Auckland
Auckland, New ZealandGreat location- recommend for short to medium term stay
Left on 04/12/2013 for a stay in February 2013
I stayed at the Queensgate Garden apartment, with my partner, for 11 nights in February 2013. We choose the apartment due to its location (West End) and as its amenities (fully furnished and ability to self-cater).
The service from the time of booking to check in was very good. Email confirmations and requests were dealt with efficiently and helpfully. The apartment has all you need for your stay and the kitchen is well equipt with cooking ware and crokery etc.
The best thing about the apartment is the location. It is well placed for those wishing to be located in the West End (in my opinion the best part of Glasgow). The apartment is a short walk to Byres Road and also to Hillhead Subway - so while Byres Road and surrounds have all the cafes, restuarant, bars, supermarkets needed for a stay in the city - it is easy to get to other parts of the city and tourist attractions via the easy to use subway system.
Overall the apartment is comfortable and a good size for a couple (all rooms were decent size, although some may find the bathroom a bit small). Also, given we arrived to a cold Glasgow winter (coming from the warmth of NZ and Dubai) we really appreciated the well heated rooms and central heating system. It was great to be able to come home from a day in the cold to a nice warm apartment.
Perhaps the only downside was the cost as it did seem quite expensive. However, while it was more expensive than B&Bs; in the area it may be comparable to other apartments of this kind.
I would recommend the apartment for those wanting a place to stay in the short to medium term and who want all the facilities of a fully furnished and equipt apartment. -

LondonLovely place - we'll be coming back!

We had a wonderful few nights in the Queensgate apartment. Catherine and George had made the place feel so comfortable, it seemed like an extension of their home. They had thought of everything we might need, and some extras we weren't expecting - poetry books on the shelves, fresh fruit on the table, shower gel in the bathroom... We used the kitchen to cook and it was great (electric oven: v responsive).
Location-wise, we couldn't have hoped for more. It was my first real exploration of Glasgow city centre, but my partner grew up there and he knew it would be good place. Definitely. Byer's Road is the local high street, with loads of shops and cafes (the Oran Mor 'pie, a play and a pint' is just round the corner - much recommended). And it is close to the Kelvingrove art gallery and the botanic gardens. Many of the things we wanted to see and do were close by - we ended up walking everywhere.
I had a great time in Glasgow, and was very glad to be staying in this flat. I hope we can stay there again when we're back in town! -

Left on 11/18/2012 for a stay in October 2012
This is an excellent little flat, which is perfectly located for the West End of Glasgow and well-connected to the rest of the city. Catherine and George met me at the flat, handover was easy, it has all the amenities you might need and more, and it was spotless. The bed is extremely comfortable, and the neighbourhood quiet at night. A great base for anybody wishing to explore Glasgow!

Left on 08/27/2012 for a stay in July 2012
This apartment is very well situated for the West End of Glasgow with easy access to the City Centre by underground. It was ideal for two people with a very spacious lounge and comfortable double bed. There was everything you needed in the kitchen if you prefer to eat in. However there are ample cafes and restaurants on nearby Byers Road if you want to eat out. It was quiet and relatively easy to park. If there wasn't a space outside, then we always found one just round the corner

We found the house to be very comfortable with everything you could wish for. The beds are particulalry comfortable. The house had been beautifully restored in keeping with its original features.Catherine and George were most helpful. We found plenty to do in Glasgow - visiting the Glasgow School of art, the Transport Museum and the Botanical Gardens were particularly enjoyable. We had 3 wonderful warm sunny days and spent one beside Loch Lomond - quite beautiful. We also drove into the Black Mountains.

We stayed in this lovely house during our family visit to Glasgow this summer on business and holiday. In complete silence and homely atmosphere I was able to prepare well for my report at a scientific conference, while my wife and son went sightseeing around Glasgow. In the evening we had family dinner prepared in the well-equipped kitchen - my wife was delighted with how well everything has been thought out down to the smallest detail. A twenty-minute morning walk to the Secc through quiet Glasgow's streets and a park provided freshness and vigor throughout the day.
This was our first visit to Scotland (as well as in England) and we were very impressed by the interior of this typical British apartment with a fireplace, stained-glass windows overlooking a small garden and lots of books - from guides to poetry pages, carefully prepared for us by our host.
If you want to take away from Scotland fond memories, you can expect to find them in this apartment.

I booked this apartment due to the location - very easy walking distance to Glasgow University and the West End amenities - whilst working at a training event. Catherine was charming and very helpful and the property was a lovely characterful change to the usual hotel stay. Sunlight streaming in through the stained glass windows and the view onto a colourful flower display are my lasting memories. Very peaceful location despite the proximity to Byres Rd. Very comfy bed and restful lounge. Fully equipped kitchen. Bathroom rather small but adequate for my needs and slightly musty smell due to the basement location. I enjoyed my stay so much that I booked another one of Catherine and George's apartments for my return visit to Glasgow in September (and plan to book again for next year):)

LondonAnother great stay at Queensgate
Left on 04/23/2010 for a stay in December 2009
I stayed at Queensgate in December 2009, the third time I have stayed there, and I have also stayed at Catherine and George's Bellhaven Apartment on two (or maybe three) occasions now.
The service was, as always, faultless and if I had any questions or anything I couldn't figure out in the apartment, Catherine and George were round in a shot to sort it out or show me how it worked.
The Queensgate Apartment is a real home from home and perfectly located for all the great amenities of the West End (restaurants, shops, cafés as well as Kelvingrove Art Gallery and the botanical gardens), and 5 minutes from the Underground Station which is then a short journey into the city centre. If you have a car, it is also ideally located for getting on to the M8 with Edinburgh less than an hour away, or heading out of the city to the west towards Loch Lomond. It is also worth noting than you can park your car round there for free.
I often choose to stay in serviced apartments rather than hotels, particularly for longer stays, and Bellhaven is probably the nicest I have stayed in, and the quality of service is certainly the best.
Highly recommended... -

George and Catherine were very helpful, friendly but unobtrusive.
We found the apartment very comfortable and pleasant.
The location for us was all important as we were visiting following the birth of our daughter's first child, and she lives five minutes walk away.
We did have time to visit museums etc, all of which we walked to, or caught the subway, very convenient for the city. We were fascinated by the wonderful windows in the street, not to be ignore, in search of other landmarks.
We really appreciated the small touches, milk in the fridge etc. There was nothing we liked least! -

Left on 02/02/2010 for a stay in January 2010
From the moment we walked through our private entrance into this beautifully
apportioned apartment we knew we had struck pure gold. Tastefully designed
decor, a warm, welcoming fireplace, a very comfortable bed and spacious
kitchen and living room area all made for a very comfortable stay. We truly
felt like we were in a home away from home. The free wifi, digital television
and great selection of board games all added to the experience. We are telling
all our friends about this gem and will surely stay again.
