Gregory Town is located between Harbour Island and Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera has many activities for all. Beaching, kayaking, caving, cliff diving, surfing, shelling, snorkeling, spearfishing, bonefishing, deep water access and light tackle fishing everywhere.

The "Edge of the World" Cottages are a rare find. Besides the amazing property and view, the cottages are very well provisioned and comfortable. The property is so well maintained. The landscape is worthy of a botanical garden. Kimy and Terry are so knowledgeable about the area, they never seem to grow tired of describing Eleuthera. They make it so easy. It is almost hard to share this because it's the type of place You would want to stay a secret destination.

This was my second time on the island of Eleuthera. The first I stayed elsewhere, and while anywhere it's 60+ degrees during winter is generally a-ok by me, the overall warmth and friendliness of that proprietor left a little to be wanted. While I didn't feel the need to return to my past accommodations, I did want to do more exploration of the beaches and general beauty of the island. All the reviews below and all the future reviews above will all say the same thing in a million ways: it's a special spot that once you've found you're just going to want to go back.
Kimy and Terry are very friendly and helpful and are clearly excited to share their beautiful perch with folks looking for escape, peace, relaxation etc. During the six days I was there Kimy embarked on a number of home improvement projects...from laying the foundation for a garden shed to upgrading the porch chairs from plastic to wood, she was bubbling with ideas of how to make the whole of the property even more enjoyable than it already was.
I stayed in Tamarind Cottage and it's perfect for 1-2 people. The small kitchen is compact, but you can still put together a delightful meal of fresh seafood and tomatoes from the property's volunteer plants along the shore.
It should be said that if you're not one for a bit of DIY in your vacation, this may not be the best fit for you. You'll still have to make your own bed, no one's going to be delivering cocktails directly to you, the shower's water pressure can be a little waffley. And head's up: make sure you line up a car well in advance of your arrival on the island...you're going to want one.
But if you are looking for a beautiful spot, friendly hosts and a nice home-base for adventures around the island, this is definitely a place to seek out.Response from The Johnson Family - 04/12/2013

Love, love, loved staying here! Not only is the property well kept and beautiful but the owners are amazing people. They are incredibly helpful, very kind, and extremely fun. This was such a fantastic trip with so much to do and so much to explore, but also perfect for just plain relaxing. We highly recommend staying here!

My husband and I love to stay at the Starfish.. it is truly paradise found. Kimy and Terry are fabulous hosts. I would recommend any of Kimy's properties. They have kayaks and a lovely view of "heaven" from their deck on the water. The grounds are as lovely as Kimy too!

Don't want greasy guidos?
Don't want to feel that you blew your money to "get away from it all" only to find yourself at the side of an overcrowded infinity pool with Lady Gaga cranked on the sound-system, looking at a menu filled with the same food you just left on State and Madison?
Come to the Starfish Cottage.
Kimmy and Terry will be your guides to the wonderous isle of Eleuthera. What do you need? They've got you covered. Don't like pushy hosts? Not a problem either. They're there if you need them, and away if you don't. You will find that this exemplary behavior will more than likely make you want to stick around and socialize. You will definitely have two new friends before the end of your trip.
What's it like to stay there? I could go on, but the pics speak for themselves. If you are seeking this joint out (Indiana Jones), then you are already a good fit. There are other places on the island filled with your typical american boneheads (Cocodimama) that will happily transport you to the nearest football game via satellite while the biggest personality on the island (Dr. Seabreeze) sits by himself in the corner with no amplification or audience.
Don't get me wrong, you will not be fighting anacondas and crocodiles...
You will be soaking up the true spirit of the Bahamas on a laid-back island, in a pleasant town, in a comfortable cottage, near a beautiful cove, with some wonderful people.

There’s no better way to describe the place than to say that it was truly paradise. We experienced island life at its finest: ultimate relaxation, privacy and quiet that seemed like a dream, and a feeling of escape that’s nearly impossible to describe. We have the best hosts ever! Kimy and Terry upgraded our cottage to Starfish because they are doing some work in the Tamarind tree house at that time. Very nice of them. We love our cottage especially the outside shower or the jungle shower! Ooohh i love to take a shower there everytime we come home from our daily adventures. The cottage has everything you need: clean sheets, towels, cooking pots, utensils, fridge, oven, grill, cooler, floats etc... The property is very serene, very beautiful landscaping, lots of trees, fruits that you are free to take. The place has a magic that will make you feel at home the moment you arrived, that's how we felt. Hearing the water from the dock is soothing...love to sit and relax by the hammock in the morning while having coffee and planning our day's adventure. The beaches here are phenomenal! You dont need to photoshop them to make them look perfect! They have the clearest water we've ever seen. Just gorgeous! People here are the friendliest, we felt like 'celebrities' during our stay because everybody's smiling and waving at us! Hahaha..Cool! We rented a car from Wallace to explore the island and all the beautiful beaches. We picked up some hitchhikers along the road, mostly locals. We went to Harbour Island for a day trip to see the longest pink sand beach and the lone tree. Driving a golf cart was fun! Oh dont miss the fresh conch salad at Queen Conch, ooohh yum yum yum! On our way back to Eleuthera, we found a stall own by Joel at the dock of Harbour Island selling Island Qaiquiri, i swear it was sooo delicious! From then on we were bringing our own version of daiquiri everytime we go to the beach. Everyone should experience a trip like this at least once in their lifetime. Kimy and Terry drove us to the airport on our last day which was very nice, we had a little bonding along the way. They are really sweet! If you are looking for a fantastic vacation away from all the hustle and bustle of life. This is it! Go to Eleuthera Bahamas and look for Kimy and Terry! You will not regret it!

You will not want to leave! This spot is amazing! I have gone twice now with a friend and every time we've gone we haven't wanted to come home! Ever! Kim and Terry are the best! They are so nice and very helpful with whatever you need. If you want a true vacation with no worries, no phones, nothing but the wind in your hair, the sound of the water on the cliffs from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep, and the warm feel of the sun all day, this is definitely where you want to be :) I hope you all enjoy. My boyfriend and I visited here in June and fell in love with this island and cottage. Kimy and Terry were so warm to welcome us and answer all of our many questions we had throughout our week stay. The cottage was so perfect! It was in a great location close to Harbour Island but on the main land making it easy to explore Eleuthera. The cottage was like a home away from home and we could have stayed there for months. 7 nights was not enough time to explore Eleuthera by any means... each beach and town was so different. Kimy and Terry helped guide us in the right direction each day depending on our desires of the day! It was such an amazing experience!

Will never island vacation anywhere else!! I didn't know places like this still existed. Our host and hostess will be lifelong friends after just one visit at the Starfish Cottages. Private cove out your front door or relax or pursue water sport and snorkeling in private at any number of beaches...many of which you can reach by kayak or short walk. This will be a place where you will feel at home and want to come back to as often as possible. Gregory Town is friendly and all you could need is within a short peaceful walk with 2 airports within a quick car ride as well. Every trip to the island is a new adventure..discovering new snorkeling spots and hide a ways around every curve. Accommodations are cozy, comfy, tasteful and convenient..oh and the Starfish has among the most reasonable rates I've ever experienced. I just can't say enough good about it..I love it!!

We married at a nearby beach, close to our new friends -and witnesses- Kim and Terrys home (owners of Starfish cottage) and stayed at the Starfish cottage for our honeymoon -we couldn`t have made a better choice. Everything was just perfect, peaceful, quiet, warm; - swimming and snorkeling the cove just a few steps from the cottage is just fabulous. Kim and Terry are the greatest hosts -and now friends- we`ve ever had and we`ll come back soon. The island with all its lonesome beaches is just a dream, the people are so nice and welcoming. This is a really peacefully place for getting away from it all and clear your mind and soul. I don´t use this term too often, but we feel this place comes close to paradise :o)) - Enjoy!!!

We have been going back to our beloved Starfish every year since we first had the honor of finding this hidden gem. It is truly a magical place, a sweet town, with amazing people. Kim and Terry are wonderful hosts,they point you in the right direction and help in every way. just know this isn't a resort so if you need to be pampered and catered to, this isn't the place for you. There are plenty of places to get supply's in town to get you thru your adventure of a lifetime. There's cold beer and deserted beaches to have for your own. We are looking forward to our next visit in Feb/2013

If you are looking to really see the out-islands of the Bahamas this is the place!!! Kimberly (AKa Mamma Morgan to me) is such an amazing, unique character -- a little eccentric and a lot of charm -- and that describes both her and her property :) Tucked away on the hill of Gregory Town you can see the village below and beautiful views of the water and bay. The Starfish cottage is my favourite and where I always stay. You are ideally located in central Eleuthera which makes daily excursions north and south easy.
Kimberly is happy to arrange fishing, kayaking, etc. for you. She has lived on that island most of her life and knows everyone and everything... you'll enjoy her as much as you will enjoy the quaint property. I am missing it so much as I type this... if I could be anywhere right now... it would be there!!

Words cannot describe how amazing our vacation was at this little gem. The owners Kimy and Terry are so nice and make sure you have everything you need. The cottage was stocked with all basic supplies and more, and the store was within walking distance. The actual "grocery store" is a bit further away, but we found most everything we needed at the 7/11 that is nearby. This is definitely not a luxury hotel room, but I wouldn't have stayed anywhere else. This little cottage was perfect. We even had TV if we really wanted to watch it, which we didn't much since most of our days we spent outside from sunrise until bedtime. The surrounding property is absolutely amazing, looking right over the water into the beautiful cove of Gregory Town, what a view! The town itself is charming. The locals are very nice and welcoming. Most of our days, we headed straight to Surfer's Beach. I promise it is the best beach we visited on the entire island, and we saw at least 7 or 8. We were the only people on the beach every time we went, except for the occasional surfer. It's such a great feeling to see such beautiful beaches that are not polluted with people. The sand on Surfer's Beach is unbelievable. It's actually "pink" sand and when you look closely you can see all the broken pieces of seashells that make it so beautiful. I brought home jars of it so I can admire it anytime I'd like. We rented a car through Wallace, a great recommendation from Kimy. Other guests staying at a nearby cottage at the time did not rent a car, and it's pretty easy (and safe) to hitch a ride from a local. As far as local food goes, I highly suggest the Laughing Lizard. Also, we went to Daddy Joe's and Twin Brothers and enjoyed the food there too. This is unlike any other vacation I have every been on. If you are truly wanting to find a place where you can get away from it all, you have found it. The only thing I would change is that we left and came home. We will be back soon!

We have stayed with Kimmy and Terry on 2 occasions (our 3rd holiday at Starfish is coming in less than 5 months...but who is counting :)This little gem of a cottage is situated in a quaint, friendly town which is centrally located to all the fun attractions and the many, many beaches found on Eleuthera. Our hosts, Kimmy and Terry, could not have been more helpful and accommodating. They know the island inside and out and are always available to give tips on places to go or to assist in anyway. Our cottage was comfortable, clean and the outdoor shower was a wonderful touch. The island has such a warm, relaxed feel it is easy to slip right into the mood of the people. The gorgeous beaches are secluded and often without people - the water is clear and warm. You get the best of both worlds with the calm Caribbean on one side of the island and the rolling atlantic on the other. The best value for your dollar, hands down! We are hooked and anxious to return!

Great rental! Kimmy and Terry were great hosts! When we first arrived Terry gave us a tour of the property and after that they let us do our own thing. The cottage was great for my boyfriend and I. There was a kitchen and we cooked ourselves dinner every night after we had a drink on their dock and watched the sunset. During the day we took the kayaks out, went to nearby beaches and took a day trip to Harbor Island. I would defiantly recommend renting the Starfish Cottage!

Love! Love! Love! The property & cottage were wonderful. Kim & Terry couldn't have been more helpful. It's your little nest on an island full of beautiful adventures. We do not like tourist traps & overcrowded beaches. We've excluded much of the Carribean for this very reason. Eleuthera is none of that & will exceed your expectations. You won't believe how beautiful the beaches are & most of the time, you have them to yourselves. The island isn't for everyone, which makes us love it even more!! Bring your best Robin Crusoe, snorkel gear & a good book. The Starfish has everything else you need. The location is the perfect spot, close to everything. Quiet, clean & comfy! Highly Recommend!!
