All our cabins are rustic and non-modernized, taking you back in time. No electricity and plumbing is "out back" - relaxation is everywhere. This cabin was built in 1901 by 19 year old Mose Duty, a well known Maine Guide and brother to the legendary game warden and guide Bert Duty; the timbers from this cabin were hewn from the wildlands around Spencer Pond. This is an expansive lodge with unsurpassed views of the tall campyard pines and Little Spencer Mountain. Sitting less than 50 feet from the waters edge, enjoy the views in your log rocker or on one of the swinging couches adorning the large front porch (one half is fully screened in ) w...hich looks across the pond to Lily Bay, Number 4 and Baker Mountains. Inside enjoy the large kitchen, pantry, and dining area. Two back bedrooms follow a line off the back of the kitchen. The first bedroom, has two twin beds which are often made into a king, a desk by the window to write notes home on, and a large armoire and bureau. The second bedroom has two twin bunk beds, and a toddler bed. Off the other side of the kitchen and facing the water with a gable window that allows a perfect view of the evening sky and stars is the Great Room. Furnished with a large library, a futon that converts to a full size bed, a twin bed, and a large couch. This room also has its own rocking chair by the cozy woodstove, and a table which sits under the gas light, perfect for long nights of cribbage or yahtzee tournaments, or a monopoly game. On rainy days, take a trip down memory lane and dance to the music that emanates from the old Victrola, a remembrance of days long gone by or read a book from the expansive library. Your children may enjoy a rousing outside game of badminton, croquet, or frisbee, all of which can be found inside the cabin game chest. Spencer Pond Camps are the only cabins on the Pond and we are fourteen miles from our closest neighbors. That won't help you find us but it gives you some idea of how the Camps are remote and a long distance from towns and traffic. More specifically, we are located 34 miles north of Greenville in the heart of the Maine Highlands region, known for its history and natural beauty. The many lakes, rivers and streams around us offer fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and white water rafting. The numerous mountains are a hiker's paradise. The Moosehead region has the largest population of moose in the State, and the Camps are on a newly developed birding trail.

Hidden deep in the woods and nestled at the foot of Little Spencer Mountain. Spencer Pond is classified by the State as a highly valued, protected body of water due to its scenic mountain views, wildlife, remoteness and undeveloped shoreline. The Pond affords visitors an undisturbed setting to view and photograph wildlife and water birds. Jet Skis are banned and outboard motors over 10 hp are discouraged.

Our Camps are located in East Middlesex Township, bordered by Maine Public Lands, private conservation lands and an ecological reserve. By road, the Camps are an hour's drive from Greenville, the last 12 miles of travel on well-maintained gravel roads. We have signs posted at each intersection and will send a map with specific directions when you make a reservation. By float-plane, the trip from Greenville to Spencer Pond takes only 15 minutes. $59 per person per night June-October. $45 pp/night in May and $35 pp/night in November. Children 12 and under stay free, Children 13-18 $25 per night. Dogs $10 per night, please see our website the most accurate availability and additional details and special offers.Minimum nightly charge for 1 person $100 except in May when it is $85. 10% discount on stays of five or more nights. 5% discount for returning guest, senior citizen, and active military.
