Wellington, New ZealandFlawless Villa with wonderful staff and management
Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We stayed in the Villa for 10 nights in December and loved it. Everything was as it the reviews had mentioned and more. Transport from Bali was arranged, we were greeted on the beach and welcomed to our new home by the fantastic staff and the very kind Joanna. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. The villa itself was away from the noisy center but close enough to stroll to the beach. Joanna and the staff were extremely helpful and made our stay at the beautiful villa effortless while ensuring our privacy was maintained. I would recommend this villa to all types of travelers and would certainly stay here again. :)

New York, NYGreat location and service!
Left on 08/09/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I recently stayed at Baruna Villa with my boyfriend and another couple and had a wonderful stay. We originally tried to book at Marta's, which was booked but the owner suggested we stay at Baruna (they share ownership) which turned out to be less expensive than staying at a hotel and we had the whole villa to ourselves! The villa is a great property -- very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. It is in a perfect location, a short walk or bike ride from the beach, restaurants, etc but tucked away from the more developed areas of the island so it stays quiet and feels more private. A few bikes are provided free of charge, so it's very easy to get around the island. The only complaint was that the internal walls in the villa were quite thin so you can easily hear conversations/noise through the walls -- but not a big problem since you'll likely rent the villa with friends or family.
The best part about Baruna was absolutely the service. There are a couple of staff who stay at the villa (in separate quarters) who make breakfast each morning, can do laundry if needed and are around to help with directions or to answer any questions -- they were all lovely and very helpful. Joanna, who manages the property, was hugely helpful to us throughout our stay. She helped us book transportation to the villa from Bali and met us at the boat dock to take us to the villa. She also helped us book activities on the island (a day boat trip), provided restaurant recommendations and even helped us book flights and transport to our next destination on Lombok! She really went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. -

Brisbane, AustraliaGreat Spot and Better time had by all
Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012
There were 7 of us (3 singles and two couples) all between 27 and 31 and this place was fantastic for us. We were there for 6 nights. The guys who work at the villa made our trip. They are really nice local blokes and speak some english and make you breakfast, give you the local knowledge of the island, everything you are after they can help out. Joanna who manages the place is lovely and very well connected from organizing tickets to boats for diving and was happy to help us out at every turn. The place itself was great. Huge rooms and beds, great living areas. Bike included were a must as it is a little bit away from most of the action but great if you want to escape it all. Would definitely stay here again if we were back on Gili T.

DarwinFabulous spacious villa in a great location
Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The villa is very spacious with more than enough room for 6 people. The staff were attentaive but unobtrusive and the manager Joanna could not have been more helpful, arranging the fast boat transfers from Bali and ensuring everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The villa is in a great location, easy walking distance to the main strip and beach but set back far enough rip to ensure you are not exposed to the noise from the strip late at night.

The villa is a fantastic place to stay, very spacious and relaxing. The location is great, plenty of peace and quiet but a short bike ride to all the restaurants and bars. It's easy to spend a day at the pool, especially with the wonderful staff looking after you. Joanna was very friendly and extremely helpful if you wanted to book anything and I highly recommend a stay here. Thanks for a great time.

Hong Kong, ChinaFaboulous holidays
Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in August 2011
we chose Baruna Villa to organise a family reunion with a group arriving from France and the other from Hong Kong. the occasion was important for us as it was for the 50th wedding anniversary of our parents.
Joanna, who manages the place and recently is the new owner has been extremely helpful in all matters from the Bali-Trawangan tickets booking, to making the legwork (or bike work) to find a suitable place for the celebration.
Eddy and team at the villa took great care of us and were always there to help and make our stay a memorable time.
The pictures are absolutely thruthful to the place, location a couple hundred meters from the best swimming area of the beach is fantastic.
we all left with more than a tear and will certainly be back as soon as possible.
Can't recommand more a place for a fantactic and totally relaxing holiday!
Thanks again Jo, Eddy and team to made these 3 weeks possible. -

Left on 07/28/2011 for a stay in July 2011
I recently stayed at Baruna Villa with my husband and friends. The Villa is very spacious and beautifully designed. Its situated just off the main beach front, is perfect for relaxing by the pool but only a short walk to beach, restaurants or shops. The staff at the villa are very friendly and make a great breakfast. Joanna helped arrange a wonderful birthday surprise for me and special dinner at Ko Ko Mo the best restaurant on the island. Nik also helped my husband arrange his dive course with a small local company, he had one on one tuition and had a amazing experience seeing turtles and many different fish. We all had a great holiday and were very thankful for all the help the managers gave us with our travel plans etc. We will hopefully return to the Gili islands and would defiantly recommend to friends.

My friends and I stayed at Baruna Villa during Jan 2011 and we had a brilliant time here.
The villa is big, the rooms are big and each had it's own bathroom which was good for all couples.
Jo helps manage this villa on the island for Leila and Steve and she was very helpful, gave us great tips and even printed some maps so we could all find our way.
The villa was away from the main strip, however, this was nice as we were not in the 'thick of things' but an easy walking distance if we wanted to be.
The villa was in a great spot for snorkling and the nicer part of the beach which we enjoyed.
Eddie (in house staff) made brilliant pancakes each morning and his hospitality was great!
We had a great time on Gili T and we will be back soon. -

A fabulous well-appointed and clean villa, ideally suited to a family holiday. The island has something for everyone ranging from quiet idyllic beaches to 'doof doof' late night partying - and everything in between. The villa allows you to enjoy which ever option you prefer.

our biggest priority was privacy re noise for our two young children, both so they could sleep when needed, and also didnt bother others when they were noisy in the early hours of the day when many holidayers sleep. We found this place to be private but still close to all services. the booking process was very efficient, informative and friendly., as was check in. The staff coudnt have been more helpful and friendly. Edi in particular was great with us and expecially our children. We felt very welcomed and suported while not being intruded upon. Everyting was flexible, whoch suits us best.
many thanks

What an amazing island...and what a fantastic Villa. The Villa is situated just off eth beach and away from all the noise of the late night beach bars but close enough for it to be only a short walk (or cycle ride). Thanks for a very enjoyable stay, will be coming back.

I stayed in the villa with some family and friends and we had a fantastic time. The staff are amazing and looked after us so well we never wanted to leave.
The house had everything we needed and the pool was a great pleasure to come home to after a day diving or at the beach.
The island was great and the villa is close the beach and town but also far enough away from the main area to be really relaxing and our little sanctuary when we wanted that.
thanks for our stay.. -

Stayed here for 10 days and it was an amazing and relaxed experience with sting staff who were attentive to all of our needs. We had small children with us and the staff were just as attentive to the children and provided hours of entertainment for all.
The location is fabulous! It was quiet, clean and lots of freash air and flowers. The pool was cool, fresh and always a crystal clear blue.
We highly recommend this villa to all of our friends and hope to stay again soon when we are able.
Thanks everyone for a great stay :-)

The Baruna Villa is amazing. We stayed there for 3 weeks with our two daugthers ( 2,8 years and 1 year) and we enjoyed every minute of it.
The staff was wonderful. We just asked and they arranged it all for us. It was especially nice that we could ask for a grocery list before we came and that all was there when we arrived. So no carrying around with big bags of diapers etc etc.
But also our verywell prepared breakfast, the laundry and the cleaning was perfect every time. You just have to ask for something and they will arrange it.The management of the Villa is also very helpfull. lovely and if there is a problem, they will help you where ever they can.
The Villa is also very suitable for young kids. The whole house is childproof, there is a highchair and we loved the bikes with childseats. The pool is cleaned everyday and the special section for children is very handy. Im also very happy with the generator. Electricity is sometimes a problem on the island but with the generator you hardly notice any of it.
We were very also happy with the kitchen. Its fully equipt with two ovens a microwave and a big fridge with freezer. So you dont have to go out every evening and can just stay at home for a homecooked meal. Also there is a cooler which really cools your water icecold. The beds and the bathrooms are very spacy, perfect and lovely.
Actually there is not one thing I can think of which is less in the Villa. We stayed in many hotels and different places but in this Villa everything is just perfect. If its possible we probably want to book again for next year.

Newcastle, NSW, AustraliaAll you need on Gili T
Left on 07/26/2010 for a stay in January 2010
We (2 adults & 4 teenagers) spent 5 nights at Villa Baruna in Jan 2010. The booking itself, made direct with the owners was straightforward & Leila could not have been more helpful during this process. We were picked up as arranged with Leila by horse & cart & taken to the Villa on our arrival at the beach. Villa B is not loated on the beach but it is a short walk, or even shorter bike ride (6 are provided) to the water or any of the main areas on Gili T. The house itself is great - 3 bedrooms (one up & 2 down), large lounge/kitchen area (with the beautiful high ceiling) & pretty much as depicted in the photos. Rooms are all clean, large & bathrooms are excellent. The staff who live on-premises for cleaning, cooking etc are fantastic & you hardly know they are there. If I had to make a gripe it would be that the decking surrounding the pool is in need of some refurbishment & the open block of land next door (which is fenced & may be part of the overall property) needs a bit of housekeeping. The electricity issue & need for generators on Gili T is a bit of a pain also, but that is everywhere in the Gili's & to a certain degree can be considered one of the islands charms (except when beer is warm !!) If you are travelling in a group & you want the space that a house provides then I can definitely recommend Villa Baruna.

Relaxing time had by all during our stay at Baruna Villa! If you are looking for a tropical island to unwind, this is a perfect spot. Good food, uncrowded beaches. Lombok is just a short boat ride away if you feel like exploring more than this small island and it's two neighbors. If you ar e a diver, I'd recommend other places in Indo, but the slow pace of life here is the strong suit of this location.
