      Amazing place

Splendid holiday. Very kind and courteous staff. Excellent food. Very peaceful and quiet place. Really a place where you feel nature. A truly unforgettable holiday . Will love to live this time and again. The only sad part was that we could not meet the owner as she is one person who during her absence also ensured that we were comfortable and well taken care of . It was indeed a very homely place with all possible comforts better than a hotel

Casa de Xanti is an extremely difficult place to leave; in fact we didn't want to! All your needs are catered for and then some! The owner is an amazing woman who bends over backwards to ensure you have the best possible stay. She can arrange taxi's with safe and reliable drivers to beaches that are within a 15-20 minute drive. The place is very quiet, clean, it is self contained and surrounded in a beautiful peaceful garden. The staff are fabulous, very helpful, friendly and terribly obliging. You must book in a stay!

Peaceful, calm and quiet - amazing food!

Left on 06/21/2011 for a stay in June 2011

The highlight of our stay was not the serene location, the magnificent mango tree or the lush greenery surrounding us. It was the food served at the Casa de Xanti by Mr. Chhotu Chauhan. We have lived in three different countries in numerous different locations, and we are of the opinion this is the best food we have ever had. Anywhere. Mr. Chauhan extended cooking to an art and the result was an amazing blend of flavors, texture and taste - absolutely out of this world.

My husband and I stayed at the Casa de Xanti to celebrate our wedding anniversary as well as take time off from our extremely busy lives. We found the perfect space at the Casa. Right from arranging airport pickup to organizing day trips to making sure we have all we need - this was one of the most relaxing holidays we have had.

if vacation is what one needs this is the place, it is just so beautiful. I was apprehensive if my family would approve of the place but they loved it and were all over the place.

The staff too were very warm and co-operative.

We are certainly coming back for more.

      Excellent and insulated

This place was awesome! It is massive and has tons of places to find a nice quiet spot to read, enjoy coffee/breakfast, or simply doze off.

It is well-insulated from more populated regions (but is not far from them), which makes the ambiance very serene and relaxing.

Mini is a terrific lady, and her staff is top notch, ready to take care of any and all needs. With the people there and such a beautiful place, you can't really go wrong! Highly recommend Casa de Xanti!

Like staying in a boutique hotel but with the comfort of home

Left on 03/13/2011 for a stay in February 2011

Casa de Xanti, located in south Goa is a beautiful Portugese style villa with separate cottages over two acres of land. You have the option of staying in the main villa or for added privacy you can rent one of the cottages on the property. Its easily accessible being only 10 minutes from the main railway station, 40 minutes from the airport (thats close according to Goa standards) and 10-15 minutes to the nearest beach.
The bedrooms are very comfortable, spacious, and well maintained. The in-house staff are attentive but never intrusive. My favorite time was when I was having morning coffee or an evening drink on the verandah beside the garden.
If it gets too peaceful, the owner Mini Tolani is always around to entertain you with stories of Goa and suggest the must see places off the beaten track.
I would definately recommend Casa de Xanti to people who want to get away from the five star experience and feel as if they actually lived in Goa even if its only for a weekend (but be warned, its hard to leave the place after only a weekend!!)

Left on 03/11/2011 for a stay in December 2009

Casa de Xanti is a Goa hidden treasure. The housing facilities, including the service are top rate. When you arrive you feel like you've landed in a magical home away from home, which encourages and helps you relax--exactly what a vacation to Goa should be! On such a large property, there are many little alcoves one can escape to for reading, day dreaming, sun bathing, etc. The staff, especially the owner, is there to make your visit exactly what you expect (and even more). They truly go above and beyond to make your stay absolutely wonderful. You will not be disappointed! The only thing sad about our trip was that we didn't stay long enough. (This was our poor planning. Xanti staff encouraged us to stay longer, so we could fully enjoy Goa. We should have listened). I look forward to returning to Goa, and would stay nowhere else. Thank you, Mini! You have truly given your heart to creating a home that vacationers will enjoy for a lifetime.

House of peace - a home from home

Left on 02/26/2011 for a stay in February 2011

We had been travelling round South India for over a month and planned to end our journey in Goa. We desperately needed an escape from the wear and tear of taxis, trains, rickshaws, the noise and the throng. Attracted by the enthusiastic reviews and the pictures of the lovely garden, we contacted Mini who was immediately helpful. Although she was away from the house when we stayed, the quality of the service we received from her staff of four was unequalled. She kept in constant touch with the staff and when needed with us to ensure we were happy and the stay was going well.

The cottage is elegantly and comfortably furnished with antique/collectable furniture and prints: this is the style of house we had envisaged ourselves staying in but hadn't found elsewhere. In practical terms, there was good air conditioning and bathing facilities, internet access, a TV and a kitchen where we could prepare our own food - very welcome after endless hotel and restaurant eating. On our arrival we were treated to an excellent and capacious meal, and every day we were served fresh juice in the morning and tea and biscuits at 4.30. Mini's neighbour kindly prepared us some local food another evening.

Surrounding the house was a lovely and lovingly maintained garden where we could sit in sun or shade and where we ate in the evenings. Each morning we would be awoken by bird song and venture out into the wonderful cool of the day. In the evenings, the insects took over the soundscape.

In terms of value for money, the daily rate compared more than favourably with many 3-4 star hotels but with a 5 star feel. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Casa de Xanti to friends and the readers of Trip advisor.

Left on 02/12/2011 for a stay in January 2011

Xanti is a fabulous place to stay and Mini aunty an outstanding and warm host! If you don't mind a bit of a drive to the beach and want a quiet yet fun place all to yourself- then Xanti is ideal. The cottage is homely and extremely comfortable. The garden around the cottage and the spacious rooms are a welcome relief from the usual hotels of goa- with the dogs and hammock- one can easily spend days here without missing the beach. The front porch is a super place to party or just chill out with friends or all by yourself. Definitely recommended- for a romantic/fun/relaxed goan holiday. Mini aunty is very helpful & great with recommendations for food places, beaches etc. The prawn curry her cook makes, the home grown bananas and papaya are a must try!... If you're an artist/ designer- then I can say without a doubt that if u get here once, you'll keep wanting to revisit!!

Casa de Xanti, run by Mini, is a perfect vacation home for those who want a peaceful and serene time in Goa. The house is very comfortable, away from maddening beaches of North Goa, and yet so near to South Goa beaches. Mini took care of every little detail - from coffee to food to goan bread. Highly recommended ++

As my husband and I were going to write and prepare an exhibition, we were looking for a house a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the beaches in Goa. The Casa de Xanti was exactly what we were looking for: beatiful, comfortable, and surrounded by a large and shady garden. The owner, Ms Mini Tolani, and her staff are very kind, considerate, and helpful in every way. If one chooses, the staff will also clean and prepare the food.
The village is quiet, and the surrounding countryside lovely. Bicycles and a scooter are also available. The beaches are reached in 30-40 minutes by car; we usually hired the local taxi.
      We will absoluly recomend it

Went to Goa with my wife, 1 month old son and dog. Called up Mini in the morning and checked in around mid-night. we had a fabulous time at the villa. When we went to the city our dog had a good time running around the garden and barking at Minis 6 dogs (who are in a separate/attached compound).

The house is close to a popular beach, but more importantly for us, close to quite a few quiet and empty beaches where our dog could run free.

The garden is very beautiful with a well equipped kitchen and very helpful and friendly staff.

We will definitely be going there again soon.

Being an exponent in Yoga and Meditation, I could have not found a better place for my 'Saadhna'.
Mid august- lush greenery , cool breeze and the soft voice of the rains... Casa De Xanti is idyllic. This
place exudes 'Shanti' which is so elusive in our day to day existence...
I found the perfect place to unwind.
Not to mention the food, the people, the lovely dogs, long walks amongst stretches of eye soothing green. Oh! an ethereal experience.

      Casa di awesome

Left on 08/31/2010 for a stay in August 2009

Casa di xanti, as the name suggests, gave me the chance to just sit back and enjoy some of life's greatest yet often forgotten gifts. Take for example, the hammock under the mango tree where I'd lay back and enjoy a good book under the sun while also being protected by the shade of the tree, or taking a stroll around town greeted by goats and cows and little ponds. It's the little differences that make casa di xanti so hard to forget. I'm sure all of those who have stayed here at some point in their life would agree with me when I say that life was truly free when staying in this house of peace. Robert Frost wrote,
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
Casa di xanti is this road. I would most definitely come back here and definitely recommend it for everyone.

Casa de Xanti was absolutely delightful. My room and especially my bed were the best I'd had in India on my two month trip. It was so clean, quiet and luxurious. The beaches were only a relatively short distance by motorcycle or auto, however I only went to the beach for one day; I was quite happy to stay at Casa de Xanti for the rest of the time, and I found it a welcome respite from the hectic pace of big-city India. The gardens there are lovely, well tended, diverse and packed with local fresh grown treats. I found the staff to be wonderful, friendly and competent. All of the the food was delicious and served without any fuss or bother. I would definitely recommend Casa de Xanti to friends or family and urge you to give it a go. A great spot!

Wonderful house with greenery all around - some very playful dogs that give a sense of security - located in a very safe and quiet part of Goa - away from all the noisy areas. its also conviniently located as some of goa's best beaches are a short drive away. Mini tolani and her team made us feel very welcome and arranged for taxi's when required.

The house has an old Goan/Portugese unique charm to it and its a much better experience of Goa as compared to the boring hotels.
