We love this house, and this was our second year renting it for family vacation. Last year, we enjoyed sitting on the beach while the kids played in the surf. This year, the water was so high, some days we had no beach! In the evening or at sunrise, we usually had some. The water hit the retaining wall all night, sounding like a battering ram. And, during the day, the water was so rough in front of the house, the family walked on the road to get down the beach and in the water. If you are not interested in getting in the water, but in seeing the water, this is a great house! The house is lovely and very comfortable, but we will seek another property next summer. Also note that we had no key to the front of the property the entire week, finally got a key to the beach side of the garage after complaining that the garage opening keypad did not work with the code provided. We were never able to use it. They had just sprayed for bugs, yet we had roaches in several rooms and ants in the kitchen. The exterminator was sent same day after we complained.
Beautiful house for the family, but no beach at high tide

The house is very beautiful in every way from the decor to the nice furniture, bedrooms, kitchen and view of the ocean. Be prepared to not have any (i.e. none)beach to walk on during high tide. The waves literally beat hard up against the sea wall right in front of the house and it looks like you are in a house boat when you look our the windows. During low tide, the beach is nice, but we had to get a ladder to climb down from the last step of the stairs that led to the beach. Trying to steady a lounge chair and tote bag and go up and down the ladder was a bit tricky. Loading up the car and driving down to the beach club and laying out at their beach was very nice as they have beach at low or high tide.
You Can't Get Closer to the Ocean Unless You're On a Boat

Our week started out rocky: when we arrived at the home at 5 PM Saturday, we discovered that the garage doors were not functioning properly, the elevator was inoperable, and worst of all, the stairs from the deck to the beach were completely missing -- all this despite the welcome letter on the kitchen counter stating the home had been inspected prior to our arrival by the rental company. The elevator and garage door issues were fixed within 24 hours, but the stairs down to the beach were missing all week long. We had to scale a 6' beach wall to get down to the water, and my 73 year old mother-in-law had to ask the next-door-neighbors if she could use their stairs to get down to the beach. Considering the cost of this rental and that the elevator and direct beach access were the primary attractions of the home, and given that we had four senior citizens in our group, the missing stairs were really inexcusable. The rental office offered to move us, but there were no suitable rental homes that were vacant during our stay. However -- this home is spacious, beautiful, and the entire back wall of the home is floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors with breathtaking ocean views in all directions. This home only has a beach when the tide is out, but when it comes in the water reaches the sea wall and it is almost like you're on a boat. We loved the large porch for reading and watching sunsets, big family meals in the kitchen, walks on the very private beach, and all in all it was a fabulous trip. We would definitely rent this home again (provided they get the stairs fixed!).
