Left on 04/28/2013 for a stay in April 2013

This is the most fantastic villa in a beautifully designed setting. The pool is exquisite, cool and peaceful in a zen setting. A great place to chill out and relax. Indrani the housekeeper looked after us wonderfully - she makes this special place a real home from home. Her cooking is real Mauritian cuisine - delightful and plentiful! The villa really is 150m from a beautiful beach and completely private. We recommend taking a day trip with Robert on his speed boat - exploring the coves and tropical islands in and around Mauritius. The organisation from booking through to welcome at the villa was excellent, couldn't have been easier - thank you Shirley. A real holiday to remember!

We've enjoyed the Villa Beau Manguier and its beautiful pool and tropical garden very much.
Upon our arrival we've recieved a warm welcome by the owner and the maid who cooked a delicious chicken curry for lunch.
The location in a quiet residential area and close to the beach is fantastic. The villa itself is beautifully decorated and maintained.
We would definitely come back to this beautiful nest! -

Left on 05/13/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We enjoyed this Villa for 4 nights in the Grand baie area. The villa was great as you had a local bus about 30 metress away and you could then go and visit other nearby beaches and towns very easily. It was a nice retreat to come back to in the heat of the day and just relax by the pool. The gardens were immaculate as was the villa.
I'd definately recommend this villa to fussy travellers.
My only suggested improvements would be some luxury bedlinen and pillows to match the high standard of the accomodation.Response from Luxury villa with private pool in Grand Bay - 05/19/2012
Luxury villa with private pool in Grand Bay
Owner
Dear Mrs Anderton
Thank you for your general good appreciations on your stay with us but I was surprised by your comment on the fact that the bedlinen and pillows were not luxurious enough. First of all, Beau Manguier is not a luxury villa as we describe it on Flipkey and Trip Advisor as chic and understated. Secondly our bedlinen and pillows are all made of 100% Egyptian cotton and we purchase it from the same place in Mauritius where most 5 star hotels do their shopping.

We have just returned to Snowy England after a fantastic stay at this Villa in the Sun for 2 weeks at the end of January 2012.The villa is exactly as described maybe even better when you first arrive with the great reception from Shirley and Indranee.
Indranee took great care of us and cooked many memorable meals including fish barbecues which she went shopping for to save us wasting valuable sun bathing time. The pool area is lovely and we spent most mornings in the Mauritian sun and not to far away from cooling down in the great pool.As with other comments the boat trip with Robert which included a BBQ lunch on a small island is definitely recommended even if we did get 10 mins of rain while stranded on our dessert Island which seemed to make it even better, so was the snorkeling in a Mangrove swamp which was a first for us. We shall be back as they say, but this time it's a must do.

Left on 01/03/2012 for a stay in November 2011
We were lucky enough to stay in the Beau Manguier Villa for 9 days at the beginning of November. The villa itself is absolutely wonderful with everything you could possibly need for a really relaxing holiday. The pool area is lovely and we spent many happy afternoon's soaking up the Mauritian sun from the padded sunbeds! The Villa is situated far enough out of town to feel private and secluded yet it is within easy walking distance of a well stocked supermarket and all the restaurants and bars of Grand Bay. The owners of the villa were a lovely couple who couldn't have been more helpful. They assisted us with arranging airport transfers as well as organising day trips and tours of the island. We'd highly recommend the boat trip with Robert which included a BBQ lunch on a small island! We would definitely recommend this Villa to anyone and hope to come back again in the future!

Left on 10/31/2011 for a stay in October 2011
We had a wonderful and relaxing week at the Beau Manguier Villa. Shirley, the owner, is
such a kind person. She takes care that everything is perfect. The Villa is really
beautifully furnished in a quiet surrounding. The pool area is so lovely, you don´t need to
go anywhere else. But if you want, there is a beautiful, sandy and quiet beach 200 metres
to go. It´s not easy to find, but Shirley explains it very well.
The housemaid Indranee is really the heart of the villa. It was a pleasure to meet her. She
prepared very delicious meals every day, so we never ate out. Our children also liked it
very much. We really miss her.
We had no problems with mosquitos during our stay. You get everything you need in the
supermarket nearby. We recommend to rent a car to go around and see all the beautiful
places of the island.
For us it was even more relaxing than every hotel and we travel a lot. We enjoyed these
days very much and we hope to come back soon. Highly recommended. -

Leicester, EnglandBeautiful villa, wonderful holiday
Left on 10/04/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We had a wonderful holiday staying at the Beau Manguier Villa. The Villa had every comfort you could wish for, beautifully furnished (including wi-fi), privately situated but just 200 metres from a beautiful beach (with a slightly tricky access not suitable for some but worth it) and 500 metres from bars, restaurants and a small well-stocked supermarket. On arrival we were met with cocktails, a good basic shopping pack and a lovely pre-prepared meal - which after a long trip was a delight. Our maid, Indrani, was heaven sent and added a real touch of luxury with her quiet efficiency and wonderful cooking (arranged separately). Shirley, the owner was a great help too in making our stay comfortable helping us, amongst other things, with airport transfers, a boat trip ( a fantastic day out with Robert!) and hire of a car. Hire of a car is absolutely recommended (but stick to the speed limits!) to see the best of this beautiful island. (For UK travellers local exchange rates marginally better than in UK so bring some local rupees with you to start off with but then buy locally). All in all we felt the Villa afforded more luxury and flexibility than a 5 star hotel! Anybody who goes will have a fantastic holiday. Highly recommended.

Left on 09/27/2011 for a stay in September 2011
What a wonderful surprise to have such a smooth transaction and then everything just fell into place from being collected at the airport, greeted by Shirley the owner and our beautiful housemaid Indranee.
The villa is very spacious, with a very luxurious Master bedroom suite downstairs, another smaller master bedroom upstairs and 2 more bedrooms. The villa has 4 toilets and 3 bathrooms. Indranee maintains a very clean household and will do the laundry each day, cook and shop for the ingredients for the meal (3Euro per person) and assist in any way required. She is a dream.
The outdoor area is a tropical paradise with a slate lined pool and a lovely thatched gazebo, outdoor dining, BBQ etc. The grounds and pool are maintained 4 x a week. The outdoor area is secure and has an alarm system for outdoors as well as the house.
Grand Bay has some very nice affordable eateries. We liked La Bistro for the best steak ever from australia (Harvey Beef) and Luigi's next door to it had a wonderful atmosphere and of course Pizza and Spag dishes as well as the same great quality beef. We recommend getting a taxi especially at night. The roads are not the best and lack of footpaths. Taxi fare is only aust/us $3..worth it!
Shirley can organise trips around the Island and Beauty treatments as well as all sorts of other things as well as fine wines.
Wine and alcohol can be purchased at the local supermarket..wines from France, Australia, South africa and of course all sorts of flavoured rum from Mauritius! The cost of wine was very reasonable. There is a supermarket that stocks most needs about 500 metres away.
All in all a great place for a nice relaxing holiday away from all the hustle and bustle of the town and close enough for a walk or taxi ride.. Enjoy...we did!!

The two of us had the pleasure of staying in this absolute haven of tranquility and beauty for 10 days. The hospitality of the owners, Shirley and armand, and the discrete way we were taken care of by the lovely maid made our vacation absolutely memorable.
The villa is just like the pictures and is designed and decorated with taste and eye for lovely details. Beau Maguier is well appointed and offers all the facilities (and more!) you need for your holiday. We especially enjoyed lazy afternoons and evenings in the gazebo/kiosk the villa features, ofcourse accompanied by a freshly made Bloody Mary or a good glass of wine.
Make shure to rent a car (the owners will be very happy to arrange it for you) to get around the island and to see all the spots we were told about by Shirley and the maid. There's a lovely tranquil sandy beach at just 200 meters from the villa, but for some more action and a larger beach we suggest to go to Mont Choisy or Pereybere public beach. The pictures we made there are the ones you see on all the postcards..;-)
Besides enjoying the great cooking of the maid (which is available at a small extra charge that you pay directly to the maid), we used the services of the recommended massage expert, Jacqueline. What a relaxing experience that was! She also does manicure and pedicure when you wish.
The boat trip with Robert, also arranged by our lovely hosts, was spectacular. He took us out for a trip for the whole day. We didn't go to the small islands frequented by all other companies that offer boat trips, but where the only ones on a mangrove island and visited Ilot Bernache for a lovely well prepared barbecue. At the end of the day we where so lucky to be surrounded by four dolphins and we even got the chance to swim with them!
All in all a trip to sheer paradise. Villa Beau Manguier is highly recommended to everyone. We're already planning to go back with our to kids of 3 and 4 years old! -

From the day we entered the Villa, greeted by Shirley and Indrani, till the day we left, we felt like we where in paradise. The villa is 100% more beautiful than the pictures and words described on the website. I had to remind myself I was not dreaming when I work up every morning to this beautiful scene.
Some tips:
Be sure to use mosquito repellent, they loved the Villa as much as I did and needed a blood donation from me.
The beach is a bit out of the way for older people, my grannies could not manage the walk.
Indrani (The housekeeper and cook) made better food than the hotels and assisted us in shopping, getting taxis and advice with where to go.
Mauritius is a beautiful place with beautiful and friendly people.
I hope I can visit again soon. I already miss the Villa so much.Response from Luxury villa with private pool in Grand Bay - 07/02/2011

Dear Neressa
Thank you for your kind words and i am glad you enjoyed you stay at our villa.
It's true there has been more mosquitoes on the island in April-May this year because there was a lot of rain in March and April (unusual). Despite the mosquito electric repellents we put in each bedroom, you should have let us know and we would have asked Indrani to put a few more on the terrace as well.
We hope to see you back soon

I''ve had the great opportunity to rent this beautiful home bathed in an atmosphere of calm and relaxation! The house is beautiful and reminds me a lot of these beautiful places that can be easily found in Bali. The decoration is done with professionalism and subtlety! The owners are very attentive to their tenants. I''ve really enjoyed this young couple for their hospitality, kindness and dedication! Indranee is a pearl that is there everyday to make your stay more than perfect! She is the true pearl of the Indian Ocean, smiling, available and superb cook and most of all she is very discreet. I've been coming to Mauritius for 22 years now and it''s the first time I rented a villa and did it because I came with friends. I can say I do not regret this new experience! This home is high class! It is located between Grand Bay and Pereybere and this location is perfect for shopping, finding good restaurants, etc.. Our two lovely owners will be happy to advise you on all things to do on the Island! Do not miss the opportunity for the speedboat cruise on the sea - we had no time to experience this :-( but I'm sure that this is a "must do"! I wish you all the best holidays ever in Villa Beau Manguier! I did :-)

The location of the villa near Grand Baie is ideal to enjoy the sea with the family and then the privacy of the Villa with its beautiful swimming pool.
The design of the villa is truly authentic yet very refined with a vast terrace, a garden with mango trees.
The 4 rooms can accomodate 6 adults (and 2 babies) plus 2 children. The level of service is that of an upscale hotel with a private cook Indrany with exquisite Mauritius and Indian cuisine, and gardeners, swimming pool service.
We enjoyed a wonderful 10 days stay given the very reasonnable price.
An experience we all 5 adults recommend warmly, needless to say the children who were like in Paradise! -

We , a family of parents, children and a granddaughter of 14 months old,had chosen the villa after seeing the pictures and reading the comments on the web. So our expectation was high and right after the warm welcome of Shirley and Indranee we felt at ease and at home.Due to the excellent cooking of Indranee no worries about the meals or cleaning the house.
Enough space and bathrooms for the whole family and we just lived on the well furnished terrace.Pool was cold but beautiful.Enough well equipped sun beds, big towels etc and we all loved the outside big bed under the canopy for doing a nap or just watching the others.
Supermarket and Grand Baie in walking distance and the beach across the street.

We spent two weeks (23.11-7.12.2009) in Beau Manguier's Villa. Everything went perfectly! Before the trip, all arragements went fine with the owner - we were discussing by e-mail and they arranged everything incl. transport from airport, person who massaged us, car rental possibility and person who told us about local trips. Very reliable and helpful owner. Location was good, beaches were close and there were short distance to Grand Bay city (we usually walked there). Very peaceful area, no noise of traffic or anything.
Villa was amazing, very clean (there were maid), well equipped and decorated with exellent taste. Many bathrooms, bedrooms, lot of space to all of us (6 adults+infant)
We had one year old child with us and place was very nice to her (high chair for baby and baby cot). We would warmly recommend this to everyone, who wants luxury Villa to their holiday. There were all we needed and even more!

We stayed at the Villa Beau Manguier from the 8th to 18th of December 2010 and consider this villa superb in every way. In fact, the villa is nicer than the photos reflect. The villa is situated in a quiet and private area only 200 meters from the nearest beach. It is located very close to Grand Baie, the nicest town on the island with all of the shops, banks and restaurants the visitor may need. The service provided by the owners Armand Pitot and his wife Shirley is perfect. They arranged excellent transport for us from and to the airport, as well as a good car rental at a competitive price. The villa is serviced daily with the possibility of excellent in-house meals or other outside activities which can be arranged. I recommend this villa and Mauritius as one of those special experiences everyone should enjoy. The Golden Family from South Africa.
