The home is made up of two separate buildings, both facing the beautiful waters of the Laguna. The main house has a fully equipped kitchen, two dining areas, a huge covered patio and a bedroom with bath. The living space is open aired and you can enjoy the cool breezes off the laguna while enjoying the sounds of nature. We ended our 10 day stay in Granada with 3 nights in this beautiful house in Lago de apoyo. Pictures don't do this place justice.It offers a stunning view of the lago. All 4 bedrooms were comfortable and air conditioned, although we didn't use the aC due to the constant wind coming off the lake. "Natural aC !
The water was fairly warm and very refreshing. The float out in the lake was great for sunning of diving off. wilmer, the house manager has done a beautiful job with the landscaping. Awesome flowers and trees growing over the property. Make sure you wake up and catch a sunrise over the lake. We were there in the "windy month", April but the wind kept the heat down and provided some fun waves too! There is a lovely kitchen with modern facilities but you need to bring everything if you want to cook. Be sure to visit one of the larger grocery stores because there are no real food stores near the house. A small pulperia is about a mile or so walk and it does provide some foodstuff and beer and wine. There were a lot of little bugs in the air at night that are attracted by the lights but we saw no mosquitos. And if you do not want to cook, Wilmer's wife will prepare you a meal for a reasonable fee. And the house is only a 2 minute walk to a small resort that has a restaurant.
Lago de apoyo is a great place to base yourself for any tours of the Masaya area too. After spending a few days there, I can't imagine visiting Granada again without booking into the house for a few "chill out" days.
