Lynton, United KingdomCouldn't be better !!
Left on 01/02/2013 for a stay in May 2012
We arrived wet and cold after a long ride from Calais. Alan offered to drive us to the Supermarket so we could get some provisions before it closed !! We were all impressed with the kindness shown. It didn't stop there, our hosts were always there if we needed them. We lived for a week in the ground floor appartment where we came and went as we pleased. The accomodation was clean, spacious and good quality. A lovely part of Germany, near to so many attractions, also with a railway station nearby to go to Cologne or Trier when the rain came in.
A great holiday. I would definately return again.
Sorry about the belated review, I don;t normally bother with reviews, but these folks deserve this one.
Thanks

London, United KingdomSpacious comfortable and relaxing
Left on 08/10/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We (parents with son and daughter in late teens) received a very warm welcome from alan and Gisela who, rather than just a minimal tour of the apartment (as with some of the holiday homes we have rented) took the time to explain everything on offer within the property. Alan and Gisela are simply wonderful and will regularly check that everything is going well with your stay but they are not at all intrusive. They both speak excellent English (not surprisingly for alan as he comes from the Midlands) and have a wealth of helpful information if you, like us, are visiting the area for the first time. Alan provides a very detailed guide explaining everything on offer (and there is a lot) in this pretty area of Germany. Gisela, was happy to book up restaurants on our behalf (we don’t speak any German) and even checked that there was an English speaking waitress. (On the language situation, speaking German would, of course, be a benefit but we found that there were enough English speaking people in the area that we had no real communication problems (particularly once we learnt a few pleasantries).
The apartment’s description is very accurate but you will probably still be surprised to find how big it actually is. It was also very clean. We enjoyed the spacious lounge, with its comfortable settee and armchairs, which leads out onto a balcony where we relaxed with a book and a drink while our kids watched English TV or some of the Dvds we brought with us. There is a table on the balcony with enough room for four to eat but we mostly ate out (we had coffee and cake every day and got fat as the portion sizes are ridiculous but so nice). We all found the beds to be comfortable and the bedrooms quiet for an excellent night’s sleep.
Basically, great accommodation run by a knowledgeable and helpful couple in a beautiful area with lots to see and do where they sell good beer, wine and cake. -

BristolA pleasant stay in a non-touristy town
Left on 05/27/2011 for a stay in September 2010
A good spot to explore the surrounding region, although some drives were quite long. The train service to Trier was excellent with the station a convenient walk down the hill. The apartment was warm, comfortable, spacious and well equipped, spotlessly clean and a good supply of clean towels. the decor is a trifle fussy and may not be to everyone's taste. Gerolstein is a pleasant town to walk around although the restaurants were not particlarly worth a mention. There is a superb ice cream parlour just down from the apartments also serving excellent coffee.

Colchester, EssexA great place to stay in a great location with great hosts
Left on 05/06/2011 for a stay in May 2010
Myself and 5 other motorcycle friends (bikers) hired both 'Peter' and 'Charlie' Apartments because they ;looked clean and spacious, had all amenities, and was in a location that provided great roads for biking and hills for walking. We were not disappointed. Combined with the great weather (sunny and mid 20's for much of our stay) Alan and Gisela's hospitality and endeavour to make sure everything was 'just right' made it an unforgettable week. It really ticks all the boxes for holiday rental accommodation - location, amenities, things to do, places to eat and drink, cleanlinees, space - but above all - the hospitality of alan and Gisela's - it couldn't be faulted - made us all feel at home and welcome - even letting us use the garage for the bikes.

We had a really enjoyable stay with alan & Gislea. they are excellent hosts. Happy to give you all the space you need but have provided everything for you to have busy full sight seeing schedule. Alan's guides to the region cover just about everything and are excellent background to the sights, scenes and culture of Gerolstein and the surrounding areas.
My wife and i will definitely be returning in august but this time with the whole family. So that they too can share in the great sights, villages and wine festivals and much much more. This time staying in the Charlie apartment, which is of equal quality to apartment Peter.
Alan & Gisela have taken every opportunity to equip both the apartments to the highest quality and with everything that anyone need need for a totally enjoyable stay. They also make themselves fully available for your enquiries should you have any. They're truly excellent hosts, -

And the garden with the ducks and knomes. The squirrels were a joy to watch too. Lovely lovely location. On our list to return

We visited Eifel region in summer of 2009 with our parents and our 1 year old kid. Eifel apartment is the best apartment in the region. We felt at home the moment we stepped in. Alan and Gisela are genuine, friendly hosts and they have made sure that guests can enjoy their holidays to the fullest. The region has so much to offer. The lakes, rivers, castles, vinyards, sports, adventure... it has everything and Eifel apartments is a central point to all of these and more. We would definitely recommend this apartment to all our friends.

DarlingtonA relaxing week away from it all ...
Left on 04/28/2011 for a stay in March 2010
We go on a self catering holiday every year, and in alternate years it's to mainland Europe.
Our stay in Gerolstein ticked all the boxes for us. There are visitor attractions in the region to suit almost all tastes. Apartment Peter was a very comfortable 'home from home' with every requirement met.
We toured extensively but Gerolstein itself is a delight. Shops are within walking distance and there are superb places to go for a daytime snack or an evening meal. There are pleasant local walks and bus and rail travel are easy to organise. Both stations are a short walk from the apartments.
Alan and Gisela could not be more helpful as hosts, so if not sure of anything ... you ask.
In light of our experiences elsewhere we would rate these apartments at the top of our European accommodation and we highly recommend a visit. We tend not to do 'repeat visits' but we're going back to Gerolstein this summer.
We would not hesitate to recommend alan and Gisela and their superb apartments. -
