    Additional Location Information

The Island of Skye, situated off the West coast Scotland, is the largest and best known of the Inner Hebrides.

Sometimes referred to in Gaelic poetry and song as Eilean a' CheΓ² (The Misty Isle), Skye is renown for its natural beauty, history and wildlife.

The Cuillin Hills, the Red Hills and Blaven have long been favourites with climbers and walkers. If you don't fancy the high places, the deeply indented coastline means you are never far from the sea.

Wildlife abounds on the Island, with birds from the tiny Goldcrest to magnificent Golden Eagle, mammals from Pygmy Shrew to Red Deer and fish from Saithe to Salmon. If you are lucky you might catch sight of the elusive Otter playing on the shore. The wide range of geology and topography provides habitats for many wild flowers.

As you travel around the Island it's not unusual to hear snatches of Scottish Gaelic, the indigenous language of the area. Gaelic culture and heritage pervade the atmosphere, each part of the Island having its own tales of times past and plans for the future.

      Brilliant House

Left on 11/13/2011 for a stay in December 2010

We stayed here. The house keeper Lindsay was fantastic. The owner's son Mr allan gave us very good driving directions how to get there. The view is amazing, the house is very comfortable with brand new kitchen and a huge dining table. There are several bedrooms to choose from. We went on several walks to take pictures of the scenary. The beds were lovely and each one has its own bathroom so no fighting for the bathroom! Overall it was great and we have booked already so spend Christmas there..

A really beautiful house, well looked after with an open fire (although the house is very warm anyway).

Relaxing trip staying in a beautiful cottage!

Left on 10/18/2011 for a stay in September 2011

Cottage was beautiful and in the most serene landscape. Its decor was lovely, very tidy and fully equipped for 10 friends and a baby. Evenings spent in the large kitchen diner and in front of the fire meant a very relaxing time for all. Great location to get to Talisker distillery, Dunvegan castle and Neist Point lighthouse.

We want to buy this house

Left on 10/17/2011 for a stay in September 2011

If this place was more conveniently located for us (so that we could commute to Birmingham), we would buy it. Absolutely beautiful house in perfect condition with great views and great walks.

Great for a big family of a big groups of friends.
