Hoopers Bay is regarded as the best beach on the island of Exuma on which to stay & enjoy calm, safe swimming, sunbathing or peaceful relaxing. It is protected from the easterly prevailing winds, which at times can make other beaches uncomfortable for sunbathing or dangerous for swimming - especially for children.
With just a handful of private homes along the 1/2 mile/ 1 Km beach, you will never be disturbed & can even watch turtles sometimes feeding in the bay.

My husband and I went for an amazing holiday on the beautiful island of Exuma. Staying at Coral Sands wes the icing on the cake, it was beautiful and the view from the balcony was amazing. The apartment was so comfortable and spacious and had everything we needed. Peter was fantastic he told us all we needed to know about the island and where to go to eat and what things to see and do which had he not told us we would not otherwise have known about. We felt very looked after. It was so lovely to wander just the few steps to the best beach on the island and one of the highlights for us was to see the turtles in the water and feed them! We have been home one day and already started saving to go back! We highly recommend Coral Sands its the best!

We are a family with a 6 years old girl. We stayed in Coral Sand studio from march 28 to april 5. Our staying was perfect. The studio is not very big but it's clean and it has everything that can serve if you want to dine at home, and having children sometimes this could be the best choice. Peter is a very nice person, always helpful, he rented a car for us and he gave us a lot of advises on all sites, beaches, restaurants, markets that you can find on the island. He also provided us with beach towels and a change of linen. The island is very very safe, you leave the car always with the keys, both day and night, and the apartment with the door not locked.
Beaches on the island are marvellous, but I can say that Hoopers Bay (where Coral Sand is) is one of the more beautiful. You can see a lot of turtles swimming just near you, it was an exciting experience, especially for my daughter.You meet very few people on the beaches and this is really relaxing for us, who are used to the city noises. So, I can say that Exuma is a paradise and I take this opportunity to greet and thank Peter. I hope to come back soon!

The Studio Apartment is designed for use by 1-2 persons, not 3 but we were able to fit the extra bed in for your daughter of 6 yrs as you wanted to save money instead of renting a larger 2 bedroom apartment. We are glad that you still found everything for your comfort.

We are a young family from Maine, who love to explore and go on adventures. Our kids are ages 7 and 8, so we have been to Disney/Florida a few times and were looking for something completely different. I have travelled to the Exumas/Bahamas in the past and knew it was full of vacation fun. After researching/planning on and off for more than two years, we made the choice to go with Peter and Betty and their beautiful beachfront property, Coral Sands. Our hosts were quick with email responses, easy to do business with, and went out of their way to make sure we felt at home and knew all the best things to do, and places to eat. Our apartment rental was more than what we expected from pictures, the deck was large (we ate most meals with the water and palm trees as guests) and the living spaces/kitchen were adequate and comforatble for our needs. The car rental was reliable and a good match to our family, and getting use to the European driving style took a bit of getting used to but the roads are easy to navigate with no stop lights and hardly and traffic. Great Exuma and George Town have so much to offer. From the worlds most gorgeous/empty beaches, renting a small boat to captain around Elizabeth Harbor and Stocking Island, full day excursions to the Exuma Island Chain to see swimming pigs, nurse sharks, multi million dollar private islands, Thunderball Grotto, the Iguanas, and more - there was plenty of activity to keep us busy for the whole week. And then there's the water, the clear, radiant blue water the greets you at every moment of you stay. My advice is that if this matches your budget and style, book this location, and move on to learning what adventures/activities are found in the Exumas.

We went for 6 days the place is very nice, quite you have a private beach the island is simply beautiful, check in and out was so easy, Peter was so helpful guiding us where to go and what to try and he was right, places and beaches are supper.
You need for sure a car to try all the different beaches and for sure you need both spry for mosquitoes and after bite cream.

My family just spent a week at the Oxleys villa in Georgetown and it was all that and a bag of chips. Everything was perfect. The open floor plan, the big kitchen and, of course, the ubiquitous views of the translucent turquoise waters of the Exumas. We live in the Bahamas and this is one of the most beautiful beaches we have visited. Quiet, peaceful and great for swimming. Don't think twice, just book it.

We are a family with two children (resp. 15 and 10-year-old)and we chose among the various possibilities the Oxleys can offer a self-catering 3-room-apartment at wonderful Hoopers Bay in Exuma. It was a wonderful stay, at a practically private beach (on the 1st photo the pathway from the house to the beach), where you could have spent the entire day... if there were not the curiosity of sightseeing and visiting all other splendid beaches in Exuma. The apartment itself was clean, well equipped, wuth a great terrace, and we had a great time. Thanks to Peter Oxley we also were more than duly informed about everything worth to be seen - sometimes in Exuma it's not that easy to find places, and Peter's hints and indications were remarquably precise.

Every year one member of our extended family of Eleven has the pleasure of choosing a vacation destination, and this year was my turn. I wanted to find a large house on a beautiful beach, on a fairly tight budget. We live in California, so the first thought was to go to Hawaii due to flight costs, but I was excited to learn that we could fly to the Bahamas at a similar price. I did hours and hours of extensive research to find the best vacation rental in The Bahamas that was affordable and I found it! Coral Sands is a clean and tastefully furnished large house, on a beautiful deserted beach, with warm turquoise water that laps gently on to the white silky sand. Peter Oxley, the owner greeted us on our arrival and showed us around the house. He then sat down and described all the best restaurants and places to explore and was a very gracious host. The house has every amenity that you will need to make your stay comfortable. We spent many evenings relaxing with a cocktail on the expansive decks and gathering together to cook dinners in the large great room. The house is only a few miles from town which was very convenient for getting supplies and general shopping.
After two days of relaxing and exploring the nearby town of Georgetown we rented a boat from Minns Water Sports, This is something that I would highly recommend as we had so much fun visiting Stocking Islands restaurants, and snorkeling spots, with the freedom of having our own boat. On the beach at Stocking Island you can feed the Manta rays that swim very close to the beach. We also saw some huge Starfish and beautiful tropical fish.
The people of Exuma must get a mention. They are the most friendliest and good natured people that I have had the pleasure of meeting while on vacation. There is a rare innocence to life on the Island and hardly any crime, so you will always feel safe and relaxed during your stay.
Very close to Coral Sands are a group of modest bars and restaurants inside small huts where you can eat some great barbecued food and at "Charlies" we spent a wonderful evening singing Karaoke. Charlie is warm and friendly character who makes the best rum cocktails on the Island!!
On our last day we took a boat excursion that visited Thunderball Grotto, Staniel Cay Yacht Club, Pig Island, Iguana Island, the sunken plane and the sand bar. I highly recommend taking this trip.
To conclude, after driving all over Exuma and visiting Stocking Island, I was so pleased to learn that Coral Sands on Hoopers Bay, was the best choice that I could have made! If you are looking for tranquility on a beautiful beach but also the opportunity for a bit of adventure , I could not think of a better location than Coral Sands on Exuma. -

We stayed for 6 days at this beautiful property! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the bluest waters you will ever see! The owner arranged a taxi to bring us to the property and was there to greet us. He gave us a tour of the property which is absolutely stunning, well kept and very clean. We had our own "private" beach right outside of our door. During our stay we only saw one other person on our beach. The owner, Peter Oxley, was very knowledgable regarding places and points of interest regarding the island. He was available with suggestions whenever we asked. Peter and Betty also have a rental car available during your stay and I highly recommend renting it! This island is beautiful! Like Heaven on Earth! Many delicious places to stay, most open air. You can easily get immersed in the culture. We took many drives across the entire island and were so grateful to have a nice, clean place to return home to. There is a small market walking distance from the house where you can get anything you need. Peter also arranged a wonderful boat trip for us to the outer cays where we encountered some once in a lifetime experiences. I would definitely return to this beach house. Wonderful vacation!

This is a great location, and a great property. Very quiet on a large piece of beach front. Soft clean sand, not normal in some Caribbean locations, and spectacular water. Safe shallow bay with good visibility. Nurse sharks, lobster, sea hares(look that up if you are not into sea life), conch, and other small marine creatures and fish. The house itself consists of 3 matching bedrooms, ensuite, and a fourth bedroom utilizing the guest bath. Extensive decking and outdoor furniture on the ocean side of the home, with a bare feet approach to the beach, water, and more furniture... two large wooden tables, one with a beer bucket built in, and several chaise lounges and a half dozen beach chairs. A good outdoor shower is located adjacent to the stairs to the rear deck for your return and keeping the home sand free. Modern appliances, freshly painted clean walls, and your choice of sleeping arrangements from King, queen, or twin beds for your group. George town is only a few minutes away for all the shopping you can find, and the docks for ferry service to Stocking Island($12 p/p). And finally, you cannot find better hosts anywhere in the world for local knowledge and making your requests reality!

Abbiamo soggiornato nello studio della villa coral sands per 7 notti, ci siamo trovati molto bene. Lo studio è essenziale ma nel complesso funzionale e accogliente, pulito e la posizione ottima. Si trova all'interno di una villa con giardino e accesso diretto alla spiaggia che si intravede dalla vetrata dell'appartamento, la spiaggia è molto bella e riparata dal vento. Peter è un buon punto di riferimento a cui rivolgersi durante la vacanza per avere consigli e notizie, sempre disponibile e gentile.
La nostra esperienza è stata positiva e quindi lo consigliamo.

We really enjoyed our stay at Coral Sands. Spend one week in Exuma, a beautiful Island and great for snorkeling, diving and kitesurfing.
Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly people. The studio we rented is not large, but is clean and offers all you need with a (almost) private beach where you can see green turtles swimming around in the morning.
Peter and Betty are very friendly hosts and make sure you enjoy your stay at Exuma! -

We stay in Exuma during august 2011 after a short visit to Nassau.
As soon as we entered into Coral Sands suite, and as soon as we met Peter (the owner) our surprise was big. A lot better than what we thought. No picture can describe the house and the place. A very elegant apartment with two big rooms and an unbelievable bathing room. Two spectacular terraces on the Hooper Bay, on the wonderful Ocean and on the well managed garden.
Betty and Peter are so nice people (very English) that was always a pleasure to speak with them during our holiday.
We organized our days leaving in the early morning and looking for beaches. A light lunch around 2,30 PM (at home) and than we enjoyed the Coral Sands beach and the terraces till evening. Out for dinner (somethimes we bought food to dine at home - a great experience into this stunning kitchen.
Next year we'll be in Coral Sands again and more we'll stay also in Long Island (always in the Peter house).

Peter was always attentive and kind explaining us the best to see and have dinner in Exuma. The island is absolutely worthy to stay in for its beauties: we want to come back in the future.

I stayed at the Coral Sands home during a one week vacation with my husband. We rented the 2 bedroom apartment and were so pleased with the home. It was a great size for two people, and would certainly be large enough for four as well. The best part about the home is its location. It is located on Hooper's Bay and only once on this beautiful beach did we seen anyone else the entire time! The apartment also has a large covered porch area, where we enjoyed meals and drinks while enjoying a stunning view of the ocean. Betty and Peter are charming hosts, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We were able to experience Exuma without being the confines of a resort, and enjoyed an oceanside residence we could rarely afford anywhere else in the world. We had never rented a private home before and were unsure of the process, but Betty and Peter instantly put us at ease and made the entire process truly painless.

Coral Sands is a beautiful home near local amenities and right on the beach; perfect for our family reunion holiday. It was wonderful to meet Peter and Betty and they made our stay a fabulous experience. We were all very comfortable and the nine of us were able to mingle on the breezy decks and gather together at the huge dining table for our many lively dinners. I have always preferred the options of vacation rental homes rather than staying at resorts so this was the best place to have our holiday. The beach, just steps away, very private and quite calm in the bay. The water was clear and a lovely blue; the sand, clean and white. We thoroughly enjoyed touring the island together and taking the boat taxi to Stocking Island to relax and feed the manta rays. We have many pictures and videos to remind us of our fantastic holiday that we will enjoy for many years to come.

We just had another incredible stay at Coral Sands. We were just here last July and couldn't even wait a year to go back. We can't say enough about how wonderful the house is. This time, we used the entire house and everyone had a great time. Lots of room for our family with kids, my sister and her husband and my 80+ year old parents.
The beach is still the best on the island with the nicest sand and great water. And don't forget to check out the grounds with some incredible flowers and plants. The house is well equipped and impeccably clean and maintained. Excellent drinking water right out of the tap, comfortable beds, a beautiful kitchen and dining area. We maxed out the sleeping areas but were never bumping into each other.
The decks and balconies are ideal with always a place with shade if you want it or sunny if you prefer to work on your tan. The location is central on the island. Smitty's is just down the road for groceries including frozen meat and fresh fruit and vegetables. The liquor store is right next door to Smitty's. You are only a few minutes by car from Georgetown. I would recommend renting the car from Peter. Rates are good and you will make use of it touring the island.
Betty and Peter are incredible hosts, going above and beyond to make sure you enjoy not only their house but the entire island. They know all the best spots and can't go wrong with their recommendations and guidance. And if there is any doubt about how much we love it, we booked out next vacation before we left!

We absolutely love this home. It is on a beautiful calm bay that is perfect for children to play in. Georgetown is right down the road so shopping, restaurants, and nightlife are close by. Betty and Peter are the perfect hosts. They are extremely helpful in planning your stay and making recommendations for local restaurants and activities. The home is beautiful, the available picture do not do it justice. I highly recommend this home to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation.

My husband & I stayed in the studio apartment for 1 week & loved it! Upon arrival, the friendly owner Peter greeted & oriented us. Coral Sands is lovely with an excellent location - possibly the best location in Great Exuma. The house sits about 50 meters away from what could be the prettiest beach on the island - Hooper's Bay with powdery white sand & clear water free of seaweed. Mostly, we had the whole beach (1/2 mile) to ourselves - fantastic! The views from the house are beautiful - you'll see turquoise water, pink & purple flowers, trees & other greenery. A feast for the eyes! Chairs & outdoor showers are available for your use on the beach & decks of the home. The home is very well-built, solid, bright, clean, and well furnished. I wish we could have afforded the master suite - it's gorgeous! Our studio was very nice - good to have the kitchenette with small fridge for breakfast items & snacks. We also had a full bathroom, small couch, flat-screen TV, queen bed, alarm clock, 2 night tables, chest of drawers, & ceiling fan (didn't use the a/C at all - the ocean breezes were very pleasant & we kept the windows open). I liked being able to go from our room onto the patio through the sliding glass doors & then onto the sand access path that leads directly to the beach! We rented a car from Peter - it was clean and well-kept (a car is a necessity to explore Great Exuma). The house is within walking distance to a BBQ restaurant with tasty food, it's close to a well-stocked convenience store (about 2 minutes by car), and also near to Georgetown (less than 10 minutes by car). We saw owners Betty & Peter several times throughout our stay - they live nearby & own Coral Gardens B&B.; They were very nice & provided excellent suggestions about what we should do & where we should eat; they even made reservations for us for some of our adventures! We were grateful for their expertise! I highly recommend a stay at Coral Sands - it was exactly what we were looking for!

This wonderful vacation rental is situated right on the perfect beach for anyone who loves pure white powdery sand; flat beach, as opposed to sloped; calm water with very little or no waves; no obstacles in water such as rocks; no nasty animals such as man-of-war, jellyfish, sea cucumbers; no bugs such as mosquitos, possibly due to steady light breeze; perfect color of bright blue water; no other people on the beach except one or two walkers each day; some shade to read on the beach without burning - in this case by palm tress and casuarinas but the entire beach is not covered in shade; very pretty beach to look at all day with small islands in the bay and a couple sailboats in the distance; house right on the beach for easy access throughout the day. The beach is sheltered from winds which bothered visitors on other parts of the island. The Oxleys were the perfect hosts upon arrival; filling us in on so many details we would otherwise have missed about the island. They went far beyond the call of duty to organize the perfect boat trip in our budget, taxis, their rental car, etc, but left us to our privacy throughout our visit. We could not have asked for more. The house itself is actually nicer than the pictures suggest (inside and out), so that was an added bonus; very spacious with fabulous covered porches for enjoying the beach without excessive sun exposure. The location is close to the "action" and grocery store, even though it is very quiet and peaceful near the house. The price was great for the value; we rented the whole house for 2 people and had complete privacy with many extras. Big 5 star endorsement!

This is definitely one of the nicest spots I've ever been. A comfortable appartment located at the center of the isle, calm and peaceful, but in a reachable distance to the little capitol city of georgetown...and! with a direct, private, 50m access path to the beach, which also felt very private as we only met about 10 people during our 10-day-stay there. For all other activities ask the super-friendly hosts Peter & Betty. They know what, when and where to do. You can really rely on their recommendations, wich they will love to tell you about. All bahamians were very friendly and polite. Theres nothing to complain for me. We all are hoping to visit this place again very soon...

Six friends stayed at the Coral Sands Villa on the Hooper Bay beach. We were able to spend some days lollygagging on the beach and other days were filled with adventure - sea kayaking and snorkeling were fun adventures, which the Oxleys were very kind to arrange for us. The residents of the Bahamas are very kind and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay.

Our group of six women stayed at Coral Sands for a week in December, 2010. The home is comfortable, open and bright, and right on a beautiful beach. The Oxleys were so generous to share their insights about the different activities we could participate in while in the island, and even prepared all of the logistical arrangements to make them happen (sea kayaking, island trasnportation, water taxi, restaurant recommendations and reservations, etc.). Our experience was the perfect blend of solitutde, relaxing, and adventure. The Oxleys are the perfect hosts! We're already dreaming about returning, this time with the husbands and kids. The house was great for a girls' week, and would be great for a family as well. It has reliable wireless, so if you have to stay in touch with folks back home you easily can.

We were pleasantly surprised as the photos on their website do not do it justice. Very clean and well kept, huge fan-equipped patios to enjoy the warm weather, better than average beds (better than average European beds), independent kitchens in every part of the home (we rented the entire house), and a warm welcome from our host, Peter. We saw exactly four other people (and one dog) passing by the beach in front of this home for the whole week we were there (early Sept.). Wonderful! Great local attractions and restaurants. Locals were very friendly and helpful. Almost no crime on the entire island. We recommend renting a boat from Minn's Water Sports for at least two of the days of your stay. We will definitely stay here again.

A piece of heaven is the only way we can describe this property and Peter and Betty are definitely angels. Clean and immaculately kept, the house was incredible with everything you need with the exception of food. For food, a well stocked grocery store, Smitty’s, is only a short distance down the road, complete with fresh vegetables and fruit, frozen meat and canned/dry goods. A drug store is part of Smitty’s and a liquor store is right next door. The beach is absolutely beautiful, white sand, crystal clear water with hardly anyone on it. Peter and Betty were so much help with their knowledge of the island and are simply just incredible people. If you are looking for a laid back vacation with beautiful views, great beaches, good snorkeling and boating, you can’t go wrong with Exuma. Add Peter and Betty to the island and you will never want to leave.

Four weeks on Great Exuma staying at Hoopers Bay was perfect.
This was
my second trip to the island and it stil came up to all its
expectations.
Taxi arrangements were made by Betty and Peter to meet
us on our arrival at the airport and deliver us to Hoopers Bay.
The
Beach Villa was just perfect for two of us in the studio annexe with our
family in the main part of the house.
It was very well equipped for our
needs.
The location was idyllic-a 50 metre walk along a sandy path
through the garden filled with bouganvillea and onto the most beautiful
beach. Uncrowded with white sands and turquoise and safe waters Hoopers
Bay must be one of the best beaches on Exuma.
Located about 4 miles
from George Town it was situated perfectly for access to shops, banks
and the fantastic music festival which took place during our stay but
far enough away to be quiet and peaceful.
We liked absolutely
everything about the island especially our success with the famous bone
fishing. -

We have been this year (april 2010) for the second time to Great Exuma where we decided to get married. We have chosen to stay in Coral Sands, one of the most beautiful beachfront villas of the island located in Hooper's bay.
This location is really very convenient: close to airport, close to downtown (Georgetown) and, since it is right in the middle of Exuma, you can easily reach from there, all the most beautiful beaches in the islands.
The villa is huge and beautifully furnished in a colonial style, it remembers me some of the places I lived in West Africa. It has all possible amenities and facilities and, moreover, Peter and Betty Oxley (the owners) are always more than helpful to fulfil your possible requests.
The perfect position of Coral Sands allows to access the beach in few steps and, believe me, when you get up in the morning and walk on one of the most beautiful beaches of Exuma, and have a swim in those crystal clear waters (turtles and dolphins swim there too...), it is really priceless.
We have also enjoyed the colourful garden Peter and Betty very kindly offered us for our wedding ceremony.
Our two weeks stay in Coral Sands worked out as a little paradise: we lived our dream. Everything was so easy and efficient and Peter (who arranged for us not only our wedding but also extra services like taxies, car and boat rental) gave us advice on new restaurants, sport spots (we adore kitesurfing), day trips etc.
I'm sure we will get there again, and again. -

We were told that Gt Exuma was the jewel in the Bahamian crown, which we found to be the case. How lucky were we?
The incredibly beautiful and well appointed Coral Sands took both of us by surprise. Moyra and I were expecting the inevitable downer but it never came. In fact it just kept getting better. After all where else can you walk to the end of the garden and count 12 Green Turtles in as many minutes, swimming close to the waters edge? The calm and sheltered shallows of Hoopers Bay made it easy to spot them.
Thanks to Peter and Bett`s tour and guidance, Moyra and I found areas of Exuma we had no idea existed. Their help would have put the Bahamas Tourist Board in second place. The number of great places to visit seemed endless, so we did our best but will have to visit again to complete the list.
We enjoyed the experience that much that we have booked Coral Sands for 2 weeks this August for our whole family.
Negatives, we could not find any.

In March our group of 8 (2 grandmothers, two
couples, two teenagers) stayed at Coral Sands,
occupying the entire beach house. The setting was
ideal. Each apartment was spacious and clean,
featuring full kitchens and either verandas with
ocean views (top two apartments) or double doors
out onto the garden (the lower apartment). WIFI
and TV were available. The beach began at the end
of the garden. We saw turtles feeding in the beach
grass immediately off shore. Peter and Betty were
incredibly helpful, arranging car rentals for us,
suggesting snorkeling sites and beaches, helping us
select kayak and boat tour operators. Their B&B
was only just up the road, so they were easily
accessible and extremely friendly hosts.
Things to do: drive south to the beautiful Tropic
of Cancer beach, snorkel the southern portion of
Fort Beach (near the islands)... we saw large rays
and lots of fish there. Kayak the Moriah (sp?) bay
area, ride the tide dropping current out to the
open ocean and play on the deserted beach there.
Take a glass bottom boat / snorkeling tour north
along the keys to the marine park; this was a great
trip for about $125 each, lasting most of the day
and showing sites that we just wouldn't have seen
otherwise.
We cooked our own food and had wonderful meals; if
you like expensive coffee or special spices,
though, you might want to bring your own. Tofu is
available in the local markets. Remember that it
is an island; availability of fresh supplies varies
according to the shipping schedule.
As with our previous experience in the Bahamas, we
had no concerns about crime while on Exuma, and no
hassles ... locals were helpful, extremely good
natured and very tolerant of tourists. I can't
imagine a better setting. Exuma was beautiful, and
Coral Sands is a keeper. -

We just returned from a 10 day vacation in Exuma and we stayed at Peter
and Betty Oxley's Coral Sands villa on Hoopers Bay. The five of us, (myself,
husband, and three children 7, 5 and 3) stayed in the apartment. Upon
arrival, we were greeted warmly by Peter and shown around the villa and
property. We appreciated that the villa was spotless with starter basics
supplied (soaps, toilet paper, etc...) Bath and beach towels were supplied
and refreshed during our stay as well. The kitchen lacked a few cooking
necessities such as a cutting board, large sieve or strainer and proper
cutting knife but we had hired a chef (that Betty found for us and was
wonderful - Mrs. Burrows!!) so that did not affect our enjoyment of the
place too much. The best feature of the villa is the spacious and well
appointed covered porch from which you look out over the tropical garden
and to the beach. The view is stunning. The proximity to the beach, which
is long and virtually deserted was also a huge plus. Peter answered all our
questions and was very sensitive about being available but letting us have
our time as well. We took some time to check out some of the other villas
we had seen on Trip Advisor to see how they measured up and came away
pleased with our choice. Coral Sands is very well located to Georgetown,
restaurants and all activities. I would recommend Coral Sands without
hesitation to anyone who wants to stay in elegant surroundings, on the
beach. It is a good value for the price. We had a wonderful holiday. -

Staying at Coral Sands was all we expected it to be and more. Peter and Betty went out of their way to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Peter spent considerable time showing us around the island both by car and map. He was our personal tour guide and event planner. We stayed in their two-bedroom apt which was immaculate and a home away from home. Beautiful views of the pristine bay (Hoopers Bay) from our spacious veranda. Full service kitchen helped us keep costs down by eating in (food is quite expensive on the island, both in restaurant and grocery). WIFI was out due to circumstances beyond the Oxley's control (although they went to great lengths in attempt to get it running during our stay) but we were able to drive to their home (Coral Gardens) and use their internet (only 1/2 mile away). We would highly recommend staying here to any of our friends. A FANTASTIC FIND!!!

siamo stati al Coral Sands dal 31 Dicembre al 7
Gennaio. Betty & Peter sono gentilissimi e
premurosi (siamo arrivati ad Exuma il 31 Dicembre
in serata e ci hanno fatto trovare l'occorrente per
la prima colazione dell'indomani, primo dell'anno,
pronta in frigorifero.
L'appartamento ha un eccellente rapporto
costo/qualità; è ampio spazioso, bello e .... ha il
giardino che finisce in uno splendido mare; inoltre
l'abbiamo trovato pulitissimo, provvisto di cucina
(completamente attrezzata, piano cottura,
frigorifero, freezer, microonde), salotto con
televisione e divano, due camere con aria
condizionata, bagno con doccia, lavatrice,
asciugatrice e internet wi-fi !!! inoltre ha una
enorme veranda affacciata sul mare.
L'appartamento si trova a pochi kilometri dalla
capitale dell'isola GeorgeTown, insomma, una
sistemazione perfetta, adatta a tutte le esigenze
ed in particolare alle famiglie un po' numerose
come la nostra.
Peter provvede anche al noleggio dell'auto ed è un
eccellente e premuroso consulente per tutte le
informazioni turistiche sulle Bahamas.
Se avremo la fortuna di tornare alle bahamas,
sicuramente torneremo da Betty & Peter -

L'isola è un paradiso naturale con spiagge bellissime e deserte che consigliamo caldamente a chi ama la natura, la pace e la tranquillità.
L'ospitalità di Peter e Betty al Coral Garden è stata particolarmente accogliente. Peter sì è rivelato una fonte preziosa di informazioni e ci ha aiutato a sfruttare al meglio la nostra permanenza. Sicuramente è un posto dove torneremo. -

It's pleasure write this feedback for me because
this place is magnificent and Peter and Berry are
two person very friendly and available that helped
us to have a full immersion with the island and to
enjoy all the best place of Exuma.
I very reccomend this location to eyeryone that
looking for long white beach with no people, sea
with all tonality of blue and quite.
The apartment was very comfortable with two big
bedroom, one restroom and beatifu lounge and its
position is wonderful beacuse is direcly on Hooper
Bay beach.
We have rented also a car from Peter beacuse
without it you are not able to explore all island
and i suggest to rent it.
We raccomand to visit little Exuma and especially
to have a lunch to Santana. There you can organize
a visit to Sand Point on extreme south and this is
the location where has been filmed Pirate of
Caribbean II and III.
For all Italian there is a good combination of
Flight with Air France from Rome to Miami and then
we have gotten a internal flight with Continental
from Fort Lauterdale for to reach George Town on
the same day.

abbiamo soggiornato al coral sands nella stupenda casa di peter e betty dal 16 al 25 agosto; la casa è immersa in un fantastico giardino e a pochi metri c'è una delle spiagge più belle di exuma, con mare meraviglioso. Di Peter non posso che confermare quanto già detto in altre recensioni; è stato eccezionale nel darci informazioni e dritte sulle cose da fare e luoghi da vedere. Mi sembra quasi inutile dilungarmi con altri discorsi; andate ad exuma, soggiornate da peter e betty e vedrete che non vorrete più tornare. Prima o poi ci torneremo al 100%. Hoopers Bay is just perfect - half a mile of beautiful sand and sea - you can even watch turtles from the beach!
The apartment was spacious and had a lovely patio where we took our breakfast every morning whilst being entranced by the unspeakable blue water just a few yards away through the garden.
Local shops for groceries were only 1/4 mile away whilst Peter & Betty who live on the island were so helpful and made sure we had all the local knowledge needed to fully enjoy the island.
We will be BACK AGAIN with friends in 2010 - thanks for making our holiday so wonderful.
