Great apartment, quiet neighbourhood, lovely view

Left on 12/05/2012 for a stay in November 2012

We had a lovely, relaxed stay at the apartment. The caretaker was friendly and helpful, the apartment was clean and well maintained. The location is close to all the good beaches and restaurants by car, and getting around was easy.
You do need to have your own transport, as this is a fairly quiet residential area, and public transport is not available nearby.

Exclusive affordability for your group of friends

Left on 11/16/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Dear all….trust me on this….a place can’t get any more professional as well as homely, and that too when it is located in Goa….hats off to Mr. Dominic and Ms. Lobo….they are really some of the best people, you would ever come across in hospitality field….this is the place to be, when you are in Goa, with your family or a group of friends….and in no means, this place is small...it is actually as big as it gets (maybe more so like a row house)….we went to this place in the month of august, with a group of 14 friends (and trust me, this place was still big for us to stay and sleep, and I think it could accommodate close to 18-20 people quite easily)….and now to mentioned the budget part….what we payed for the 2 nights, was far less (even less than half) , than what others vacation rentals had quoted us from Goa….though they call it a vacation rental, it is more so like a home, to most people like us….and please don’t even bother about pictures, of this place…the place is “as it is” like it looks during the virtual tour taken, on the website….very very pretty and beautiful….clean and cozy to stay….good chairs to sit, nice balcony to stand and view the superb view in front from your bedroom (not to forget the awesome bar sitting)….in addition, the place is located in an up market area and is very close to the main road (still ask for directions, if you get lost)….the TV. A/c, cutlery, curtains, covers, bed sheets…even the housekeeping was top notch (if I am correct his name is either Veeru or beeru)….for the 3 days that we stayed there, we could not come up, even with a single complaint against Ms. Lobo….and even while we had packed pug bags, the only thing we wanted to do more was “stay”….
(The only flip side, to this place is that no good eating joint is situated close by….plus you need a good source of transport at your service…and only suggestions to the owner would be….”Please put in some extra cutlery and dishes, as you would be getting 10+ guests many more times in the coming future”)…

If I have to sum up the experience in 1 word - it would be S-U-R-R-E-A-L... We were a motley group of 12, full with words to criticize anything and everything that came our way, and everyone was blown apart by the location and the overall decor of the house. Situated at about 2 kms from the Dona Paula Circle, this place offers you a great mix of solitude as well as fun!! In short:

      Decor - Excellent
      amenities - Excellent
      Location - Excellent
Overall experience - Worth every penny spent!!

Experience it once to understand why I am so gaga about it.

A word for Mrs. Lobo, our host, thanks a lot for your help.

The house was very well maintained and rooms were also furnished well. We had a family get together and all of us 4 families plus kids had ample space. The view from the family room and dining room was the best especially when the windows were opened out and the fresh air would flow through.

One of the best place to stay while in Goa

Left on 05/28/2012 for a stay in March 2012

Goa Vacation Home made our holiday perfect. We stayed for almost 10 days and the stay was such pleasant that my family and me are looking ahead to visit Goa once again. The location is perfect, with mornings greeted by chirping birds. The place is huge and clean. Support staff are very cooperative and keep the place clean and comfortable. The House itself gives a clear veiw of sea and the village downhills is so scenic that we preferred to stay indoors for two days to enjoy . Guest are suggested to arrange for self driven vehicle on rent and this will make the stay much better.

We were 4 couple friends looking out for an optimal stay at Goa for 4 days.
This apartment gave us just what we wanted, a great living room for all of us to unwind and celebrate together as well as individual spaces in our respective bedrooms. Peaceful surroundings and greenery with birds chirping welcomed us every morning. We had the convenience to cook as well in the kitchen and the apartment looks exactly how it is seen on the site :)
Yes, the beach is a lil far away , but everyone usually rents out a bike/ car .. so that was alright.
The Manager and the cleaner were helpful in all possible ways.
Truly we felt home away from home.

      Our memorable stay in Goa

Left on 05/01/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We've (4 adults, My wife Dad n Mom) spent 2 nights over last month in this beautiful bungalow.

When we arrived, it was kind of magical: the huge clean and well maintained rooms, the beautiful furniture & amazing view,...what is there more to say... kind & hearty lady Ms. Lourdes (property manager) is welcoming you, and not to forget housekeeping guy, they were all really helpful and nice people, who were very open .

You can enjoy the local food at your door step and also cook your own food. The landscape is beautiful and the beach not really far by car. However, a driver or a Taxi is mandatory. This place is little far from North Goa beaches and local markets.

I highly recommend this for singles, couples or even families who are looking for luxury and relaxation away from the more commercialised parts of Goa

Thanks soo much Dominic & Lourdes for Making our Stay a Memorable One! You guys really made us to feel at home here... We will definitely come again to this magical place!

      Cheers Roshan & Family

Spectacular home in the heart of GOa

Left on 02/24/2012 for a stay in February 2012

I just returned from GOa after spending 5 days with my family of 10. This splendid 4bed/4bath home was the highlight of our holiday - it's tranquil rural setting and fantastic views on three sides was truly an escape from all the mayhem on the main roads. The staff offered great hospitality and made sure the house is clean and comfortable at all times during our stay. Beeru was only a holler away if we needed anything and Miss Lobo, the property manager, went out of her way to accommodate our needs. She is an excellent virtual tourist guide as well having lived in GOa all her life. She was most kind to give us a ride to the nearby hospital when my husband fell sick on holiday and insisted she stayed until all was sorted out. Dominic, the owner of this beautiful home, is easy to work with and made the entire process of renting this home online a breeze.

I would certainly recommend this home to anyone who is looking to enjoy GOa from an ideal location and would most definitely stay here on my next trip as well.

Thanks Dominic, Ms Lobo, and Beeru for making our stay enjoyable.

This is a great place to rent especially if you are going in a group or with family. It is very conveniently located, close to the beaches. What we really enjoyed were the lovely views from the living room.
Ours was a family of nine, so having a kitchen and a living room was great, since it gave us the opportunity to have our morning tea and breakfast as a family and also gave us a place to sit down comfortably. Felt like home away from home! The caretaker, Dhiru, was very good.

      Value for Money

Left on 02/16/2012 for a stay in December 2011

We celebrated my sons first birthday at Dona Paula.Mrs Lobo, the housekeeper was there at the time of check in but she does not reside at the bungalow. However there is no inconvenience as such as the Nepali boy who stays on the ground floor is available to buy groceries, veggies tidy up the place and help with the utensils etc for a tip. The place is near to Cidade Goa, Dona Paula. If you are coming from the airport you may cross the right turn and may have to retrace back about 1 km coz the hoarding for nagalli Hills is visible if you are coming from the other side i.e Dona Paula direction! It is a society of bungalows on a hillock. We were 12 people.Extra beddings were ordered, but from Panjim and hence were quite expensive due to the transport cost! Cars for hire nos are available with housekeeper and the drivers were very courteous and on time and cars were in good condition. The smaller restaurants which are close by do have home delivery but food was not that great so please go out for food or cook yourself. The bungalow is ground plus 2 with parking space on the ground for 2-3 cars. There is no lift and senior citizens would have to climb 2 floors. Dona Paula is 5 minutes and Panjim 15. The place is great for a family to get together and spend time. Rooms are clean and the virtual tour on the website is "what you see is what you get". There is ample cross ventilation and balconies attached to all except 1 bedroom. Also some of the fan regulators were not working. The open kitchen and the drawing room do have blinders but no curtains so it gets a little hot in the day time. Utensils, Microwave, fridge, toaster are in place. Each room has aC as well. Had a pleasant stay with close family. Thanks to Dominic and team for this pleasant stay. Three and half stars out of five overall!

      Paradise on a budget!

Left on 09/29/2011 for a stay in September 2011

Traveling and making arrangements for 10 people is never easy. To find a place large enough to accommodate everyone and still be within your budget, is really an achievement. This is an ideal rental for friends / group of people who have plans in Panjim. 4 bedrooms, each with attached bath+toilet, large dining area, living room, kitchen equipped with a fridge, microwave, toaster, electric kettel, cooking range, this is an great deal. This way when you want, you can stay in, cook and enjoy the amazing view that the large windows and balconies offer.
The only thing disappointing is that this apartment is tucked into a neighborhood and isn't easily accessible from the road. So it becomes difficult to commute to different place. The only option is to hire cabs to and fro and all of them rip you off. This will function better if you have travelled in your own vehicle. or rent mopeds.
They should mention this before finalizing the bookings.

Good apartment but needs to match-up in Service

Left on 09/25/2011 for a stay in September 2011

We did have a good time. I must say that the apartment is really well-made & furnitures well maintained.

However, there were a few issues that we faced which kind off took away from it being a brilliant holiday.

      1) Electricity: The property has no inverters. The aCs switched off between 12am-8am. Also there was one night where there was no electricity at all.
      2) Service: An active Caretaker is needed. We had to push this one to get any work done. Although he was good at his work but just needs to be proactive.
      3) Basic amenities: Some very basic amenities like tongs, scissors, etc is missing. Also it would be great if basic supplies (milk, sugar, etc) were arranged at the time of check-in atleast for 1 day.

However, I am not taking away from the fact that the apartment is excellent. The views were awesome & the amenities were at par with any 3-4 star hotel. We did have a good time but there is potential to make it great.

The place to stay in Dona Paula, Goa

Left on 02/04/2011 for a stay in January 2011

The name - Goa Vacation Homes - is a little misleading as one expects a rabbit warren of tiny apartments, but instead is flabbergasted surprised by the gigantic four bedroom fully equipped flat one walks into. An experience I will always cherish will be sitting on the main balcony overlooking the bay listening to a Goan wedding playing traditional mandos in the distance, all the while, jamming with a rock concert in the other direction!
Another big plus is not just the peace of the neighbourhood; not being hassled by tourist traps, but also the efficient caretaker/security guard/oddjob boy - Viru.
We wish we could have stayed longer, or better yet, moved in permanently!

What you see is what you get - Great property

Left on 01/14/2011 for a stay in December 2010

I booked this property for a four day vacation in Goa with my extended family in India (4 families including my siblings' and parents). Following is a detailed account of my experience at this propert.
Checkin: We were driving from Hampi in Karnataka. Due to the road conditions we couldn't get to Goa in time and arrived at 12:30 am (just after mid-night). Lourdes Lobo, who is the manager of the property, was very patient and helpful in completing our check-in. She reassured me during my journey to Goa that there is no need to worry about checking-in and she will be awake as long as it takes for us to get there. This is just awesome.
Property inside: What you see in the pictures is what you get. The property is clean and beautiful. All the furniture is first-class and fixtures and utensils were of good quality. There was an issue with the bathroom faucet so I called Ms. Lobo and she had the problem taken care of right away.
Property location: It is in an upscale neighbourhood in Goa and is very close to the main highway in the city. Getting in and out of the location was very easy. One caveat is that the property is not on the beach, if someone is looking for it. It is about 1KM away from the closest beach. What it lacks in proximity to a beach, the property makes it up in views. Sitting atop a hill with no neighbours of same height, this property has spectacular views of the city (and the sea, of course). With glass windows all over the place, it had lot of ventilation.
Service: Ms. Lourdes was very friendly and courteous. She gave us tips and tricks of surviving in Goa and helped with our planning for the duration of our stay.

All in all, this is a great property to rent if you want to spend quality time with four or five families together.

We visited Goa during low season and enjoyed a week spent relaxing in this gorgeous apartment. We loved the big beds, air-conditioners, huge open plan living area (especially the amazing views)...

The location is perfect - walking distance from shops and restaurants, a short drive from the capital and the beach, and only half an hour from the top tourist spots (although we'd recommend hiring some scooters... such fun!).

The service was also wonderful, and we enjoyed being a bit removed from the tourist scene and able to meet some locals.

All in all, a brilliant week in a stunning apartment!

      Feel the comfort

With a reminiscent view, equipped dinky rooms and a silent environment, it is very hard to have a bad time there. Many thanks to Dominic

      Total Holiday Bliss

Left on 02/18/2010 for a stay in January 2010

This was second year running that we had rented this beautifully located and well equipped apartment. The location has such a breathtaking views. Once again the Manageress Mrs Loudres and the care taker Anand were very helpful in making our stay comfortable. All the bedrooms are very well furnished and as with the entire apartment very clean. The open plan kitchen and lounge area is ideal place to unwind. Without a doubt this apartment is far better value for money then a stay in a deluxe hotel. We hope to be back there next year.

Goa family vacation in Dona Paula

Left on 01/25/2010 for a stay in December 2009

Our family enjoyed our stay in Goa very much. The apartment there is lovely and was sufficiently spacious for even our large group (8 adults and 6 children). The living/dining room gave us space for games and doing things together which we could not have had at a hotel or resort. We found that the walk to the beach was not a difficult one and a couple of days we availed ourselves of the resort facility. The resort is quite expensive and we valued the discount. However, that did require some negotiation as the manager claimed the agreement with him was only for 2008. Also, the letter says we are to provide ID cards which we did not possess. We found that we could use the beach without depending on the resort.

It would be helpful if the apartment were supplied with a few staples like sugar, salt, pepper, flour at the beginning. We left behind what we ourselves had purchased and everything was in tight containers which should protect them from ants. It was very helpful to have the microwave, but the water kettle leaked and finally shorted and blew a fuse, so we stopped using it. Lourdes appeared reluctant to replace it, so we boiled water on the cooker. A few more kitchen items like a spatula to use with the teflon pans, a tea kettle and a coffee pot would be useful. Also, a peeler, a can opener, a bread knife and better quality frying pans (the handle on the current pan is broken).
Laundry is a bit of a problem: going to a laundromat takes time, so we could have used a laundry service or someone local willing to wash
clothing. We initially thought Anand would be willing to cook for us, but he wasn't. The takeout places were fine, although we had to get
used to the later dining time prevalent in Goa. It might be nice to have an annotated list of restaurants that are not far away. The resort is overpriced for their food; we had some great meals in Panaji, but that was a bit far to go for the evening when we had so many children.

than we expected! Wonderful panoramic views. Thanks to the manager (Lourdes)
and caretaker (Ananth) for taking special care of all our needs and making our
short vacation a truly enjoyable and memorable experience.
      We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed memorable stay in Donna Paula apt, the house is very beautiful. All bedrooms are well furnished and clean. The house is located on mountain hill and offer panoramic views of the sea and surrounded by green lush coconut trees. Perfect for family stays. The property manager was helpful in arranging airport pick up or with car rentals. I highly recommend this place for stay.

      Peaceful Paradise

Left on 01/01/2010 for a stay in December 2009

This property is idyllic, a peaceful retreat. The views are stunning
overlooking a canopy of Palm trees and a glimpse of the ocean. We did not
want to leave the lounge with its stunning 365 degree views.

Check in was a breeze and the property Manager Lourdes, was friendly and
knowledgeable about Goa and its attractions. The apartment was very
modern and fresh with all facilities- air con/ microwave/ cable TV. The
rooms were big and spacious. We made ourselves at home in no time.

Just a short 5 min drive to Donna Paula a major tourist spot, we could also
walk to a fantastic little bakery called Monginis selling snacks, cakes and
cold drinks. Plus there was a liquor shop next to it- very handy for beers
      etc.

Recommend you hire a bike or car to get around if not there are always
taxis that the caretaker can organize. We are definitely coming back and
      with our friends this time!!!
