SonoraConvenient Cocy with a scenic view from every angle.

I like the deck and spa would like to see a wind block on the north side for those heavy wind days. The spa was very soothing especially late when the moon rose. The kitchen was good and the living room area was sufficient. The chairs and couch were just a little uncomfy but we weren't sitting around much anyhow. Bedrooms and baths were fine.

We spent a lovely Christmas holiday at Seagaze. The cabin was the perfect size for our group - two couples and one child. It was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The beds were all very comfortable (everyone commented on how well they slept) and the kitchen had more than enough cookware and equipment to prepare even a very large meal. Unlike many other rentals I looked into, all amenities were included in the price such as bedding, towels, even unlimited firewood. We never tired of the amazing views from the deck, hot tub, and window seat. And there was a beautiful secluded beach cove just a short walk away.
Due to the corner lot and shrubbery the house feels quite private (especially the deck and hot tub). You can see the road but you hear the ocean much more than the cars. And Gualala was just a short drive away for any shopping we needed. Such a relaxing place - we all wish we had stayed longer! -

This was a return visit to Seagaze for my husband and I (and our 2 dogs) and it was every bit as relaxing the second time around. The house is in the perfect location, just minutes from town (with a number of stores and restaurants), a 10 minute walk to a beautiful, protected beach where the dogs ran themselves silly, and though it's directly off Hwy 101, there's no noticeable noise. We spend time each morning in the hot tub, enjoying the beautiful ocean view and each evening star gazing and relaxing. We ate most meals at Seagaze and I always found the utensil or container I needed while cooking. The kitchen is well stocked with towels, hot pads, pots and dishes as well as a toaster, coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven and various other appliances. The bedrooms are all very clean, comfortable and well appointed. The living room is very comfortable and provides another perfect view of the ocean.
The views are truly spectacular and Seagaze is such a comfortable and relaxing place, we didn't want to leave. We hope to go back again soon.Response from Coasting Home - 09/28/2011

Dear yogabug...we are so glad you enjoyed another visit!! Just a quick point for anyone who may pick up on the location description. The home sits on a knoll over Hwy 1, the two-lane road that meanders right along the rugged north coast shoreline (not Hwy 101). We look forward to your next visit to Seagaze!

We found Seagaze as advertised. There was a large yard for our dog and the view was beautiful from several windows. Loved the hot tub and it was well used.
Thanks for your help in finding it. My only complaint is that it is a long way from
Texas!!!
Kitchen was well equipped, I had a Bridesmaid luncheon for 14 ladies and we were very comfortable. -

Nice house but we wanted a house walking distance from walking trails. This was not it. Otherwise a very nice house. Some of the furniture and towels should be updated.

Loved the house! Everything we needed for our family was there... although we were told the beach was 2 blocks away and it was but after the two blocks we had to "hike" down to get there and it was a bit difficult with two very young children... otherwise, great location, great house... would definitely go back

Our stay at Seagaze was very pleasant. The house was very clean and comfortable and we truly enjoyed our stay. The view of the ocean was lovely, especially at night in the moonlight. We had a little trouble with the television and the phone. But upon reporting it, a service person came over immediately and fixed the television and replaced the phone. Excellent service! The town of Guala was just a few miles down the road with grocery stores & shopping. Overall we loved our stay, wish we could've stayed longer, and will definitely be back!

Normally, when my husband and I come up to the North Coast we stay in an ocean Sea Ranch home. This time, we booked a little late, and our choices were limited to a hillside Sea Ranch home or Seagaze.
My husband and I would return to Seagaze if our choices were extremely limited. The views were exquisite. The location was excellent. The beach was wonderful but to people not familiar with the beach's location, I can understand how people would miss it. The home was comfortable. My husband loved the hardness of the master bedroom's bed. I appreciated that we could use the phone for out-of-area calls (to check on our beagles being boarded during this time).
However, and this is a huge "however", the home lacked amenities we all take for granted. No central heat, no dishwasher, no garbage disposal, no laundry soap to wash clothes. There were no wash cloths, no coasters to protect the wood furniture, the porch light was out and I took a tumble down the stairs. When we checked in, we had a piddly amount of ice in the ice trays--no automatic ice maker.
As I've stated, we'd return only if our choices were severely limited. -

Seagaze is a lovely home. It is kind of out of the way, and I have to say, that even though they say it is just across the highway from a cove, we never found the cove and had to drive to any beaches. The other issue was cleanliness. The house was cleaned, but, when my daughter and her friend went downstairs and said "it smells like something died down here." I did not go down because I had a fractured ankle. The other cleanliness issue is that, while we understand that it is a dog friendly property, and we brought our dogs with us, there was dog poop out on the deck and in the yard. The property should be cleaned of all dog droppings before new guests arrive. Finally, the hot tub was turned up to 105 degrees when we got there, so your cleaning crews did not check that when they were there.
Again, the house is lovely, well equiped, nice views.

Four long time friends needed a weekend getaway and we found this property to be just perfect. With three bedrooms, a full kitchen, the deck, hot tub, beautiful views and surrounding property it was home away from home and then some. The beach was within walking distance and is located in a great little cove. Stores were also near by for any incidentals and we headed up the coast to Mendocino one day which was only an hour away.

This place has a perfect location for the price. Its over looking the ocean and walking disctance to a private beach where you can play with your dog. The place is clean but furniture needs to be changed--quit old and dirty. This place is perfect for 4 people. Its next to Hwy 1 but did not even bothered by it. Reminder, just make sure you bring your own paper towel and toilet paper--not supplied.
Will stay again for the price and convinience. -

We stayed here for Easter weekend. It was my parents, my husband and I, and our toddler. The house was the perfect size for that group. The cedar makes the house very inviting and cozy. There was easy access to a rather secluded beach. We brought our dog and had no problems. The hot tub was comfy and had an ocean view. I would definitely stay here again.

My stay with my family was comfortable and relaxing and peaceful...yet one could drive about 10 miles down the road for the local 4th of July Firework festivities or to see other beautiful beaches. The only issue I had was when a neighbor yelled at my son who was riding his bike down the shared access road...an older man came out and yelled, "your scaring the quails, go away!" I just told my son to put the bike away and to avoid the man. Thanks for the great stay!!!
