Description from the manager
5BR/5BA Sand Castle Villa is directly oceanfront in Old Man Bay on the north coast. This very popular villa is one of only 2-3 villas that offers shore-diving (SCUBA) to the famous Cayman Wall. With no coral reef to negotiate, and a sandier beach, SCUBA divers can kick 250 yds. straight out to a mini-wall at 25 ft. and then descend to the Cayman Wall that begins at only 45 feet deep.
5 Queen Suites and vaulted living room ceiling lend an open feel to this villa. The focal point is the covered veranda on the oceanfront with cooking center, dining table and conversation area.
The freshwater pool (optional pool heat in winter) has a...Read more

Cornelius, NCGreat Experience!
Left on 01/16/2013 for a stay in December 2012
The was very well appointed although a bit tight on overall space. The property was all sand like a giant beach. The beach was mostly coral so wading was challenging. We had a couple of issues with a shower and the pool but the manager handled them quickly. Played golf at the North Sound Club and had an incredible day with my boys. Wonderful people and facility. Rum Point and Kaibo were the best places to go and swim and lay on the beach. Chartered a boat for a half day in the North Sound which was an incredible experience. My whole family would go back in a heartbeat for another Cayman experience.

We stayed at Sand Castle for a week mid February 2012. There were four couples. This house had a great set up for us since four of the bedrooms were ensuite. There was also an "extra” bathroom on the main level, adjacent to the kitchen and laundry. The kitchen was well supplied with pots, pans, dishes, etc. Having our own pool was a plus.
The house is about a 30 minute drive from the "main” attractions on the west side of Cayman. It was a quiet relaxed place to be. Remember you are on "island time”
A few of the drawbacks of this house
-very treacherous to snorkel right at the house tons of urchins, very rocky and potentially rough waters
-house was not really clean, general grime and we found food containers in a few of the dresser drawers.
-general upkeep issues- we fixed a toilet and a shower upstairs, two of the showers didn't drain well, but we couldnt fix that. The shower in the "extra" bathroom didnt work at all.
-the grill didn't work and house manager never fixed it even though he said he would

LOVELAND, COLORADOSuperior Experience at the Sand Castle, Old Man Bay, Grand Cayma
Left on 03/18/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Excellent rental home. Everything Jim Leavitt advertised regarding this home is true and more. Everything was functional. North side of the island can be windy in the winter so using the ocean off of the home is problematic, but you will need your own transportation anyway which will allow you to explore other areas. I would say more, but Jim's web site and links pretty much tells you everything you need to know.
We prefer avoiding the crowds on the west side and this was perfect. We had 8 adults (20s to 60s)and one infant for some of the time and had plenty of room and individual privacy for everyone.
We are not new to travelling in the Caribbean and are accustomed to island travel and services, which always requires some patience and understanding, and this was an excellent experience.
