What Past Guests Are Saying
Beautiful, relaxing week.
Perfect cabin for a family. There are canoes, paddleboats for use on Jones Pond (400+ acre pond). Good fishing and relaxing times. 45 minutes to Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park. 15 minutes to Schoodic Point (Acadia also). Not on the beaten path and very affordable. Been staying here for many years and would go back any time.

A Cottage That Will Keep You Returning Year after Year
We have been staying at Jones Pond Cottages almost yearly since 1969. The Cedar Cottage combines modern amenities with country charm. Everything you need for your stay is at your fingertips. We have prepared the most wonderful meals in the kitchen using local fruits and vegetables. The cottage is comfortable and makes you feel at home. Looking out the front windows you can see Jones Pond and the dock. Imagine standing on the deck on a clear night and looking at the beautifully clear sky. Standing on the dock you can look at the tranquil waters of Jones Pond. Our children love boating on the pond either by canoe or paddle boat. The sounds of nature fill the night air. The cottage is located only minutes away from the Schoodic Point section of acadia National Park. This section of the park is the most beautiful and most often missed part of the park. Frasiers Point offers a beautiful picnic area and a pier for salt water fishing. Lobster boats constantly raise and lower their traps close by. The small town of Winter Harbor is only a few miles away and is an example of true americana. Local artisans are around every corner. Believe us, there are many corners! Travel is an adventure in this area! You never know what will be beyond the next turn. Ellsworth offers a bit of city life along with some great restaurants. The lights of Bar Harbor can be seen from the end of Jones Pond. Across the road is the inlet from the ocean. You can see fresh water of Jones Pond and across the road you see the atlantic Ocean. We have recommended this location to so many friends and family that we have lost count! They keep coming back for the same reasons we do. We certainly recommend the Cedar Cottage and the beautiful surroundings to everyone. Enjoy your vacation!
