      Comfy and Cozy

Left on 03/20/2011 for a stay in July 2010

I stayed here last year with two other people and we had a wonderful time. It was very small with close spaces, but perfect for our small group, and the price couldn't be beat. We didn't spend too much time indoors anyway. Most of our time was spent outside on the private dock that the property offers (which is enormous and awesome) and having fun in the lake.

The service was great also. We had some last minute changes to our dates and we had no problems or extra charges for changing things around a bit.

The only thing that I would complain about is that the filter in the aC unit in the front of the cabin looked like it hadn't been cleaned/replaced in months. When we first got in, the two air conditioners (one in the front and a small one in the sleeping area) were turned off to save energy. We turned them on and the small one worked fine, but we noticed the main aC wasn't working properly and the cabin was still stifling even hours after we arrived. Finally, we took a look at it and discovered the filter was absolutely filthy. We left it out for the rest of our stay and it worked fine from then on. The cabin immediately cooled off and was quite comfortable.

Also, there is a tiny, tiny space between the door and door jam in the back. Just small enough for a little garden snake to come through which was quite startling, but we got quite a laugh out of it afterwards from some reactions, lol.

All in all, we had a great time here and we would like to return again in the future. It certainly doesn't offer 5 star accommodations, but like I said, we didn't spend much time indoors, and the location was great, the private dock was wonderful, and the price was perfect.

Quiet get away during the beautiful fall season.

Left on 02/03/2011 for a stay in October 2010

We had a nice get away at the Jewell. Our family enjoyed the wonderful view. It was great to get away to the Ozarks one last time before winter. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Our children 12, 9 and 3 had a wonderful time fishing off the dock. The house was perfect size for our family.

A perfect spot for a quiet, relaxing weekend getaway.

Left on 01/20/2011 for a stay in September 2010

My wife and I had a perfectly wonderful time at the "Jewell" cabin. Everything about the place was exactly what we were looking for. Jewell was secluded and quiet, yet close enough to tourist attractions, shopping, and dining. The beach area and docks were lovely, as was the lake view from the shady porch. In addition, we received excellent service from the rental agency. We'll be back for sure.

      Not Impressed!

Left on 01/20/2011 for a stay in September 2010

My husband and I weren't very impressed with the Jewell. Although it was a cozy cabin and we were able to bring our dogs, there were some issues we were concerned with. The major concern we had was the mold on the walls! We also weren't very fond of the ants and the neighbor's dog without a leash.

Thanks for bringing this issue to our immediate attention during your stay! All issues were resolved. An outside sprinkler head was misaligned and was spraying directly on the cabin. This caused excessive moisture on the home's foundation and invited in the ants. We shut the home down immediately for repairs. The sprinkler head was replaced and redirected. The cabin’s wall and trim were repaired and repainted. We also had the home re-sprayed by our monthly pest control service. During the three day repair we also installed new gutters to correct any potential watershed issues and had the home deep cleaned (inside and outside)! And I even discussed the no leash issue with the neighbors. So thanks again for bringing this to our attention!

      Nice and quiet

Left on 01/20/2011 for a stay in June 2010

It was quaint and quiet and well maintained. Check in was a little confusing and I wish some of their water equipment was available for rent but it was a delightful vacation!
