Description from owner

Description

Self catering 1 bedroom cottage set in beautiful gardens in a quiet corner of the vibrant West End. Light and airy you have your own living room, separate kitchen/diner and upstairs double bedroom. Recently built the cottage is warm and cosy, and close to excellent transport links. Free, off-street parking on driveway.

Every window of our recently built holiday cottage looks out onto the trees and lawns of our beautiful garden that has opened as part of Scotland’s Gardens Scheme. This is a safe and leafy Conservation Area and yet we are just 5 minutes’ walk from one of the best transport interchanges in the west of Scotland, 15 minutes from vibrant Byres Road with its shops, cafes and bars and 30 minutes’ walk from the SSE Hydro where many guests come to enjoy concerts by top name bands. Take your choice of supermarkets and independent shops within 10 minutes’ walk.

The cottage is light and airy and there is a mid-century vibe throughout with authentic restored 60s items of furniture.

Enter by large patio doors direct to the living room. Pass by the wetroom and the atmospheric stone wall of the adjacent house to the stairs to the bedroom (comfortable double bed with new mattress) and the spacious kitchen that serves as a second living room. In fact, the chairs are so comfortable and the wifi so good that most people are happy to sit there all night making it possible for those using the sofa bed to get an early night.

We can provide cots and high chairs for babies, animal sleeping bags for slightly older children and young teens are fine on the sofa bed (we only recommend one older person use it a time though it is technically a double.) Kids love the garden, especially those who like climbing trees and playing with frogs – but parents of young children do need to keep an eye on them by the pond.

Guests are free to use the front and back garden and park on the driveway (room for your car all the time and your visitor's car while they come for tea or dinner)

COVID policies:

We operate a strict cleaning regime and provide contactless access to keys for the cottage.

If your booking is affected by a local lockdown or the need to quarantine please contact us regarding refunds

All fuel, linen and a welcome pack is included in the price. Free wifi access

“Pre-move scouting”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2022

We had a wonderful stay in the cottage. The hosts we're both very friendly and we felt welcome and cared for as a family. We had been interested in the area in relation to an upcoming move to Glasgow and Annie shared some very useful information, and some Duplo, which our toddler was very grateful for. We enjoyed some excursions into the garden in our downtime and all had restful nights. The cottage is perfectly situated if you're visiting without a car as there are many public transport options nearby. There's a peaceful playground just up the road and plenty of options for groceries within a 10minute walk.

Very nice cottage. Well maintained everything you need . Only down side is the wet room as the floor gets very wet after a shower so if you need the toilet you will need to mop the floor. Near everything nice part of Glasgow
