Architect designed, timber frame house built in 2005, with a floor area of approximately 3,000 sq. ft. Three bedrooms are on the lower floor, together with laundry facilities, access to the hot tub, and a double garage. A new, fourth bedroom recently added. The first floor is open plan with vaulted ceilings and large windows with views to the mountains and out across the Columbia River valley. There is a large lounge area with satellite TV, DVD, a formal and informal eating area, the den, and a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar. There is a covered deck at the front of the property suitable for BBQs. The house is set in its own plot wi...th simply landscaped gardens and its own locally crafted 'Inukshuk'. The property is situated about 300m from the base of the main gondola giving access to the ski and mountain bike terrain of the Kicking Horse mountain. It is a 10 minute drive from an excellent golf course in Golden. Located conveniently for visits to Banff and Lake Louise.

Day trips: Inukshuk is a nucleus for site seeing and adventure in the Canadian Rockies. Within 1 1/2 hours drive time you can reach Banff, Lake Louise, Emerald lake Lodge, Rogers Pass, Radium Hot Springs, Invermere, Revelstoke. All worth a visit.

Play on the excellent Golden Gold Course, located in the valley next to the Columbia River.

Go fishing / hunting.

Great local attractions include the Northern Lights Wolf Centre and Buffalo Ranch open to visitors, located in the Blaeberry Valley.

Wildlife: you can see in safety Boo the Grizzly Bear, plus visit Bison and Wolves in the Blaeberry Valley (30 - 40 mins drive).

Mountain Biking: Use the gondola in the summer to descend from the summit at Eagles Eye, 7,700 ft to the base of the gondola at 4,000ft. Annual Downhill Race with top competitors travelling from all over BC and Alberta.

The house is located in Kicking Horse Resort above the town of Golden, British Columbia. Golden is on the main Trans Canada Highway - the primary east west route - about two and a half hours drive from Calgary. Vancouver is seven to eight hours drive further west. Golden is on the Columbia river at the confluence with the Kicking Horse river. The valley runs north south and is part of the Rocky Mountain trench. The location is ideal for easy access to other resort areas; Banff, Lake Louise, Canmore, Radium Hot Springs, and Invermere, all with one and a half to two hours drive time.

The house itself is located on Golden Avenue, a cul de sac of just 15 houses, approximately 300m from the base of the gondola, the main lift access from the centre of the resort to the top of the local mountain and the Eagle's Eye restaurant. Golden Avenue is the third turning on the right after passing the gondola.

Golf: www.golfgolden.com. Excellent golf course in Golden, close to the Columbia River. Golden's 11th hole rated best par 4 in BC. Other great courses nearby at Invermere and Canmore

Ski: Kicking Horse Mountain Resort has the second highest vertical in Canada (after Whistler), but because it is inland has better snow - champagne powder.

The resort is better suited to the competent skier/boarder as many of the runs are challenging, but there are good beginner areas and a very capable snow school.

There are cross country and snow shoeing trails. Dawn Mountain Nordic Club.

The Eagle's Eye restaurant at the top of the gondola has won the award for the best mountain restaurant in North America for three years in succession - great food, but not expensive.
