Katoomba NSWNice and quaint

This cottage was cute, quaint and old and that is what we wanted so we weren't disappointed. Bathroom was brilliant and perfectly clean. However, there was a strong dog smell downstairs, which put us off a little. The fire was also difficult to use and we felt cold quite often. Wifi was really sporadic too, not a big issue i guess. Other than that it was lovely. We are from australia travelling around UK and staying in self contained cottages and this was average value for money

WirralWonderful Holiday
Left on 08/10/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We have just returned from a lovely and relaxing family holiday in Patterdale staying at 'The Old Cop Shop'.
We had a warm welcome and the cottage was immaculate with a fire ready laid. It was well appointed and we missed nothing from home.
Our work commitments have been demanding lately, but the cottage was so well appointed, and the location perfect for walking, canoeing and just relaxing, that we have been able to make the most of our few precious days.
It is the perfect site for a family holiday with honour satisfied on all counts - not always easy!
We will certianly return, and would recommend the cottage to both couples and families. -

Very comfortable cottage, well furnished and equipped. Good sized bedrooms ,lovely kitchen and huge bathroom and lovely views from all windows! Good location - about 10/15 minutes walk from Ullswater lake and the shops and centre of village and easy drive to other places. Enjoyed our stay here and will certainly stay here again.

Stayed at Cop shop at end of last year.It really exceeded all of my expectations. The cottage itself is lovely and cosy, really clean and well equipped, everything I could have hoped for.Ideally situated, just a few minutes walk from shops and pubs yet with it being set off the main road a couple of hundred yards so very peaceful.Sarah the owner was very accommodating and helpful yet I never saw her unless i needed to.Can't wait for my next visit.

Cottage very attractive, comfortable and well equipped, with friendly welcome. Fantastic location: wonderful views, with plenty of walks - and the delights of Ullswater - on the doorstep. It is a perfect place from which to explore nearby fells or valleys and, for the more adventurous, Helvellyn. Easy walk into either Patterdale or Glenridding for shops, cafes and restaurants. Can't wait to return.

Market Drayton, ShropshireA Home from Home... !!!

Having never been to the Lake District, my partner and i decided to take the plunge and book a week. Looking for accommodation that takes pets was very difficult, but after seeing the picture of "Old Cop Shop" it was decided that was the one.
"Old Cop shop" is a warm, clean homely type cottage with everything a person could wish for, including dishwasher, washingmachine and a open fire for the evenings. From the moment you enter the cottage you feel warm, cosy and welcome. Sarah made us feel very welcome, explaining the area giving us tips and information. The location is a paradise for anybody who likes the outdoors life, be it walking, climbing or water sports. Inside the accomodation is also lots of guides for local walks and climbs in the surrounding hills and valleys, including Helvellyn (the 3rd highest mountain in England)with breathtaking views. The locals are very friendly and make you feel at home, when you enter the two local villages Patterdale and Glenridding.
We were so taken in with the area and hospitality that we said we would return even before we left, and our holiday is allready booked for 2012.

Sarah offers a professional and friendly welcome whilst staying in the Old Cop Shop. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and is in an excellent location to serve both Patterdale and Glennridding. After staying in this area for many years I still marvel at the views from the cottage.
