What a great vacation! We had 8 family members (7 adults, 1 teen) in the Coyaba Grand unit - super good sized - no issues at all with space. The deck and view -amazing! Pool was fantastic, perfect end to our days with a nice plunge and lounge around the pool. Kitchen was set up with everything we needed so no concerns there. And I was most happy with comfortable beds! I know that sounds strange, but we have had terrible beds at previous vrbo rentals - but not at Sunwest Villas, we slept like babies. Greg was the best tour guide and taxi service!! He was able to get us to the store as we needed and we had 2 wonderful full day tours of the island - fantastic days, we had a blast! We enjoyed the beach, Anne Maries, Buzz Seafood & Grill (our best meal!), Spinnakers, The Reef (best fish fingers in the world!) and of course the Friday Night Jump Up. And, Greg arranged a wonderful boat trip down the coast to Marigo Bay - 2 of our group said that was their favorite outing of the week - highly recommend as you see the island in a totally different way then when you are touring inland. We saw everything and had a blast - would definately go back to SunWest Villa. Thanks Greg!

We had a great holiday! This part of St. Lucia, Gros Islet is one of the best places if not the best to be in. You are near the beaches, the National Park, the grocery store, shops and restaurants. The beach is beautiful, clean with nice white sand.
The apartments are a little ways up the hill but not too far, enough to be in a quite area without being far from anything. You could walk in but a car ride takes five minutes. The owner is very accommodating and usually can get you in in the morning and out in the afternoon. At other times a taxi is very cheap.
The apartments are very nice, very clean, spacious, bright, with everything you need and a good kitchen. A great view. The pool is perfect, clean and quiet. Greg the owner is great to deal with, straightforward, always helpful, a mine of information about the Island and locale. He will tell you the best places to go to from his own experience and we found the advise good.
We would definitely go back to this area and these apartments.

My wife and young son of 7 months were looking for a villa in St Lucia as we didn't want to stay in a hotel and we came across a set of villas in Gros Islet. At the time of booking around Christmas 2012, there were no reviews on Trip advisor so we went a little blind although we had read some comments from another web site. I contacted the owner via email who then responded promptly and answered all my questions. We then spoke as the smaller villa we were looking to rent wasn't available but Greg the owner offered us the larger villa for the same price. We arranged to travel in February and Greg offered to collect us from the airport for an additional fee.
On arrival Greg collected us and as promised and he had managed to get a car seat for my son. He first took us to the local supermarket so we could stock up and we arrived at the villa around an hour and a half later. Greg told us he would give us a free orientation the following morning which we accepted and was very good and gave us an idea of where everything was.
The Coboya Grand Villa is very large and very impressive. It is set out over 3 levels and has some wonderful views. The first level has a small bedroom, the kitchen and living room which has patio doors that leads out to a large dining balcony. The second floor has two large bedrooms and another balcony and the third has the final bedroom. There is Wi-Fi available if you need it and it has a sterio and TV in the living area. There is also a very large shared pool which you have to leave the front door and walk down some steps too.
The Villa is in very good condition however a massive problem for us was the lack of air conditioning in the living area on the first floor. The sun rises behind the villa but once it hits midday the sun shines directly onto the balcony and the living area becomes very hot. There are no blinds on the patio doors so there is no escape from the heat. We had great trouble keeping our little one cool and it was a little uncomfortable. We could escape to the bedrooms if we wanted to however as these all do have air con.
The Villa is located in a residential area on a hillside about a fifteen minute walk to the Marina on one side and the restaurants, bars and Reduit beach the other. All the local restaurants are exceptintional and I would highly recomend them. As the villa is in a residential area many of the surrounding villas have guard dogs. At night the dogs do tend to bark quite a lot, so bring some ear plugs!
Greg offered to give us some excursions however we decided to hire a car for two days and explore on our own. This was a good idea as we had our son with us so we could be as quick or as long as we wanted.
This villa is a great base, in a good location and we are really pleased we stayed there. Greg is a good host and nothing seemed too much for us to ask. We enjoyed our stay and had the living area had air conditioning I would have given 5 out of 5. -

Wir waren im November für 14 Tage auf St. Lucia in der Rodney Bay und hatten ein appartment in der SunWest Villa gebucht. Als wir die Tür zu unserem neuen Domizil 'Grand Coyaba' aufschlossen, musste ich erst mal Luft holen - so etwas hatte ich bisher als Ferienunterkunft noch nicht erlebt - eine weitläufige Halle die in eine offene Küche mit angrenzendem großen Wohnraum überging und direkt auf eine riesige halbrunde Terasse mit Panoramafenster hinaus führte. Von der Terasse aus hatten wir einen herrlichen ausblick auf die Rodney Bay und die Marina. Das apartment hatte 4 Schlafzimmer mit jeweils 4 angrenzenden Badezimmern, die über 3 Etagen verteilt waren. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet und es gab eine Waschmaschine mit Trockner. Zu der Villa gehört ein Pool, der ständig gereinigt wurde. Unser Vermieter Greg kümmerte sich rührend um uns, er fuhr uns zum Einkaufen, zum Strand oder wo wir auch immer hin wollten und holte uns bis 18 h auch wieder ab. Am ersten Tag hat er mit uns eine Orientierungstour über den nördlichen Teil der Insel gemacht und gab uns wertvolle Tips und Verhaltensregeln mit auf den Weg. Das war alles im Service inbegriffen. Er hat keine Mühe gescheut, uns den aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Wir haben eine Inseltour gemacht, die er nach unseren Wünschen zusammengestellt hat - das war ein unvergesslicher Tag. Da die Villa auf einem Berg in einem Wohngebiet gelegen ist, kann man hier sehr gut, fernab des Touristenrummels entspannen. Der Nachteil ist, dass man bis zum Strand Reduit Beach ca. 30 Minuten läuft, was bei der Hitze nicht angenehm ist. Daher ist ein Mietwagen angebracht, auch wenn man nach 18 h noch was unternehmen möchte. Ansonsten kann ich die Gastlichkeit von Greg und die SunWest Traumvilla nur weiterempfehlen.

Thanks again so much for all your time and generosity
during our stay, Greg! You made our adventures around the
island more intimate and personal; we never felt like
"tourists". You added a genuine local St. Lucian flavour
to our day trips. You didn't hesitate to drop us off
anywhere we wanted to go during the day, and ali was the
best, coolest night-time chauffeur you could have set us
up with. We found the accommodations clean and roomy for
both of us, and we appreciate your attention to our
occasional pleas for help (ie. gas stove, fan, setting off
the alarm...) We can't wait to bring the kids to St. Lucia
to experience the fun we had...we felt like kids again!
We've already recommended you to our friends. Wonderful
