The Main Level is almost 2000 sq ft w/ Dramatic 25 ft Vaulted Ceilings throughout. The Kitchen can cater to a variety of events. We rented this house for 5 weeks in the Spring of 2011. We really enjoyed our stay. My kids loved it, especially "Happy" the bear. We had just moved to anchorage area and this house was perfect. The walls are decorated with alaskan trophies of every kind. It is very lodge like. We enjoyed the quirky and sleepy town of Girdwood and all the wild life (black bear and moose). We rode our bikes to dinner every night and played at the playground and skate park every day. The trails at alyeska resort are fabulous. The house itself has an open main floor design big enough for entertaining 100 people, with huge windows all around. This was great but it is right on the main street, so there is little privacy. The master is upstairs and is quite nice, but if you're tall you'll have to stoop to use the mirrors and sinks. The other 4 bedrooms are on the ground level and each has private bath. This level feels more like a basement, but the beds are big and rooms suitable. The bedding and decor are outdated and mismatched, but clean. The kitchen is huge. The hot tub was a great hit, but the neighborhood is very sensitive to noise and there is little privacy. The log stairs in the house are a bit uneven, so be very careful with young ones or elderly people. Kim was very accommodating and gracious. This house was great for us. We might rent it again for a family gathering during the ski season. (short walk to ski lifts!)

We rented this property with another family for a spring break skiing vacation. The house is amazing. Beautiful log construction. Large open areas were great for the the kids and adults. Great location convenient to the slopes and restaurants but the kitchen is also amazing. We are already planning next years stay.

We recently enjoyed a wonderful stay in alyeska. Only made better by the Duncan's amazing log home! We have rented several homes for large get weekend trips, and this home was by far one of our top stays. The kitchen has top appliances and lots of space so that many people can either be preparing or simply hanging out in the kitchen while eating/preparing meals. There is plenty of space for everyone to spread out.
We also really enjoyed the large hot tub! Definitely a nice luxury after skiing in the powder all day.

Our son and daughter-in-law rented the lodge for their wedding. It is in a lovely setting. It accommodated 30 wedding guests very nicely for a wedding on the deck. It has a huge kitchen capable of feeding the entire crowd. The party went from Wed evening until Mon with most meals eaten there. It was clean when we arrived and had a well supplied kitchen. Victor explained how everything worked when they arrived. The hot tub was enjoyed by several.
