Escape!!
Left on 11/06/2012 for a stay in September 2012
This was my first trip to the abacos. It was amazing! I feel sort of reluctant to review this property in fear that the more attention it gets the less chance I will have to stay here in the future. Let me give you a quick insight to a stay in GTC (Green Turtle Cay). Upon arrival to Treasure cay airport which is maybe operated by 4-6 people max. That was great and the airport employees were very friendly and there are no such thing as "lines" for customs as they plane you flew in on most likely held less than 20 people total. Grab a cab to the ferry (this was a little pricey for the total of maybe a 2-3 mile trip) I think we paid $45, but we had 6 people with us. The Ferry was right on time and headed over to GTC (20-25 min). As we were aboard the ferry we contacted "Island properties" who handle the rental for "bahama house". They were prompt and met us at the dock where the ferry drops you and had a golf cart with a luggage holder for all our bags. At the ferry stop at the "green turtle club" we rented our Golf carts that you must have on GTC to get around. After getting loaded up and on our golf carts we followed the Property managers to the "bahama house". Upon arrival (about 5 min by golf cart) we were more than impressed with the accommodations. Bahama House has every modern convenience you could possibly want. It is located on what I believe to be the best area of GTC called Coco bay. Talk about serene! We were there for a total of 4 nights and only saw 3 other people on the beach behind the house the whole time! That was just amazing! I was finally in a place not over run with commercial tourism and people swarming the would be beautiful beaches. Gtc and bahama house are the perfect luxury retreat. We rented a boat from reef rentals and met Edison (the owner and native of GTC). He was great! He took us around to a few "hot spots" for snorkeling and fishing. I would recommend a GPS highly as there are many shallows and reef areas you must avoid all over the abacos. Edison's son and Daughter in law Kevin and Charie own a great little restaurant in town which they had just acquired the week prior to our trip called the "crazy love". They were possibly the best hosts I have ever experienced in my life! You really felt welcome and almost like family. They make a local staple dish called Souce (not sure if i spelled that correctly) that is amazing! We were told that it is the best "hangover" cure known to man. Believe me you will need it, as drinking starts early in GTC and lasts all day and night. I cant say enough about the trip to GTC! I am already planning my 2013 trip to Bahama House and cant wait to get back! See you guys soon! Thanks for all the amazing memories and hospitality!

We love the Bahama House. We have stayed there several times, and each time the owners made improvements. Most recently they added internet and a generator. It is a wonderful place, and the ladies from Island Property Management are fabulous!
