Holliston MAPerhaps the most relaxing vacation I've ever had
Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012
The Sigels' cottage was absolutely perfect for us. My husband and I were looking for a nice quiet 4-night stay while our 7-yr-old twins visited with their grandparents. When we arrived everything looked just as in the pictures. The room is sunny, but stays nice and cool too (we were there in august). There is an overhead fan but we didn't even need it. The Sigels made us feel very much at home, but they also seemed to know that we were not looking for a chatty B&B; experience. There are plenty of little touches like a bottle of wine waiting for us, tea, sugar, and some other basics in the kitchenette. A hair dryer, eye shade in the bedside table, etc. But nothing seemed overly fussy-- they are naturally good hosts. The pool was absolutely perfect. Big enough to swim laps, but small enough to be a nice temperature. We spent one whole morning just floating in the pool. The view from the pool is stunning. I am sure there are some amazing hikes around (I had broken my tailbone so hiking will have to wait for next year). Great Barrington is a wonderful town too, so if you're wondering where to stay in the Berkshires, then you would be wise to choose GB. It's not huge, but we never really left town. The walkable part of town has great diners, a cool little coffee shop, a movie theatre, used book store, and great music and food at the Gypsy Joynt (a member of the family that owns it-- Jordan Weller-- put out the best CD I've heard in a long time!) On our last night there the Sigels suggested we go to the Guthrie Center for an open mic where we heard more great music. I can't say enough about the Seigel's cottage. We can't wait to go back next summer.

MontrealA Breath of Spring

An enchanting cottage nestled into the quiet and calm of the Berkshire Hills. Birdsong and a cocoon of green calm the senses and stir the heart. An excellent location and very kind and thoughtful hosts.
Minutes away from excellent restaurants, beautiful walks and interesting cultural venues.
As a painter, I painted the entire time, couldn't stop myself from absorbing all that beauty onto canvas. The pool is an added bonus as a sheltered quiet place to sun bathe and swim.
The cottage is simple but complete. No stove but a microwave and fridge to prepare easy meals.
A very relaxing, nurturing and romantic getaway!

Devault, PAAn Idylic Summer Interlude
Left on 09/16/2011 for a stay in August 2011
The cottage and Efrem's care and attention exceeded our expectations. We were 2 plus our dog. The cottage was cosy, clean, designer decorated, and met all our needs with a true Berkshire ambience. The views over the adjacent rolling hills must rank as some of the best in the GB area. The grounds were a great asset. Both Efrem and Frederika proved very generous hosts with local advice and recommendations. We will return and recommend to our friends.

New York, NYlovely get-away
Left on 09/10/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We stayed in this darling studio apartment tucked away in Great Barrington in July. Comfortable and quiet, fantastic view, clean well-maintained private pool, and within convenient driving distance of all that Great Barrington and the surrounding areas have to offer -- music, hiking and swimming, theater, dance, museums, great food. You need to be able to carry your suitcase(s) down a short grassy hill (no stairs to the entrance).

New YorkPeaceful and relaxing weekend
Left on 09/06/2011 for a stay in August 2011
My husband and I stayed here while visiting Great Barrington for the weekend. The space is immaculate and very quaintly designed. There is ample space to spread out. Bed is comfortable, full bath is very clean and towels are provided. No stovetop, but a full fridge and kitchen sink. Not much need for a kitchen since downtown is just minutes away and offers plenty of excellent restaurants. The studio is on the same property the owners live. Far enough for privacy, close enough you can reach them if you need to. You'll need a car in Great Barrington. Our friend drove us around, but one morning the family was kind enough to give us a ride into town. The property is well landscaped, looking out into the great fields that is GB. Pool is well maintained and very inviting. Overall a wonderful stay!

Imagine waking up to a spectacular view of the Berkshire hills from the comfort of a very comfortable queen-size bed. This view is amazing, rain or shine, morning, noon, night or even in the middle of the night. The studio is right near Great Barrinton, Ma. in the southern Berkshires. There is plenty of hiking, shopping, and dining within a couple miles of the studio. The studio itself is very roomy, with the bed, tv, celing fan and lots of windows. With so many windows it is very comfortable and breezy on hot days. There is a kitchenette fully stocked with utensils, glasses, plates and bowls. One can eat at the table in the studio or sit outside in the huge yard overlooking the swimming pool. The place is very clean and the owner could not have been nicer. One of the best places we have ever stayed.
