My husband and I stayed at the Gold Run house this past weekend and had an absolute blast! Diane has installed an outdoor shower which is amazing and feels great when you get out of the hot tub. This house is close to some wonderful lakes, mountain trails and cute little mountain towns which are worth experiencing. We hiked to Codfish Falls on Saturday which was a wonderful jaunt along the american River and very close to the Gold Run location. I highly recommend this house - beautiful location - beautiful house - very cool owner - very relaxed atmosphere. Thanks Diane for a super great weekend at Gold Run!

We stayed at Diane's house one winter weekend when we were looking for a place near Tahoe (we planned to ski) where we could stay with our two dogs. Diane's was perfect! Diane even walked our two dogs for us while we were skiing! She is lovely!
The home is in a rustic neighborhood, and you really feel like you are out in the wilderness. At night there are all sorts of interesting animal sounds that we've never heard in Marin. We liked the area so much that we decided not to ski the second day and, instead, went on a beautiful hike (walkable from the property) that would down to the river where people used to search for gold. (Diane even provides gold panning sifters, if you are feeling lucky.) One of the neighborhood labs joined us on our hike and it was a good thing - he knew directly where to take us at every fork in the road. (Don't forget water, even if it is not hot.)
My six year old really enjoyed the spa and my twelve year old loved playing ping pong so much that I bought him a ping pong table for his birthday when we got home!!
Mountain House is not your typical Tahoe rental, but it turned out to be such an adventure that it is one special family weekend that we will treasure forever. Thanks, Diane!! -

My wife and I have stayed here several times. We live near the beach and love the mountains for a get-away from our busy lives.
We love how Diane (the owner) has the house set up. We enjoyed the ping pong, the huge deck, the hammocks and especially the spa at night under the stars.
It's a great place for a vacation or just a weekend away. We definitely recommend it and we will be back.
