      nice spot to stay

Left on 05/02/2013 for a stay in September 2012

we stayed in a single bedroom apt. for about 3 nights. at arrival our rental had a plumbing problem, but owners put us into an upgraded cabin. we were on the lake with great mountain views out the kitchen window--we were also treated to watching a fox make about 3 runs past us while eating breakfast. the kitchen was nicely equipped. even though the nights were cool the oil filled electric radiator did the job. if u luv to look at the mountains, one could easily spend the time
out on the porch just watching them & the wildlife & the weather come & go. between grand lake & rocky mountain park, be prepared to see
& take great shot of elk alongside the road. i'd definitely stay here again. the cabin had a table with fold under leaves that pull out & was
porcelain coated. the stove was also a throw back to when u were a kid in the 50's--personally i loved it.

      Cozy, comfortable and convenient!

Left on 09/29/2011 for a stay in September 2011

My wife and I stayed here for 3 days in early September. The cabin is very good: historic but updated; cozy yet comfortable. We really enjoyed how the cabin is so close to Grand Lake; within minutes you can walk to the main street with its big assortment of shops, restaurants and amenities. The kitchen has been completely updated, with all new appliances, and it’s equipped with everything you would need while on vacation. There is a gas grille on the front porch for grilling, and a few deck chairs as well for sitting in the sun. The only small drawback is that the cabin stays dark inside, which tended to make the cabin feel cold, even during the middle of the day. But overall it’s a great place for a couple or small family to stay.

We had a great time and couldn't have asked for a better location to town and the mountains. We did leave daily to fish and hike but came back for dinner mostly in town. We also had 2 moose come right into the back yard, unbelievable. Lots of other wild life in the mountains. We'll be back.

      Hidden Gem!

Left on 09/03/2010 for a stay in August 2010

This was a nice place to have a getaway with my husband and two kids. The cabin was rustic but with all high-end amenities. The front porch was perfect for grilling, eating and relaxing. The location is just far enough away to feel secluded, but a close enough to downtown to access the lake, shops and playground area. There is a grocery store right across the road, so that was really convenient. I had never used Trip advisor to rent a cabin, but it worked easily and quickly through my email. Thanks for a great stay!

      Perfect getaway!

Left on 08/04/2010 for a stay in April 2010

I think what I loved most about staying at the cabin was the fact that I could park my car the day we arrived and didn't drive again until Sunday. So close to town that we walked everywhere. Enjoyed the quiet getaway. The kitchen was perfect for paper, coffee, and breakfast in the morning or fixing lunch. The cabin was absolutely spotless and decorated perfect for the mountain retreat. I would highly recommend this to anyone staying in or near Grand Lake!
