Description from the manager
Roseto 14 is a 13th century farmhouse with a small tower and a barn, in the middle of the Chianti Classico area, mid-way between Florence and Siena. On a hill in 15 hectares of its own fenced land, there are beautiful panoramic views of vineyards and olive groves with forest clad hills in the background. Lovingly restored as the home of the present owner's mother, this is very much a family home, tastefully decorated and furnished with family antiques. There are several shaded patios outside, one near the stone barbecue overlooking the beautiful pool whose infinity edge emphasises the stunning views. The large barn is 20 metres from the main h...Read more

154933Best week of holiday I have every had!
Left on 10/01/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We stayed at Crespine outside Panzano late in august. We chose it based on beautiful photos online and the location as we were getting married during the week in Siena. The Villa is just outside Panzano in Chianti down several dirt roads. The drive out is very picturesque, there are a couple of roadside religious shrines along the way and lots of very nice scenery. Once you find the right street out of Panzano it is pretty easy to find, there are Crespine signs at every fork but you might feel like you are lost when you first leave town as you drive for 5-10 minutes without signage.
The villa itself is amazing and very beautiful in almost every way. Gated for privacy, huge driveway and the house itself is spectacular. The main building is a very old farmhouse. There are three living rooms, six bedrooms and two kitchens. Internet and computer included. The home is rustic and charming. Lots of old exposed wood beams and a couple of huge fireplaces. It is comfortable throughout with lots of space even for a big group. The property is covered in well maintained trees and plants so out every window you have a view of the Tuscan hills framed by greenery.
Below the main building is a small converted barn that serves as a cottage now. It also has a living room and small kitchen. The cottage is also very atmospheric, there is lots of exposed stone inside and again lovely views.
Beside the main house is a dining room with a long table suitable for probably 18-20 people. The walls are ancient local stone and we had some very memorable meals here.
The pool further down the property is an infinity pool with load of deck chairs and a shaded area for those prone to sunburn. The view of the surrounding hills from here is spectacular.
If you are going abroad with a group and are looking for a quiet, beautiful spot you could do no better. Panzano, the local town is quaint with a weekend market with one amazing restaurant and one very good one. Chianti is very quiet and peaceful but 45 minutes and you can be in Siena or Florence. A perfect holiday rental in every way.
