Falling in love with Guanajuato - again...

Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in March 2013

Everything the owner says about this place is absolutely true! Check-in was great as he and his local property manager are excellent communicators. The bed is extremely comfortable and the entire home is very nicely appointed. We like to cook and the kitchen was very accommodating. Views are very pleasant and expansive. Very, very Mexico. We spend 3-5 months in Mexico each year for the past 6. This is our overall favorite. Not as touristy as many other places so do remember your English/Spanish Dictionary & phrasebook. Private rooftop patio is frosting on the cake for this place. Morning coffee and late afternoon glass of wine while serenaded by the neighbors songbirds. (They go in before dusk)

A nice, decent, comfortable vacation home

Left on 11/03/2011 for a stay in October 2011

During my stay I was having trouble finding a good vacation home. The casa de sol was actually pretty well and comfortable place to stay at. I liked that it was walking distance from all the main tourist attractions and the walk up the stairs isnt really as bad as i thought. The manager of the place was very helpful and polite which was good. The only thing that kept it from being perfect was just the lack of T.V for the days one decided to stay in and also the bed sheets and towels were a bit dusty and stiff, and there was droppings on the outside hallway by the black stairs to the house which i assumed must have been from a neighbors dog or cat, you just have to be careful were you step. Other than that I enjoyed my stay, the house was spacious and with a great view of the city which at night is beautiful.

      Living in peace

Left on 06/18/2010 for a stay in April 2010

The people of Guanajuato live a laid back lifestyle and have a sense of community that really stood out. There were frequent festivals, parades, bands(or offers of private Mariachis to entertain me while I was sitting outside at a cafe). There are a lot of museums that are a great source of pride of the people. The hiking in the mountains was great as was simply walking the city.
The food was fantastic. The restaurants and street food was unique, unlike what we get under the guise of Mexican food here in the States, and delicious I might add. I was very satisfied with the quality of the restaurants and cafes, and the value was incredible. The small neighborhood markets had great fruits and vegetables. Local butcher shops were great.
The location of the house is terrific. Within a 3 minute walk, there are numerous markets, juice stands, wash dry and fold laundry, and immediate access to taxis. It only took 10 minutes to walk to downtown, where the restaurants and cafes are plentiful. The city is pristinely clean, clearly a matter of pride among its people. The views from the rooftop deck are absolutely spectacular. The unit itself was open and airy. I did a lot of cooking, and the kitchen was more than adequate.
Transportation was easy. The airport was 30 minutes away and there were no long lines. I felt safe the entire time I was in Mexico. I would describe safety precautions as I would anywhere else I've traveled. Just keep your eyes open and don't flash around expensive jewelry. Same as if you were going to any city in the United States actually. On the outskirts of the city there are lots of small towns which are worth the cab ride to explore also.
It was on of the most enjoyable vacations I' ve been on and I look forward to going back. I can reccommend it with
      full confidence.
