The apartment was very centrally located and with restaurants, grocery shops, and Merchant City all within a short walking distance. Despite the fact it overlooked a huge parking lot, which was very busy during the day, we were not disturbed by noise. We were awoken during the night by a fight in the street in the back of the apartment, where the bedroom is located, from one of the three bars. Apartment was relatively clean, though baseboards were dusty and floor was streaky, and the pillows on the bed did not smell fresh. Dishwasher was not working, which wasn't a huge issue, but the fact the washer/dryer was broken was a problem. When travelling for three weeks, with just a weeks worth of clothing, this was an important selling point for us.
John & Kathleen were extremely friendly and went out of their way to be available very late at night, after our flights were delayed. They made sure the fridge was stocked with bread, milk and butter, and had even added several other goodies, which were truly appreciated. Thank you for making us welcome.
I think a littel "fine tuning" is required, but we would consider staying here again in the future.Response from John & Kathleen - 11/16/2012

Thank you for your review.
We try and help our guests as much as humanly possible . As you say your flight was delayed and you did not arrive at the flat until after midnight. We left groceries and a few other provisions in the fridge to help you out in the event you were unable to buy food en route between airports. I am glad you thought this was useful and helpful.
This year we have been blessed with lovely guests and have spent this week painting and freshening up the apartment ready for Christmas and the New Year of 2013.
The flat is cleaned by myself everytime a new guest arrives and this process takes around 2 hours which includes cleaning, dusting and making sure clean bedding is ready for our new guests. Unfortunately we were unable to help with your problem regarding the washing machine as you only sent the email the night before you left. As you say in your email this was not a problem to you and we look forward to you staying with us again next time you are in the UK.

Houston, TXVery good choice for location, practicality, nice landlords
Left on 08/16/2011 for a stay in July 2011
For my month-long solo visit to Glasgow, I looked at various offerings for self-catering flats on the Internet, and eventually chose this one. Overall, I am entirely pleased with my choice and was particularly delighted to find myself so well located in a city I didn't know before. Of course, the basic choice if you are coming to Glasgow for a couple of weeks as a "tourist" is whether to stay in the West End or in the city center/Merchant City. I opted for the center. For me, the pleasure of walking out of the apartment building directly into the heart of Glasgow's unparalleled architectural wonders was a constant delight. Also, from the flat to the little "subway" which whisks you to Byres Rd. in the West End was less than 5 minutes walk, so I really felt I had everything at hand. The flat is a block from the Clyde River, which has a nice walkway/jogging path along it, and the city's large central park (with its interesting People's Palace) is also just a few blocks away. All the shops you would need, including groceries, and plenty of good restaurants of all levels, are short strolls from the front door. As to the flat itself: it's not large, but not cramped either, entirely serviceable with a nice kitchen, quite pleasant bedroom in the back (with a nice view), and comfortable sofas in the living area. The view from the latter is basically over a large city parking area, but not as bad as that sounds because it's also very open-feeling and bright. Though I had been concerned about it, noise was not an issue. The only caveats I would have regarding a longer stay is Internet connectivity and, if you care, more TV channels beyond the basics. When I was there, the dishwasher was not working at all, and the washing machine seemed slightly problematic. But let me finish by saying how responsive and just plain nice Kathleen and John were in addressing any and all concerns, and doing everything to make my stay in their flat a wonderful experience!

Throughout the entire process of renting, John and Kathleen were helpful and answered all of my questions. Check in was seamless and Kathleen was informative and so warm and welcoming. The flat is centrally located and close to all transportation and shopping. I was to stay alone, but ended up having my cousin join me and we had plenty of room and found the flat perfect for us. We even ended up having to use the wireless internet option offered by John and Kathleen after our option fell through and they were accomodating immediately. I would highly recommend the flat and plan on staying again on my next visit to Glasgow!

Left on 01/09/2011 for a stay in December 2010
We booked the apartment for 3 weeks, from 16 Dec to 5 Jan. We were met at the apt. by John and Kathleen, and they took time to explain everything concerning the apt. We were across the street from a shopping center (St Enoch), with in walking distance of public transportation {train, bus} and resturants. The apt. was well kept, even with the sofa bed opened up we had plenty of room. Even though the weather was "rubbish" we were able to do everything we wanted to do, because of the location..

LondonLovely, well equipped flat, excellent location
Left on 09/12/2010 for a stay in August 2010
I stayed here for a month or two whilst working in the city and found the apartment to be very comfortable. John and Kathleen have been really helpful and a pleasure to deal with. They even went out of their way to help me find parking for the few weeks I had a car in town. Modern appliances throughout, towels and soaps etc provided and on longer stays the refresh stuff each week. Also a great location a few minutes walk from Merchant City (good bars and eating places) and the main High Streets and about 6 or 7 mins walk from both Central and Queens Street Station. Lovely. Also a Tesco's just around the corner for all the usuals. I'll be going back next time I'm in Town
