Boston, maAmazing view hidden paradise
Left on 03/26/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Ok First let me start by saying that no pictures can truly show how beautiful this property is, is beauty, nature, relaxation cleanness and excitement all mix together. So I traveled to Puerto Rico with my entire family of six and we travel every year to the same town because I'm a native and I never knew about this hidden paradise in the jobos bay until I found it online and immediately fell in love with the it. Pulling in you arrive in front of this huge gate that blocks the view of the house and all you see is this small gated private house, until you open the gate and walk into this hidden paradise with this amazing water view that it looks like is popping out of a film. As soon as you enter the house you can feel how fresh and breezy the house is with all the windows open, you walk into the living room/dining, that looks very tropical with the beautiful murals on the walls and immediately you are in the kitchen, very clean and fully equipped with what you need to cook your meals. The fridge is very clean also. Off the kitchen you go through a hallway and you find the family bathroom which is completely remodeled from head to toes with mosaics. The three Bedrooms are extremely spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The two air conditioning units work great, within minutes the rooms get very cold. Going outside you find the swimming pool and jacuzzi, they look great at night lighted up. The bar was a great asset with the coolers and outdoor kitchen, great for entertaining the large group of visitors we had a few nights. Walking down to the dock was like going on an adventure, looking at the exotic iguanas, fishes on the water (we saw a blow fish one morning) and the lobsters near the dock. gazing at the stars at night was amazing, I even saw a shooting star my last night there, and the sea life comes out at night to make loud noises in the water. Truly and amazing experience in a secluded beautiful place, is like owning your own little island.

Left on 03/02/2013 for a stay in February 2013
My husband and I stayed here with my two kids, and we honestly had no idea how huge the home was! We could have easily hosted an entire event there. It was very fun to have the home to ourselves though. Gauyama was accurately described to us as "the place where the Puerto Ricans go to vacation." Everyone has water toys, and I highly recommend hiring a private boat captain to take you to the secluded islands for day. It felt like we'd warped into the TV show "Lost". Very remote and only a few minutes from Bahia House by boat. We hired Tropical Pirates Eco Tours and they were fantastic! The only cons were that we couldn't get the stove and oven to work and we couldn't reach the owners for several hours. So we didn't have a home cooked meal that night, but we did find some cute places to eat in town. The only other con was the bug problem coming up out of the sink. Not that big of a deal (unless you're terrified of teeny tiny bugs), and I'd imagine its a pretty common issue. I recommend that if you're going to stay in Guayama, definitely rent the Bahia House. Everyone we spoke to knew exactly where we were describing.

DEE (DIGNA) RIVERA
LEBANON, PAGreat place to stay
Left on 06/30/2012 for a stay in June 2012
I did have to clean the place when I got there as there was a very strong smell. And didn't like the fact that the toilet seat was old and dirty and that the other bathroom's lock was broken and one of our friends stood locked inside the bathroom and we had to go open the door for him after hearing him call out our names (we found this to be hilarious, but he didn't..Haaahahahaha). in all fairness, I did call them about these issues and they said they were going to fix them...Hopefully they did, for the next guest convenience. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel..This is not the place for you.But after making certain adjustments to the beds and cleaning and making ourselves comfortable...Got to tell you... We had the time of our lives. It was so much fun staying there..Some days we didn't even feel like going anywhere...Because we loved the pool and the bay and the privacy..I enjoyed every minute of it. We are thinking of going again and this time staying longer. I am looking forward to staying there again...It was over all..A wonderful place to stay. If you love nature you will love it...I will give it 100% great experience. I dream about being there again..Everyday. loved it...Loved it...Loved it!!! Can't wait to go back to this paradise!!

It was nice to hear from them that they love their stay at BahiaHouse. When we spoke With Digna Rivera for the first time she had some concerns about the price and she sincerely told us that she want it to stay but din't have all the money for the reservation. In our conversation she also mentioned that her friend also want it to stay with them at the property. I spoke with Gabriel, and I told him about the situation they had and he immeditly said to me lets help them out. I call Digna and gave her the good news. We gave her a Stay in Bahia House for Half of the regular price taking in considaration all the personal issues they had. We are so happy that they love the place and we are looking for them to come back next year. All the little issues were corrected and Bahia House today still a private paradise. Everybody got different expectations.

Josue & Maria
San Jose, CaliforniaWe fell in love with Guayama!
Left on 01/18/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We decided to have our wedding reception here at the Bahia house. The place was big and with a few tents & decorations the place became even more magical. When we arrived Gabriel & his wife made us feel like family. We really appreciated the cleanliness and help they provided. The home was huge & it fit all 13 of us comfortably. The location of the home is a great town with wonderful people. The town's location in is a cultural gold mine for entertainment and socialization. The fishing town offered a fresh catch of the day if you asked the right people; needless to say we ate a lot of fresh seafood. Our new friends are incredible; Cheo our neighbor is a humble superstar of the town. He can provide anything from boat rides to nearby secluded islands, scuba diving or snorkeling (even horseback if you ask) for cheap. Guillo visited us daily to see if we needed anything. Our other neighbor Roberto & his wife provided emergency tailoring for cheap. Our experience was a delightful one. If you are looking for luxury go to a fancy resort. However, if you are like us & love the cultural mingling when traveling then this is the spot. We praise the beautiful spirit of the people in Guayama & their hospitality. Puerto de Jobos is a developing barrio & the only drawback is remembering not to flush the toilet paper in the toilet. Gaby is a great host who accommodates his guests with services & a wealth of Puerto Rican knowledge in regards to activities and events in the area & Island. If you decide to go make sure to say hello to Carmelo & Luis aKa "Chonchi" the "local ambassadors” who will provide local goods & company. This vacation was a great family experience for all ages from 6-62. We found the best experience possible for our money. We appreciated the economic relations between us & the locals rather than giving it to the corporate industry. Guayama is full of colonial history and natural beauty. Bahia house was our vacation while on vacation, our home away from home.

We loved our stay at the Bahia house and wished for another week of total relaxation. Clean, comfortable and very romantic, private setting. We had the most luscious, fresh mangoes fall from the tree, several every day! Close to shopping, major roads and sight seeing galore. The property is quite large with several areas to enjoy sun or shade. The sunsets over the bay were gorgeous and we watched dolphin fishing several times. The owners were amazing and go out of their way to make you feel at home and also took us on a wonderful trip to some islands for a day of swimming and fun! Great folks, we really enjoyed meeting them. A special thank you to Megan Maria, you sold us on the rental with that first phone conversation! We look forward to coming back again!

One of Puerto Rico's Best Kept Secrets
New York City, NYOne of Puerto Rico's Best Kept Secrets
Left on 01/27/2011 for a stay in December 2010
When I first walked onto the property, I loved the fact that Mr. Gabriel Gonzalez and his wife were waiting to meet us and give us a detailed tour of the property. I also loved that the back yard extended all the way to the Bay where we saw the Manatee playing several times during our stay. The Pool had a beautiful fountain and was very well kept (clean) as well as the jacuzzi. My kids spent their days in the pool. On Christmas day I had my extended family come over to celebrate the holiday with us. ( My family is very big.) In all, there were about 75 people. We used both kitchens and the outdoor grill to cook. There is an area across from all the houses where additional vehicles can be parked, and all of our cars fit comfortably. A tour of the Bay included in the rental of the home was used on this day, and the Captain was nice enough to take the boat out a second time to accomodate all the kiddies. The picnic tables have shade umbrellas and the foliage provides plenty of shade throughout the back of the house. Towards the end of the celebration there were those who lived too far to drive that night. No problema, the house has 11 (eleven) beds that accomodate up to 17 people comfortably. Six double beds, four twin beds and one futon. Wow! It was great waking up to the chatter of all the fun we had the day before. This was a very memorable holiday for all of us.
I must add that Mr. Gonzalez and his wife were most pleasant and obliging to all our needs, he called us several times to make sure everything was in order. Did I mention that we saw the Manatee in the Bay several times.
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez. My kids want to make this their permanent vacation home in Puerto Rico. I look forward to a long business relationship.Response from Gabriel Gonzalez - 02/15/2011
