Starting with the friendly welcome by the owner, this business/pleasure trip was outstanding. The apartment occupies a great location from which to explore the city's bars, restaurants and shops...all within a few minutes walk. The apartment is spotlessly clean, warm, tastefully decorated/furnished and has plenty of accessories/utensils to ensure the perfect home-from-home experience. Highly recommended.

Left on 02/07/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We chose to stay at Barony Bell because we had the convenience of a Glasgow city centre location with much better facilities than a hotel room.
It is pretty spacious for a one-bedroom city centre apartment and has all you need for a longer stay. It was warm, comfortable, very clean, neat and stylish. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom is very well-appointed - all the comforts of home!
The apartment has secure parking underground, and keypad foyer entry so we were very relaxed during our stay, which meant we could concentrate on our holiday. Which we enjoyed very much, thank you, Moira! -

We stayed in the Barony Bell apartment for our annual girly trip as there was only three of us. Usually there are five of us and we stayed last year in the Barony High apartment. We cannot fault either of these apartments at all.
Ideal for girly weekends as very close to the rail stations and shops. Also would be great for a family break. One bedroom but also had a very comfortable sofa bed. Very clean and well looked after. Moira is also very attentive and met us on arrival - we will definitely book again for our next trip.Response from Moira Arbuckle - 12/04/2012

Well words can't describe how modern and wonderful this apartment is! It is positioned within walking distance with groceries close by! Our only regret was we only had two nights! When we come back to Glasgow it will be to the Barony!

IstanbulPerfect apartment for Glasgow city break
Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We recently stayed at the Barony Bell apartment in Glasgow. We normally stay in a hotel when we stay in Glasgow, but were looking for something which would give us more of a home from home, rather than the austere formalities that a hotel often provides.
The apartment was spotlessly clean, excellently appointed, in a fabulous location - a few minutes stroll to argyle Street, George Square & Buchanan Street - and a few minutes walk from our favourite place to eat, Cafe Gandolfi. There was also reasonably priced on-street parking right outside the apartment entrance.
The apartment itself was well furnished with every kitchen utensil you would find at home, excellent laundry facilities, and every conceivable item you would ever need whether at home or on holiday - including board games, city guides, umbrellas, shopping bags and more! The Tesco Express downstairs from the apartment was also a great extra to pick up any bits and pieces required when eating in.
Moira arbuckle the owner was efficient, polite, professional and friendly. Moira texted us a few days after our arrival just to check everything was fine - which was excellent customer service.
I would definitely stay here again - the location was perfect, the owner a pleasure to deal with, the apartment and it's facilities above and beyond what I expected - and I would definitely stay here again. -

What a gorgeous apartment. We visited so many gorgeous restaurants (not expensive!) within a 5 to 10 minute walk and were able to explore the whole city very easily from the apartment. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend both the apartment and the city.

We recently stayed in this apt. for five days. In the last four years that we have stayed at owner-rented apartments in the various places in Europe this one has been the loveliest. It is furnished with imagination and all the rooms are spacious. Kitchen is excellent with lots of room. Apt. is very quiet at all times.
Location of the apt. is excellent; a few minutes walk to restaurants and downtown. Actually, staying here made us enjoy Glasgow even more.
And Moira is a very considerate and helpful person. -

The Barony is literally minutes away (walking) from George Square where you will find great pubs, restaurants, shopping and cafes. Walking distance to the Celtic stadium - fabulous experience! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Barony. Very clean, comfortable and quiet too. Every possible amenity that one might need was thought of and provided, from umbrellas & raincoat (it is Scotland) right down to a supply of teas and lush robes to lounge around. We had fabulous weather and found the area to be very friendly. Moira was so wonderful to deal with. Very pleasant, thorough and punctual - waiting for us when we arrived early morning! One of the highlights for me, was able to come back from a great day of touring to a very comfortable bed - sleeps were peaceful and restful so that you could start fresh the next morning for our next journey! Highly recommend the Barony to friends and family! Thank you Moira!!

The apartment is lovely. Very new, stylish and modern, while comfortable at the same time. There were lots of little touches and bits and pieces that made staying there easier. Moira was very friendly and helpful at check-in. The location is convenient to pubs and restaurants in the Merchant city area, and is next to a Tescos, which was handy. I'd recommend staying here to anyone.

This is a great apartment to stay in for a long weekend in Glasgow. Very well located in the centre of town, easy to get to and from the airport and near to some great bars and restaurants. Would particularly recommend Cafe Gandolfi, which is in easy walking distance. Couple of supermarkets nearby too if you don't want to eat out.
The apartment is spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with everything you need. We had a great time. -

Left on 03/08/2011 for a stay in March 2011
We stayed in the apartment for two nights with our young son. The apartment has all the utilities you could need for a short break, including a washer dryer which is great when travelling with a young child. There are some lovely extras too, like the provision of some toys, highchair, feeding utensils etc which lessens the luggage load slightly!! The location of the apartment is ideal, with Merchant City on your doorstep you are spoiled for choice for restaurants and bars and the shopping districts of argyle St and Buchannan St just a short walk. As you would expect from a city apartment there can be some noise on a bustling Friday night but not to the extent that it would disturb you and the bedroom window is not facing onto the road so we weren't aware of any traffic noise. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider the apartment if we return to Glasgow on another break.

I stayed at the Barony apartment for a weekend and I enjoyed the experience. The apartment is well equipped and spotlessly clean; it offers far better value than any hotel accomodation for the same price. The location is excellent, just yards away from quality dining establishments and nightlife, but it doesn't suffer from any noise at night. As a base in Glasgow you really could not ask for more; I will be back again undoubtedly.

We stayed here for a weekend break and made use of the additional sofa bed, as we had friends staying one night. The apartment is very clean, large, sylish and centrally located. The owner has provided everything you could possibly need and also some extra special touches. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

Can't recommend Barony apartment highly enough - the apartment is immaculate, superbly equipped and very tastefully furnished, in a great location for exploring on foot or by local transport. Booking/checking in was a pleasant and easy experience, and my partner was delighted when she walked in the door (the weekend was a surprise trip for her). On grounds of price, why stay in the usual travel lodge type place, when, for a little extra, you can live in luxury in your own fully equipped executive apartment? Once again, highly recommended.

Barony apartment is Exactly as Described. A spotlessly clean apartment in a quiet secure block, and yet only a few minutes walk from the heart of Glasgow in the Merchant City. The apartment is better equipped than most hotels, and the owners have thought of everything. Lots of fluffy bath towels, good quality bath robes, a welcome pack in the kitchen including the most delicious hand made sweet Scottish Tablet.

A Happy Traveler
Fort Worth, TXAn excellent choice
Left on 10/12/2010 for a stay in September 2010
We were totally pleased with the flat! We stayed a week and could easily have stayed longer.
In a new building, everything in the flat was pristine, clean, and well-ordered. The flat is tastefully decorated, and the decor is well coordinated. Tall windows gave a cheery and airy feel.
We did light cooking, but the kitchen is equipped to handle nearly any meal. Nice glassware, flatware, dinnerware all added to the overall pleasure.
We found the location good for sightseeing as well as shopping (for gifts and for food). Although on a fairly major street, the apartment was quiet (5th floor) for relaxing and sleeping.
This is a self-catering flat, but Moira (manager) stocked it with enough essentials (detergent, bathroom tissue, paper towels, etc.) so that we didn't need anything additional for our stay.
We also appreciated the book of "instructions." Two weeks later we rented a flat in Edinburgh where there were no instructions/information and it was very frustrating
Moira was very accommodating for us to check in a bit early and stay a bit late on check out--not every week's booking schedule would allow that, but we did appreciate her flexibility. She and Paul are very nice.
We would definitely stay here again on another trip to Glasgow. -

While Barony apartment is ideally located for exploring Merchants City it is also easy to walk into the centre and also Glasgow Green or the medieval cathedral. The apartment is very well equipped, far more than would be needed for a few days' visit but great for a longer stay. The flat was warm, the bed very comfortable and there was constant hot water. Moira was efficient and pleasant to deal with. I have no hesitation in recommending Barony - ideal for a couple particularly.

We were delighted with the Barony apartment and enjoyed our time there. It was very clean and comfortable and well furnished. We walked easily from there to most areas of Glasgow including the Central and Queen St. rail stations. We found the central visitor center on George Square to be most helpful.

Macon, GAFabulous Glasgow Flat Near Everything!
Left on 09/24/2010 for a stay in July 2010
My husband and I visited Glasgow for the first time this past weekend and fell in love with the city. From the moment we arrived at this lovely flat in the heart of Glasgow to the time we had to head reluctantly to the train station, we could not have been more pleased with our choice to stay here.
The flat is in an ideal location, especially if you're traveling without a car. It's a short walk to the train station, Glasgow Cathedral, Museum of Modern art, the Lighthouse, and tons of unique shopping. And the art Museum and Science center are only a short bus ride away. And we simply could not have asked for more gracious hosts than Moira and Paul! They were so accommodating, leaving us treats upon our arrival and making sure we had everything we needed.
The flat itself is gorgeous, clean, cozy, and quiet, yet close to everything. The kitchen is fully stocked so we were able to cook meals while we were there. It was such a cozy place to return to after a day of wandering in the rain. We just popped in a DVD and cuddled up on the couch. The bed is also super comfortable. There's also a washer/dryer. And we loved the modern shower and bath. All was remarkably clean and comfortable. I've already recommended it highly to some of my students who may travel to Glasgow in the coming weeks. Honestly, we didn't want to leave!
Thanks again, Moira and Paul! -

Our visit to the apartment was for long weekend in a city we used to live in and still love. So we knew the location would be great, but were also delighted with the service and standard of accommodation, and the standard of care by the owner to ensure that we had everything we needed for an enjoyable break.
So thank you Moira, and we will definitely be happy to recommend Barony apartments to anyone we know looking for high end quality accommodation in the heart of the Merchant City. -

Left on 07/29/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Having previously lived in Glasgow but now residing down south I revisited the city to meet with my best friend to spend a weekend catching up, shopping and enjoying the great restaurants. Rather than stay in the usual bland chain type hotel room on this occasion I decidied to rent an apartment for my stay. It was fabulous! The apartment is beautifully furnished and has all mod cons. The location is fantastic, being very close to the heart of the city and in a great quiet neighbourhood. This allowed us to come and go as we pleased, making several trips back to the apartment to unload our shopping bags before heading back out for more fun. Finally at the end of a long day spent shopping and eating it was brilliant to be able to return to the appartment to get a good nights uninterrupted sleep and be fully recharged for the day ahead. All in all it was a wonderful weekend and I cannot wait to get back again, and without doubt I will be booking this fantastic apartment. I think the owners describe the apartment as the "perfect home away from home" - and that sums it up completely.

Arriving for my stay earlier in the morning than expected was no problem. I contacted the agent and he met me at the apartment at 5 a.m. It was so great to be able to get settled immediately! Arriving from a long flight from Toronto, Canada, it was great to be able to settle in, make a cup of tea at my own convenience and take a much needed rest before heading off for the day! The location of this apart. is amazing. Within walking distance to all the great shops Glasgow has to offer. It was wonderful to be able to go out, and return whenever needed and head out again. The apartment had everything one would need for a long or short stay. It is a bit noisy because we are in the heart of downtown, but not any different than having stayed at any other hotel in the area! Keep the door and windows closed and its perfect!
A great Glasgow experience!
I highly recommend it and would definitely book this apartment again. Also, if you should encounter any problem during your stay, it is looked after immediately.
So in closing, much better than staying in a hotel and just kick back, relax and enjoy!
