Able to sleep six people across three bedrooms, the property is an ideal base for a family exploring this beautiful area of Wales. This former milking parlour on the owner's 20-acre beef cattle smallholding is a semi-detached conversion on the outskirts of the village of Golden Grove. Three miles from Llandeilo, this pretty property offers simple, spacious accommodation whilst retaining many of its exposed beams and stone walls. Guests to this charming cottage can enjoy walks on the owners’ land – including their acre of woodland. This pretty home-from-home is well situated for the renowned resorts of Saundersfoot and Tenby, as w...Read more

      Dissapointed.

Left on 09/28/2011 for a stay in September 2011

Everything in the decription of this cottage was false and it no longer exists!.
'Guest's can walk on owners land, which includes an acre of woodland', was informed by the owner that the walks were inaccessable as they hadn't being maintaned, and was told the nearest was a park a mile and a half away.
'A conversion of a former milking palour on the owners 20 acre beef cattle smallholding' there was no cattle and was told by sykes cottages they had being sold due to weather conditions!.
There was what appeared to be old parts of buildings right outside the kitchen window.
The patio was completely overgrown with stinging nettles.
to top it off no fire extinguisher in a house with a log burning stove?
Mice running around the living room and was told by sykes that i should of complained to owner about this, I felt that i had not come away to be constantly phoning the owner!. obviously they do not check the these cottages.
      Avoid!

Thank you for your review. As you are aware we have been dealing with your complaint and liaising with the owner on your behalf. The owner was surprised that you made these comments especially as you did not raise any of these issues with them during your stay despite them residing on the same site. The woodland is just that and does not have clear cut paths however guests are encouraged to explore and wellington boots are provided for this purpose. The property is located in the countryside and as such there may be little visitors at times and the owners would have been willing to act immediately to address the problem had they been made aware. The owner disputes that the patio was overgrown although some of the farmland around the property had not been tendered. The owner also takes the personal health and safety of his guests extremely seriously and is satisfied that no-one is at risk when holidaying in his property. We are sorry that you were disappointed with your stay however we consistently receive good feedback for this property and apologise if it did not meet your own personal expectations.

      Exploring South Wales

Left on 12/02/2009 for a stay in August 2009

Once we had found the cottage, it proved a great base to explore the beautiful delights of the Cardiff, Swansea and Gower area. We booked the cottage for a week for my wife and me, along with our son and his wife and their two young children (age 4 and 3). In the past two years we had managed similar holidays in Northern France, but because of work commitments, we had to settle for somewhere nearer to home this year. We were not disappointed.

It was ideal for us. We were comfortable and all on offer in the cottage was good. There were even a couple of pubs within a short drive that provided excellent inexpensive meals. We were lucky with the weather and this certainly helped. It only rained on one day. I would be quite happy to return here.
