If you need multiple homes this sparse house is for you.

We chose this home because of the multiple units on one property and because of its proximity to the river. If you need this kind of arrangement, this house certainly works nicely. However, we certainly had to compromise the quality of the house in terms of luxury. We have rented homes in the RR for many years and this was certainly the most modest home we have rented, especially for the money. The main house has an ant problem and with a small child it was quite distressful. Additionally, we were notified the morning of our arrival that the city would be turning off the water on the final day of our trip. While I certainly understand unforeseen issues like this, when I asked the office if they could help their answer was "go fill buckets from the basement with water the night before." I pressed and asked if they could provide some large bottles of water for basics like teeth brushing they reluctantly said they would drop some off the night before. They never arrived. Needless to say, this certainly left a bad impression on me and will make me think twice before renting with them in the future. Read more

I'm happy to respond to your review. Otter's Landing is very accurately portrayed on our website as a great property with multiple units. The photos show the houses as (what I consider) traditional river style.
And I think we misunderstood each other in communicating as well. The water company notified us the same day you arrived that the water might be turned off the morning of the day you were scheduled to depart (at 11 am). This isn't something we can control, and as it turned out, the water wasn't turned off until much later. We offered to bring water to the property and shared some tips in case of the water shut off, but discovered that your group left the night before scheduled check out. We also offered to reimburse any charges for bottled water purchased in preparation.
I'm sorry this house wasn't the right fit for your group - we try to match folks with homes they will love and enjoy! We didn't know about the ants, I'm sorry, but we could have addressed it if you let us know as well.

Rare find in Russian River

We had a large group of friends, and needed a place that would accommodate everyone while also giving us some access to the river. This place worked out perfectly, and the rental company did a great job making the process as smooth as possible. Everything is as described, and I will definitely book again here in the future.
Perfect location for a family reunion

The amenities were great. Right on the river. Great deck for watching the water pass by. Onsite canoes and other goodies.
I was greatly impressed by how easy Russian River Vacation homes made the experience. When I left a book there on accident they went through the property, found it and Fedexed it back to me.
Thanks for sharing a review of Otter's Landing and office folks! We're always happy to work with folks to track down left items - unfortunately, we don't find every one, but most - and to ship them back.
The Cottage, studio and loft are great spaces for families and friends that want to stay together, but need some privacy too.

Otter's Landing is perfect for multiple families that want to have a little privacy from each other but still enjoy getting together for activities and meals. The view from the loft is amazing! The yard is gorgeous and you might even catch a deer and her fawn wandering around the garden. The only thing that made it challenging for some of the older folks were all the stairs between the cottages but for the younger folks this provided some much needed exercise! All the kitchens were well equipped and the cottages in general were lovely. Read more

We appreciate your review and hope we'll see you again! Yes, the cabins are lifted (equals stairs) to keep them out of the flood zone, so there's plenty of good exercise opportunity as you said. But the owners have done a great job capitalizing on the views and spaces available for guests.

Otter's landing is a nice large 3 cottage rental. We enjoyed our stay and really loved kayaking on the Russian River.
Our only complaint was the Bbq's need some lovin. The one down on the lawn did not work at all (clogged fuel line perhaps).
Overall - a great trip at a nice, clean rental. Read more

Thank you for the review! Otter's Landing is a great spot! I wish you'd called the office right away about the BBQs so we could send someone over to deal with them... We have inspectors check each home before guests arrive, but if something is missed they can come over right away. We also have full propane tanks available if it ran out...
