It is a great place to stay, the appartement has everything you need! The owner is very friendly and the dogs are very cute. The roof terras is fabulous during day warm and 24hours great vieuw. The garden is a dream with a lot of little places to in the sun and shade. The pool was still to cold but lovely to take a sunbath on the chairs near the pool. You do need a car there or walk a lot to f.e.Motril centre. We had a very good holiday

Cologne, GermanyRelaxing romantic getaway ...
Left on 10/08/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We were looking for a romantic getaway where we could escape city life. This is just what we were looking for. We spent many days just relaxing by the wonderful pool. We spend nights grilling on our terrace and looking at the stars. This was a perfect vacation for us because we were able to spend some days relaxing at the Cortijo Nuevo and also spent time traveling around the area of Granada, Sierra Nevada, Malaga and other small towns in the area. Patrick was very kind and helpful and I would recommend this place to friends and family.

Roskilde, DenmarkPrivate oasis with ambience and poolside relaxing
Left on 07/27/2012 for a stay in July 2012
My husband, our 2-year old and myself stayed at El apartemento for 8 days in July 2012. Upon our arrival late at night it was really nice that the fridge was filled with water, juice and milk, and bread, fruit, sausage and cheese was there for us to enjoy. And champagne! What a nice and thoughtful service by Mr. Patrick Sanderson, whom we found very nice - an english gentleman in the midst of Spain. The garden surrounding the apartment is a oasis with small enjoyable sceneries with fountains and figures. The pool is perfect for a family with small children, our son had great joy with it. And when our son was sound a sleep in the baby cod available in the apartment, we sat on the roof top patio with candles, a buddha fountain and mojitos. Very very nice. The location is somewhat secluded, so a car is necessary, but once you know the area, there is short drives to beaches and towns. During our stay we visited alhambra and Granada, the cave, Malaga, Almunieca and the Sierra Nevada and white villages.

It was a wonderful and relaxing stay. The garden is beautiful and peaceful. We were very comfortable in the house. Nice bed, full kitchen with all the supplies you need. It was a home away from home feeling. It is close enough to explore other areas on small day trips. Close to beach towns and at the foot of the mountains. A nice place to relax and get away from all the noise.

Left on 08/20/2011 for a stay in August 2011
First of all,I never felt more welcome in a rental ever before ..It was so well thought out, everything was there ,music, eclectic books and dvd's .. milk bread something to eat to drink,to clean plenty of sheets towels, A romantic sleeping room ,with by the way great matrasses,a charming livingroom where you felt at home right away ... , And what I most of all apreciate was the charming atmosphere in the beautifull garden ,where you could hide in the shadow under a banana tree or stare at the beauty of colors of so many different plants and flower trees ,enlightened in the evening by lanters and the moon.Every place had his own special touch ,like the swimming pool where you could see the special handwork of designed tiles from an artist, that has her shop in a little village in the mountains nearby..We sat on the roof to see the sunset and the stars at night ,or in the early morning to see the sun come up,and have breakfast, to make plans for the day...the owner gives you all the privacy you need as you roam the property from one fountained niche to the next...a perfect little country getaway for those who want to avoid the big tourism but still be near the ocean..oour only regret is that we couldn't stay longer... And yes, we will definetely return!

AtlantaGreat value
Left on 07/19/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We loved our week in Patrick's place. We rented the apartment with our 2 children, the accommodation is a little tight for 4, but that was our choice. The apartment is very private, with a small and a large private roof terrace with grill. The gardens are wonderful, the pool area with grill is great and Patrick is the perfect host. The house is 10 minutes from the beach, close to interesting villages, and under an hour from Granada. The only downside to the place is that it is in the middle of greenhouses, and during the tomato season the farmers start working around 6 am to beat the midday heat.

Buxworth, Derbyshire, UKFab place to stay...Great spot for exploring andalucia...
Left on 05/22/2011 for a stay in July 2010
We recently returned from El apartamento and are already discussing when we will go back...if I say that in all our years of holidaying we have never been back to the same place twice, then this is an indication of how much we loved it. Everything you could possibly need within the apartment and outside has been thoughtfully provided by the charming owner, Patrick. The pool area, complete with honesty fridge, sun beds, fountains, BBQ area and sink is set in lush gardens which are a riot of colour. As advertised you do need a car as the property is in an agricultural area, however, it is a fantastic base and you can be in the nearest town, Motril, within 10 minutes. We were in Granada (a must visit city) within 50 minutes and spent some time exploring the beautiful alpujarran villages, which really are a must see. Locally and around this is not a touristy area, to our delight, we never even heard anyone speaking English.
Local supermarkets have everything you need, huge array of fresh fish and meat. There are plenty of restaurants and bars and many other places slightly further afield to check out.
All in all a fab place to stay and a great spot for exploring andalucia. -

BarnsleyRelaxing garden oasis.
Left on 08/04/2010 for a stay in July 2010
El apartmento is garden oasis where we relaxed in privacy under the shade of a beutifully planted garden, sunbathed on our own secluded terrace before cooling off at the pool. The aparment ten mins. from salobrena, shares the grounds with the owner and a second small rented property, though we hardly noticed until we meet at the pool at the bottom of the gardenl. All the amenties you would normally expect are provided making our stay a pleasure and we would happly return.

this quiet and peaceful apartamento is a rare gem to be found on the south coast of spain.
it offers a wonderful garden to relax and get lost in.
it's position allows for exploring inland...up into the mountains and national parks, with the most breathtaking scenery.
patrick, the owner of this delightful hideaway is always ready to oblige in any way he can.
after spending six weeks at the apartamento, it was a tough call to return back to 'the real world'.
many thanks patrick...we hope to see you again!!

Left on 07/07/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We've just returned from an 8 day break at El apartmento. If leave would have permitted, we would have loved to have stayed on longer.
We wanted a relxed holiday, but with a special feel as we celebrated our anniversay and birthday whilst at the apartment. We read lots of reviews before booking, and we certainly made the right choice.
Patrick was really helpful before and during our stay. He's created a really welcoming and relaxed atmosphere ,which is worth 5 stars! Apart from enjoying chatting with Patrick we loved the bonus of spending some time with his dogs Ben and Jerry! .
Our favourite times at the apartment were on the private rooftop terrace, which has a lovely breeze and stunning views. Pool/summer kitchen area both day and night.
Getting around the area was easy with a car, and we enjoyed a trip up into the mountains and visited a few local seaside towns. We found the area was really good value for quaily food and drink. Looking forward to a return trip! -

We stayed in the apartmento for a few days after touring in Andalucia to relax, for which the place is perfect. We especially enjoyed the private terrace on the roof top of the apartmento that gave me nice tan from spending siestas there and where light at sunsets allows to take beautiful photos of both mountins and the sea. The garden with many hidden corners for chilling and grilling is also lovely and a fine DVD collection in the aparment a nice bonus. The owner is helpful and always available when needed.
We certainly recommend the place to everyone who appeciate more than resorts full of tourist traps have to offer. -

Left on 05/07/2010 for a stay in April 2010
My parents and I spent a very nice time at the Apartamento. Patrick is very kind, helpful and not intrusive at all. The two dogs are very well educated.
We found everything we needed in the Apartamento, and we feeled like staying in the middle of the trees, that was very pleasant and different for us! The garden is a real dream, with its fountains. We tasted the avocadoes (very good and tasteful).
We also appreciated a lot the area that remains Spanish, we got used to the greenhouses and it was finally a way to discover an unknown aspect of Spain. In brief, we highly recommend the Apartamento and we hope to come back someday. Just a suggestion to Patrick : a map from Puntalon to the Cortijo would be helpful the first time people go to the Nuevo Cortijo! Thank you again for everything, hasta luego!
