Our family cottage is ideal for the get away from it all wilderness experience or a corporate retreat where you need to unwind, but get some work done. The Scotch Rd. which brings you up to Lake MacGillivray is a time portal that is a mere 7 minutes from Highway 50 (and all the amenities you need) but the journey up the road brings you into a remote region where you will experience quiet lakeside living. Need an office will you unwind? With a networked printer, fax, scanner, wifi, Bell PVR and unlimited long distance calling in North America, you'd be surprised how productive our little cottage can help you be.

Lake McGillivray is a lakeside community that is very quiet on weekdays, most weekends, and virtually deserted in the fall, winter and spring months. You are only 10 minutes from all the amenities you might need, but the sense of isolation and remoteness is incredible given the proximity. The history of the area is interesting too: It was once a tiny Scottish community at the top of the "Scotch Rd." where farmers had a self contained community built around the lake.
