The house was newly opened in 2004 and offers all the comfort the vacation guest would wish for. This comfort vacation apartment has space for up to four people (~50 sq.m). It comes with a balcony having a view of the lake towards the side or a terrace with garden, has a living room/bedroom, another bedroom and a kitchen.

Room Furnishings:

In our vacation complex Chiemseestern, we offer comfortable double rooms with high-quality furnishings. All rooms are nicely furnished and come with balcony, shower/toilet, hair dryer, window blinds, satellite TV, radio, CD player, video or DVD, safe, telephone and WiFi internet access. We offer two different categories of rooms, with their view of the lake (only on the side, or as direct panorama view) being their difference. An elevator helps get up to the rooms.

Our garden pavillon and lawn with lake view are a great place to relax with family and friends. Every unit comes with parking spot either at the house or in the garage. Different types of bicycles are available for our guests.

Children’s Specials:

Children under 5 years are free, both in additional bed in their parent’s room and at the common breakfast. Children from 5-14, EUR 8/day, from 14 years, EUR 15/day.

Boat berths on water and land are available for a fee. Breakfast service or the breakfast buffet are available for EUR 9/person.

Every room/apartment comes with a car parking spot, either at the house or in the garage. These are free, but reservations for parking garage spots cost EUR 4/night.

Conditions:

Check-in available from 2 p.m.; check-out should be before 11 a.m. Bed sheets, towels, pillows and duvets are of course provided (including in the apartments) and will be changed as necessary, generally every 3-4 days. Changes on request, in shorter intervals are possible for EUR 3 per set. Daily room service is only done for the rooms (not apartments).

Pets are not allowed; smoking is only permitted outdoors.

Yacht Charter

The Chiemsee is an excellent spot for sailing, especially in summer when nice winds are great for professionals as well as amateurs and dreamy bays invite the sailor to drop anchor and maybe go for a swim. Bavarian hospitality in the quaint harbors and on the islands contributes to the pleasure of Chiemsee sailing.

Gstadt is an ideal starting point for sailing tours, located centrally and close to the islands. Our Active Week special (bookable with stays of at least 7 nights) allows use of our bicycles and our sailing boat Dyas, as well as half price on rental fee for all larger sailboats. This offer is available between Easter and mid-October, except peak season (June 25 – September 18), weekends and public holidays.

For guests without sailing experience, we offer sailing turns with a skipper guiding you.

Vacation residence Chiemseestern lies right on the shores of this beautiful Bavarian Ocean, with view of the Chiemgau alps. The quiet location at the end of the short beach promenade of Gstadt is the perfect starting point for explorations of the lake and its shores.
Gstadt, in turn, is on the Western shores of Chiemsee lake, right across from the Fraueninsel, whose fisherman’s restaurants and beer gardens (and rich history) make it the heart of the Chiemgau. A steamboat will get you there and to the Herreninsel with King Ludwig II.’s fantastic palace in just a few minutes; the boats operate all year and have their pier just 100 m from our house. The town offers beach baths, boat rentals, a newly built park and various restaurants.
Summer evenings, in particular, let the town show its most charming Mediterranean flair perfect for sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine and enjoying the view with its play of lights and colors.
An Ocean of Possibilities:
There are a great many things to do: getting to know the area by land, renting bikes, or by water, renting boats. A bike path leads 65 km around the shores – and should it become too long, you can just get onto one of the ships serving as a kind of public transport. With 82 sq.km, the Chiemsee is the largest lake in Bavaria and one of the best spots for sailing, which you can do on your own, if you have the necessary skills, or on guided tours – or you can choose to rent an electro or rowboat.
The newly designed park with adjacent beach baths, a nice lawn, water trampoline and more is a great place for relaxing or action in and at the water. Tennis courts can be found 200 m from the house, various beautiful golf courses in a 10 km range.
Tours into the adjacent mountains are also very popular. They offer a great view of the Chiemsee, nice alpine huts, and in winter, great conditions for alpine winter sports. In winter, it may even be possible to walk to the Fraueninsel over the frozen lake, and the romantic Christmas market on the Fraueninsel is very highly recommended.
How to Get Here:
By train
You can get to Gstadt taking a train from Munich towards Salzburg, getting out at Prien. From there, take a bus (leaving left of the railway station) going to Seebruck or Traunstein. You can also take a boat or, or course, a taxi (which would cost some EUR 20).
By car
Take A8 Munich-Salzburg and get off at exit Bernau/Prien. Continue to Prien and Rimsting, then towards Traunstein to Gstadt. In town, turn right towards the lake at the ice cream parlor. Chiemseestern is on the right of the boat’s pier at the end of the beach promenade, on the right-hand side.
