    Additional Location Information

Gettysburg is the site of one of the most important battles of the US Civil War and the largest land battle ever fought in North America. The Bluebrick Place puts you in the heart of the historic district of the town. (Just one block West of the square and a block south of Gettysburg College.) The Bluebrick Place is within walking distance of numerous restaurants and eateries, shops, and art galleries. It is an in-town location so if you are looking to take in the sometimes rowdy "local flare" (especially on the weekends) then this is the place for you! The Garryowen Irish Pub and Ragged Edge Coffee Shop are across the street. There is Seasons Bakery, Devil's Den Deli, Lukes Grill and the Bluebrick Gallery all within the same block. Down the street are Blue Parrot Bistro, Mamma Ventura's Italian Restaurant, the Pub and many more restaurant, shops and galleries. Free parking is hard to come by in downtown Gettysburg. We offer 1 offstreet parking space for our guests. Park your vehicle and then take the local trolley to get around or rent a scooter or scoot coupe at Getty Peds, also located around the corner.

This review will not help you make up your mind on wether this place is clean or not, if there's enough cookware or is the bed is comfy. Reason is, I've never been here before.

But I can tell you about the customers service you can expect from Lisa and her husband.

I had booked for 10/29 for a 7-night stay. The thing is, Sandy (Hurricane Sandy, that is), booked the same dates!

I was concerned about my safety and Lisa kindly offered my to reschedule. She kept in contact with me thoughout the week to update me on their situation.

I was able to push my trip back to next april without any problems, thanks to their understanding and great heart.

Thank you Lisa and thank you Lisa's husband (Sorry, you never told me his name).

I will tell everyone I know about about you guys hoping that they give you a phone call to book their stay in beautiful Gettysburg.

We travel to Gettysburg about once a month. We never stayed close to the square before until this trip. It was a different experience, mornng coffee /tea walk didn't include the cemetary, battlefield or seminary ridge like usual, but we saw parts of town that we would have never seen unless staying here. We will stay again.

We had a wonderful stay and can't wait for our next one

Left on 09/22/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We booked this room so that we wouldn't have to camp in the July heat. We are Civil War Reenactors and had our annual reenactment the first weekend in July. Lisa was wonderful throughout the booking process and our stay. When we arrived the a/C wasn't cooling the room as it should (couldn't keep up with the extreme heat this year) and Lisa went out and got a brand new one first thing the next morning, she even came by and installed it herself. It was so nice to get to the room that afternoon and cool off after a long day on the battlefield. The Bluebrick is located right in the middle of everything and is within walking distance to alot of attractions. We look forward to staying here again in the future and her other property the Tate House.

We had a great stay at Bluebrick Place! It was a super location and nice to have your own space with a small kitchen, etc.
The only reason I wouldn't rate it perfectly is because the bed was quite uncomforable...otherwise everything was great!

      Hi Shannon,
Glad you had a great stay at the Bluebrick Place! Thanks for heads up about the bed. We've just added a memory foam topper and an extra thick "bed bug proof" mattress cover. Hoping that does the trick! We do appreciate your feedback as it helps us make the Bluebrick Place the best it can be.

Left on 08/07/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Conveniently located close to downtown -close to great restaurants (Irish Pub across street was awesome!) Went to a great program at the historic church down the street (only on saturdays in summertime) Motorcycle traffic was a bit loud as it is on a main street but this was a great place to stay as we did not have to drive anywhere to eat or shop or just people watch. The corner 50's style restaurant was a good place for breakfast- yummy donuts too!

Great Location, Very Clean, Right Price.

Left on 07/16/2012 for a stay in July 2012

My wife and I (late 20's) were looking for a nice weekend in Gettysburg as we had never been there. We weren't sure what to expect when we followed a friend's recommendation to stay at Bluebrick Place, but we were pleasantly surprised how things worked out.

The rental is a studio apartment within walking distance of everything in town. It was on the ground level, very clean, very cool with remote control air-conditioning; included gas stove for cooking and new fridge and microwave; also included basic cable and free wi-fi; and a queen bed and comforter, as well as a newer futon.

The only odd thing for us was that we had to bring our own linens (towels and bed-sheets)...but we had never stayed in a rental of this type and it was actually very comforting sleeping in our own sheets!

So bring some sheets and towels, and then enjoy Gettysburg. We walked to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as to the adams County Winery for free Wine Tasting. It was a great stay, and we would choose Bluebrick Place again.

This well decorated small apartment is centrally located to everything in Gettysburg. The accommodations were perfect with all the conveniences of home. This rental is in great location! We were within walking distance of all of the First Friday activities. And, the Gettysburg attractions are just around the corner. At the same time we felt we were in a secluded vacation spot. It was very quiet and clean. This is a great Gettysburg vacation rental for a couple or small family looking to enjoy all that Gettysburg has to offer.

The Bluebrick is situated in the centre of Gettysburg and allows you to reach all the key points of the town. Right next to the College it's perfect for anyone who wants to visit a friend or a relative, or for anyone who just wants to live the magical essence of one of the most famous battles in the history of the us. The owner is very kind and always available to immediatly solve any problem you may encounter. Taking a tour through the utterly well-preserved battlefield is highly recommended.

With a freshman at the college, this was our first family weekend at Gettysburg. With parking at an expensive premium and walking the primary form of transportation, Bluebrick was ideally located and it was so nice having a warm, cozy place to come "home" to. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to make it an annual event until graduation. Thank you Lisa. You did a great job with the place.

Left on 10/17/2011 for a stay in October 2011

This was our first visit to Gettysburg and we were fortunate to discover Bluebrick Place, right in the heart of the town, near the corner of Washington and the Chambersburg Pike. We were able to walk a short block to the central square, while the drive to the excellent military park museum and the battlefields themselves was easy.
The rental was cozy, decorated with attractive artwork. Perhaps a bit too much art, for there was a decided lack of storage space that owner Lisa Harman has agreed to improve upon. The bottle of wine and goodies in the fridge were a nice touch. Be sure to park in the designated spot, for the area in front of the unit belongs to another property owner.
Across the street is a bakery, pizza place and sandwich shop, all highly recommended, as is the Garryowen Tavern for Shepherd's pie and Guinness on
      tap.
Around the corner is a laundromat, very convenient, with a Mexican restaurant and scooter rental shop next door.
On Friday night during our visit, there was a Latin street festival and the whole city turned out for some great music and dancing. Between the tourists and the local college, it's a busy place, especially on weekends. But this journey was all about Civil War history and Gettysburg did not disappoint. We brought an audio CD (with a nice 84-page booklet) to use that described the action, allowing us to travel at our own pace. Unless you have only a day or two, avoid the battlefield bus tours.
We highly recommend Bluebrick Place - it isn't fancy but the location provides a perfect headquarters for your Gettysburg adventure.

This was a conveniently located studio apartment with a full well-equiped kitchen. We were able to walk to many restaurants, shops and a supermarket. And there was a lot of info about the area. It was uniquely decorated with original art by local artists and located just behind the Bluebrick Gallery which has lots more locally done artwork and jewely.

The Bluebrick Place is a super location which is close to the Square with shopping, dining and sightseeing within a few minutes walk. Make sure you visit the Bluebrick Gallery located in the same building - exceptional and one of a kind artwork and jewelry by local artists. The apartment is very clean, neat and very nicely decorated. Original artwork on the walls is beautiful and eclectic (all done by the owner, Lisa). We greatly appreciated the "welcoming" book with directions to places we might like to visit in the surrounding area as well her thoughtfulness in supplying snacks (muffins, granola bars, coffee) for our enjoyment. In addition, we loved having a very convenient parking space a very short walk away from our accommodations. I'm sure we will be staying at the Bluebrick Place whenever we visit Gettysburg.

Bluebrick Place was a comfortable, romantic getaway that is priced very competitively with surrounding hotels and B&Bs.; It is in close proximity to everything, (restaurants, shops and movie theater) enabling you to walk wherever you wish to go. What is really nice, is that the prices for rentals don't get jacked up depending on the weekend, which brings a little integrity to the visit. From the easy, friendly check-in to the painless checkout, Lisa (the owner) made our stay first-rate. I will definitely be staying here again!
