brisbaneGreat apartment
Left on 05/16/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We stayed five nights in apartment 9 of Griante Residences. We loved our time there. As a group of four ladies we appreciated our individual rooms. Three of these are massive and the other is a good size. So we all had our own space. The apartment is modern and well appointed. We could walk to the little grocer each morning and get fresh bread, as well as an amazing selection of meats cheeses, wine groceries etc. we tried the local bar and had pasta dinner with red wine all for 8 euros. Plenty of places for local walks. Lots of transport options. A quick 5 minute walk down the hill to the bus and ferry. We spent a day in Lugano via local buses and easy to get to Bellagio, Menaggio and even Lake Como. We can recommend a lunch on Isola Comacina which we caught a ferry to and from. Lots of local villas to visit. Matteo was great. He met us and escorted our car to the apartment, showed us the local amenities on a tour and picked us up and took us to our ferry on the last day. Thanks so much.

While I woudln't choose to go back to Como again, I would go back to the apartment itself, if it could be moved somewhere else... Nicely appointed and the pool was great.

Left on 12/15/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Two families (10 adults and a child), used apartment 3 and 9 at Griant Residence to enjoy a family wedding at Villa Carlotta during the holiday. We will never forget the wonderful time we had,it was absolutely fantastic, and the facilities at Griante were perfect for our needs.
Our two families enjoyed breakfast and some evening meals together outside apartment 3 grassed area with apartment 9 directly above which made it really private for our group. -

It was our first trip to Lake Como & we would defiantly come back and stay here!! It was just perfect the apartment just everything we needed for the four of us. Very modern and luxurious the view from the balcony is gorgeous and we all enjoyed some lovely nights with a glass of wine there :) Unfortunately it was very rainy whilst we were there but it didn't stop us from using the pool, jacuzzi and steam ( all lovely extras when you staying in the mountains).
Its a brilliant location as well right near to a ferry stop, plenty of places to eat on the lake front and lots of things to do. Easily assessable to Bellagio, Varenna, Como, Mennaggio etc. Either by the train that passes right outside the bottom of the apartment or the ferry.
Highly recommended apartment we will defiantly be coming back and will recommend to family and friends. ***

We stayed for a week in apartment 9 at the Griante Residence. The apartment is fabulous, very spacious with a balcony overlooking the lake. The owner was more than helpful and there was a bottle of wine there on our arrival. There's a great little shop 2 minutes walk away with everything you could need including fresh croissants in the morning and a lovely little bar 5 minutes away. A quick walk down the hill will take you to the lake, and the ferry port is only a short walk as well. We had a fantastic week and I would not hesitate to go back.

Left on 09/26/2011 for a stay in August 2011
The apartment was very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed including air conditioning. It had a balcony with a view of the lake. The boys enjoyed the pool which was popular especially in the afternoon. The village itself was charming and peaceful. It had a small friendly supermarket which was well stocked and only 2min walk away. The lake was about a 10min walk down hill. Villa Carlotta was nearby and also the ferry terminal from which you could catch the boat to many other beautiful places. The owner was very helpful and keen to make our stay an enjoyable one. We had a great holiday. We hired a car at Milan airport to get to the villa.

My family and grandparents stayed in the apartment 1 for two weeks in august. The size and position is wonderful. The local shop only a 2 minute walk. It has a feeling that you are staying with locals rather than a resort. The pool area is great and not too deep if you have younger children. Only a 10 minute walk to the lake makes it easy to get about. The local bar is also worth a visit. We will be back.

We come on an extended family holiday with two young children. The spacious apartment work really well for everyone.
Great position on the lake, with easy reach to other lakeside villages and towns either by car or ferry.
Nice quite location but within easy reach of busier areas. -

WolverhamptonA quiet pretty holiday
Left on 08/03/2011 for a stay in July 2011
we hired a taxi from the airport so getting to the apartment was a little complicated as we had to stop off at the owners shop to collect directions first then met up with the owner at the apartment approx 5 miles away.
The apartments are finished to a high standard and very clean and comfortable apart from the beds which we found was the standard in Italy ie very hard.
We loved the pool, steam room and jacuzzi.
We found Lake Como a little quiet for our family of 3 older teens (and myself), it's a beautiful place for a completely relaxing holiday which we're not ready for yet!
There is a local shop for provisions and a Catholic church on the doorstep, mass at 10am on Sunday.
We visited most of the villages on the lakeside and made excellent use of the ferries.
Although it's good to escape the t.v. whilst away, we had no option as no English tv channels available much to our teens annoyance. -

What can I say, the apartment was clean & very spacious with wonderful views over the lake. Facilities within the apartment were modern. Nothing was too much trouble for the complex manager.
The only downside was the climb up the hill from the lake - but even that wasn't too bad. -

Yorkshire, United KingdomClean, modern, spacious apartment with great views & very quiet
Left on 07/05/2011 for a stay in June 2011
I stayed in the apartment with 6 other members of my family. We were all between 27 and 32 other than my Mum who was 60. The flat felt spacious even with 7 staying and with 2 bathrooms it was easy to get ready. The rooms are huge and plenty of storage and also have aircon.
The pool area is bigger than we thought so we could even do lengths in the morning. There is also a hot tub and sauna by the pool which is nice if the weather is bad.
The owner was great and made it clear that we could call him if there were any problems, he would rather we had a good stay and were happy than not bother him.
The only drawback for some people is that it is set in the hills about 5 min walk down to the lake and all the shops. This was fine for us as we are all fit and like the exercise but I must admit it was tough walking back up in the heat but never a huge problem at all. It is worth considering if you are with elderly or have little children. The shop is only 2 minutes away so that's not a problem and if you have a car you won't need to worry. But honestly it is only a short walk and with the amount of pizza and pasta you eat, it's a welcome bit of a walk to burn off the food.
Make sure you visit the little pub near the apartment it's very quaint and perfect for a drink with friends and family - day or night as it has a lovely garden.
I definitely recommend this apartment.

Apartment No.8. Probably the best holiday apartment we have stayed in. The interior, exterior and grounds were of a very high standard. The view from the balcony was magnificent and everything we needed was there, including a good little shop just around the corner and a nice bar five minutes walk away. The trek back up the hill in the evening helped work off the lovely food and wine!(Helevetia in Tremezzo was our favourite) Matteo the manager was very welcoming and gave great advice. Only little thing was that the beds were a bit hard for us, but otherwise gold stars all round. The complex itself is in a quiet location but only 15-20 mins walk to the ferry, Villa Carlotta and Tremezzo. There's lots to do close by: a nice walk along the lake to Menaggio; Bellagio, by ferry, is gorgeous; the hike up the mountain(no longer than an hour) to San Martino is absolutley worth the view; the hour long C10 bus into Como for shopping is worth the trip. Getting from Bergamo airport to Tremezzo ferry stop by public transport is cheap and easily done. Bergamo's old city is worth a visit - hire an electric car for €5/hr at the bus station. If you're after a relaxing holiday we would highly recommend Griante Residence.

RochesterA lovely apartment in a beautiful location
Left on 06/16/2011 for a stay in May 2011
I couldn't fault this apartment at all, it was well equipped, tastefully decorated and in a really good location (5 minutes walk from the lakefront). The kitchen was able to cope with cooking for the 6 people in our party, but there were restaurants etc in walking distance too. The view from the balcony is stunning. The only downside is that the whole area has very steep hills so would be a problem for mobility impaired travellers unless you're driving. There was enough to see and do locally to occupy my 3 teenage sons, but not much for families with young children. I'll definitely be returning!

Lovely, classy apartment. Plenty of space for us and our two energetic boys. Wonderful views from the french doors/balcony of the pool area, lake and mountains beyond - stunning!! Everything we needed in the apartment and a small shop about 3 mins walk away! Village centre and lake about 10 min walk downhill with a variety of bars, coffee shops and restaurants. All restaurants we visited were very child friendly and would either share portions between the children or make smaller dishes/pizzas. We had a fantastic holiday - very relaxing. The boys would have spent the whole fortnight in the pool and jacuzzi. Pool was ideal as it was all the same depth (about 1m) so was quite safe for beginner swimmers. Lovely, lovely, lovely ...

Workington, UK.Great apartment in Good, Central Location
Left on 10/31/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The service recieved was excellent, from the beginning of the booking process to the holiday itself. We were met by the owner/manager of the apartment in Lenno at a pre arranged location (very easy to find with excellent directions sent in advance) and we were then taken personally to the apartment in Griante. The apartment was beautiful; brand new with every mod con you can hope for in a holiday home. The view from the balcony was amazing, overlooking the lake, and the air conditioning inside was welcome as it was hot during our stay. Matteo (the owner) spent ages explaining how everything worked and where the best places to visit were; there was also a welcome pack of basic foodstuffs and directions to the nearest supermarket.
The pool and hot tub area were well maintained and essential in the hot sun; my only concern was that our daughter was quite little (4) and the other guests were couples without children so we were conscious of her making too much noise, although the owner seemed more than happy to welcome children of all ages.
We had an excellent holiday; Griante is central and a short walk down hill to the ferry which runs across the lake to Bellagio/Varenna/Menaggio. The walk back up the hill is quite steep but short (10 minutes), but generally the apartment is in a good location with lots of bars and restaurants close by. We would definitely recommend the apartment look forward to visiting again sometime. -

Loved it. Great apartment, nice pool, friendly locals - especially excellent little shop and local bar.
Nicely away from the crowds on the lakeside and yet still an easy walk there if that is what you want.
Local walks were great.
Love to come back some time.
