We had a very relaxing two weeks here in august. The apartment is very comfortable and the hosts very friendly, even though we couldn't speak their language! Our trip to a nearby town for ice cream one evening with members of the family (who were much better at English than we were at Italian!) was an unexpected and pleasant surprise - thank you very much for that. The apartment is in a beautiful area and is a good base for exploring from. Lazy days staying put and just dipping in and out of the pool are also possible. A good value place for a holiday in a lovely part of the world.

We loved staying at aquilaia. The apartment was perfect. It was furnished with everything we needed. Valeria was a perfect hostess. Even though we didn't speak Italian, we were able to communicate with her. We loved the fresh eggs. Our only suggestion would be better directions to find it. A detailed map would have helped.

Wonderfull place thanks to it's surroundings and especially thanks to the owners - always nice and helpful.
Our kids (6 and 2) loved this place - we could go to the beach every day (up to 45 mins by car) and they enjoyed the garden at the house. We recommend Giannella public baech - perfect for small kids.
The location is in the "middle" of the region with lot of places to see in reasonable driving distance - good for families with kids.

we had a lovely and peaceful stay on the farm in agriturismo aquilaia. Senor and senora were very helpful and friendly. lots of space for the children to run around and the hand outs of farm produce (eggs, olive oil, cake)were delightful. Beautiful scenery and train to Rome or other cities easy accessable. We asked for a sofa/settee to be added in the kitchen, because before we arrived I realised that the only inside living space was in fact the kitchen. I felt that rather then sitting on kitchen chairs in the evening when kids in bed, a sofa would not go a miss (specially if a little cold outside in the evening). This was facilitated and our needs were met. Thank you

Villa aquasia gave us 2 wonderful weeks of vacation. Mr. and Ms. Scarbi made the experience unforgettable! We had two comfortable bedrooms, the kitchen was fully equipped, and there was a beautiful terrace to dine on. We enjoyed olive oil, wine, the local food market, and the view of blooming fields.
Towns with hundreds of years of history to them surround this beautiful villa.
Ms. Valeria, the owner of this great place, was very kind and accommodating.
It is a marvelous place, and we hope to come back to it sometime.

My wife, 18 month old son, and I stayed with the Sgarbi family for the entire month of October of 2011. I can not begin to express my gratitude to the family for their wonderful hospitality.
Service: Mirko was always available for any questions that we had and was a wonderful host. He and his family took us for an ice cream the weekend of our arrival and saw us off with a wonderful barbeque the weekend before we departed. His parents, Ivo and Valeria, whose farm and house that we stayed in, were incredibly gracious. Our son, Jackson, was absoultely in love with Mrs. Valeria and I believe that the feeling was mutual. She often took time from her busy day to play with Jackson which gave us a great feeling of being at home. Jackson loved to watch for Mr. Ivo on his tractor as he worked the fields during the day. They greated us with home made wine, eggs and olive oil that we enjoyed throughout our stay. Accomodations: Gorgeous countryside with views that we shall never forget(Plus, I have never seen so many stars in the sky in my life!) Spacious house with all modern conveniences that you would need. Large bedrooms for Italy and wonderful porch and patio to enjoy your Tuscan evenings.
Surroundings: Very convenient. Scansano 8km away; grocery store very close by in Pomonte (2-3km).Osa beach 20 - 30 minutes away; Natural park of Maremma and beach within half an hour; hot springs of Saturnia within 20 mintues; Etruscan sights very close by.
Much to do and beautiful countryside to view along your journeys. Perfect for our stay.
Overall: We could not have picked a more perfect place for our month long stay in Italy, especially with our son. Their is much to do and see close by and the most gracious hosts you will ever encounter. They even made sure it only rained two days the entire month! :)

We can recommend that place for everyone - for couples, friends but especially for families. The apartment is specious and well equipped. We would like to underline that apartment was very clean. The area is very safe for children, our one-year old son could crawl around without any risk. Valeria and Iwo are wonderful landlords - generous, friendly and help us in everything. It was unforgettable time for us. One more recommendation - you must visit Pitigliano which is not far from agriturismo aquilaia!

We had an excellent stay at agriturismo aquilaia. Valeria and Ivo were so nice, our children loved playing with them and joined them to pick eggs, grapes, make wine, ... We all had a wonderful time. The apartment was very clean and perfect for us 4. The best beach (Feniglia) for the kids was just about 30 minutes away. And the pool always was a good refreshing activity after a hot day full of sightseeing. We will recommend this apartment to our friends and will also rent it again when we visit the region around Grosseto again.

We spent a wonderful couple of weeks in this charming house, surrounded by amazing Tuscany landscapes. Our hosts were very welcoming, offering many of their homemade products (excellent wine, olive oil, vegetables...), plus lots of advices to discover the region. Plenty to explore and visit: Pitigliano village, Giglio island, Siena, etc.
Best memories: enjoying incredible sunsets by the pool while sipping a glass of the wonderful local wine (Morellino di Scansano).

Well, what can I say, for a start the photos don't do this place justice, the apartment itself is lovely and large with comfortable beds and plenty of space.
The views from the property are out of this world which ever way you look. It's peaceful and tranquil with everything you need.
What really helped make the holiday though was the kindness, warmth and genorosity shown us by Valeria and Ivo, the home grown produce given us was astounding , stunning tomatoes , eggs , artichokes , olive oil and herbs. The wine was wonderful really rich and deep with an almost port like quality.
The kids loved this place, the pool being big enough to swim in and yet not too large that we had to worry about them (ages 6, 9 and 11). One of their abiding memories will be of going to collect eggs from the hens.
There is a handy little village 2 km away with a freindly shop, bar and restaraunt while Scansano is only 10 mins drive with more facilites. The hot springs at Saturnia are a must and we found Pisa well worth the visit.
We would definetly come back here and would unreservedly recommend. -

If you plan to dip into the hot waters of Saturnia, Agriturismo aquilaia is the place to stay. The quiet location is convenient to discover the Maremma region and the hosts were nice and friendly. So relax, sip a glass of Morellino di Scansano wine and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The house is great and confortable,the surronding area is
