This charming, single storey barn conversion sleeps 4 people in the pretty Dorest village of Milton on Stour. Brook Cottage was originally built as a barn, but has been tastefully converted to offer accommodation for four people; ideal for small families or a small party of friends. The cottage has been built over a brook and has retained much of its original character through the exposed beams that can be found throughout. All the accommodation is laid out over one level an there is a large, enclosed patio area beside the stream; perfect for enjoying a spot of al fresco dining in the long, summer evenings. There is off-road parking for 1 ca...r and the local amenities are a mere 10-minute walk from the front door.

Amenities: Storage heaters with electric fire in sitting area. Electric oven with halogen hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, TV with basic Sky package, DVD player. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair available on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Large enclosed paved patio area beside stream, with garden furniture. One well-behaved dog welcome at £10 per week. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 8 mins walk. Bar in local hotel 10 mins walk. Note: Due to proximity to stream, children should be supervised. Note: The owner runs a small touring caravan site close to the property.

Region: Explore the fossils and stunning beaches of Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, visit historic Sherborne and Shaftesbury, or enjoy the footpaths, country lanes and thatched-roof pubs Dorset offers.

Town: Close to the border of Wiltshire and Somerset, Milton on Stour is only a short drive from the town of Gillingham. It is close to a number of major attractions, including Longleat House, the historical mansion and safari park that is owned by the eccentric Marquis of Bath. Nearby Gillingham hosts its own festival each year, comprising a range of musical styles, arts, crafts and sports activities. The National Trust owns many properties in the area and they are all worth a visit; Stourhead is a world-famous 18th Century landscape garden and Palladian mansion with enchanting temples, monuments and rare plants set around a tranquil lake. All prices are inclusive of the booking fee. The "Min. Per Night" prices quoted are based on the weekly rental price, they are not applicable for short breaks. See our short break policy or ask for further details.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  Great locaion to explore boy's own adventure museums - Haynes motor museum, air and flight museum,tank museum, bath, salisbury, stonehenge, aveybury stones. miniature village...great location, peaceful and quiet.

  A bit remote and quite hard to find the "fantastic walks" that were supposedly on our doorstep. For a short break was great.
  The accomodation was second to none. Really 1st class. The owner was very easy going and helpful whilst also just letting us get on with it and left us alone.

  What a delightful cottage Brook Cottage is, a really relaxing and peaceful location. Whilst on a working farm of sorts my wife and our two dogs thoroughly enjoyed our stay. With walks on the doorstep and the delights of Dorset too, we were really hapy and satisfied. We asked the owner about the picture of this cottage, it was taken on a rainy day and we felt it let it down. If you stay here you'll relax and enjoy your stay.
