Excellent cottage. Everything was as promised. Had a very minor issue, which was immediately resolved by Linda. Loved the area and having a great place to stay made the trip even more memorable.

Fairview, PABeautifully Decorated and Conveniently Located
Left on 06/03/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Summerwind Cottage is beautifully decorated, inside and out, and conveniently located within walking distance of the beach, a very cool artist colony, fish and lobster markets, and the downtown Gloucester area. The well equipped kitchen and outdoor grill made cooking at the cottage enjoyable and relaxing. Sunsets from the deck are spectacular. Our hosts, Linda and Frank, provided great insider tips on where to go and what to see. We were looking for a quiet relaxing week, and we were not dissapointed with Summerwind Cottage.

New York CityComfortable, homey cottage with views of the harbor and downtown
Left on 06/03/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Charmingly decorated and comfortable, the Summerwind is a beautifully renovated cottage with views from its deck and livingroom of Gloucester harbor. The kitchen is modern and well equipped, great for vacationers who like to cook. The cottage is located at the end of a small, quiet street nestled on the side of a hill. Many interesting sights are a quick walk: Rocky Neck with it's many restaurants, shops and the Rock Neck artist's Colony; Commercial and Main Streets in Gloucester; through the quiet backstreets out to atlantic avenue that runs along the ocean; or a longer walk out to Dog Reef Breakwater at Eastern Point. The owners are very thoughtful and helpful, and are right next door if you need anything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Summerwind and would certainly recommend it.

Faribault, MN"Amazing!"
Left on 02/13/2012 for a stay in June 2010
We would just like to reassure travelers that the new "Summerwind Cottage" is going to be a wonderful experience. We rented Linda's studio back in 2010 and here's the review we wrote at that time: "We just got back from Gloucester and the "Sunset Serenade" studio last week. Our trip was so wonderful. The apartment is so cute! It is very cozy and well stocked! We made lobsters for dinner our last 3 nights! You can't beat walking 2 blocks and buying your own live lobsters! So fun! The apartment is in a quiet little neighborhood with a view of the harbor, so amazing to see at different times of day and changes weather conditions! Linda does a great job explaining the apartment. I was very pleased when we arrived. It was exactly as the pictures showed, and as was explained. The commuter train is close. We spent a day site seeing in Boston, highly recommended! Linda provides great suggestions for places to go, foods to try, and things to see! Sincce returning not only have I recommended the trip to friends and family, but also this rental. Would absolutely return again!"

Ithaca, NYGreat place to stay in Gloucester
Left on 02/09/2012 for a stay in August 2011
I'm quite sure that Linda's new "Summerwind Cottage" will be every bit as wonderful as her studio rental! My husband and I spent a week between two New England weddings at Linda's perfect studio (A Sunset Serenade) in august '11. It is indeed clean, peaceful, well stocked and beautifully decorated. Comfy. We did not have the best weather every day, but because there were two rooms (fully stocked kitchen), it was a good space in which to "hang out." Also there are many things to see and do in the area, rain or shine, and Linda has information about everything. The unit is attached to her home, yet it felt wonderfully private, and I enjoyed being in the town. I am partial to the New England coast in general - the sights, sounds, smells, and "feel" of seaport towns are my recipe for bliss. The view over the inner harbor from the bedroom/deck was all I needed. I did a lot of exploring on my own, but I would like to spend much more time in and around Gloucester. For the best lobster roll you've ever had in your life, go to Lobsta Land at the end of 128! It's also great fun to go out in the evening and listen to Linda sing (various spots around town) while you're in Gloucester. She's terrific. We took the train to Boston one day for a Red Sox game and dinner - that was fun and easy to do. If you're a walker, visit Halibut Point. There are lovely beaches nearby, and beautiful drives. To sum up, there couldn't have been a better place to stay and we highly recommend trying her new 2 bedroom "Summerwind Cottage" right next door! Kristin Stewart Ithaca, NY

Louisville, KYPerfect little getaway In Gloucester!
Left on 02/07/2012 for a stay in November 2011
I love, love, love this apartment! Spent a week there in the fall of 2011. The weather was perfect and I enjoyed many a sunset on the balcony with a great view of Gloucester Harbor.
The kitchen is modern and just right for one or two. We had everything we needed. Nicely decorated and well furnished, this is a great little hideaway. Easy to find, parking is right outside the door. The bed was comfortable (new mattress, I was told!) Bathroom is clean and modern with plenty of space for your toiletries.
Linda goes out of her way to ensure her guests know all about Gloucester, where to eat and what to do. She leaves brochures, maps and notes to make your stay more enjoyable. I even got to go to a local restaurant and hear her sing one night.
I enjoyed my stay so much that as soon as I got home, I booked another week for summer 2012.
The cottage next store was for sale and I seriously considered making an offer. Linda and Hank ended up purchasing it and are remodeling it for a second rental property. Can't wait to see how awesome this one will be!
Highly recommend this studio apartment!
