Tulsa, OKLoved the beach and loved the condo!
Left on 08/18/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Our trip was very "last minute" and we had never rented a condo or stayed in Gulf Shores before. We were somewhat at the mercy of the rental agent regarding what would be available. When we got to the condo, we were so pleasantly surprised. The two bedroom layout was great for a teen who needed privacy and the bunk bed kidroom was just right for the other kid. I enjoyed having a real bedroom and bathroom all to myself. Really enjoyed how close the beach and beach "hang outs" were in relation to the condo. So glad we had a washer and dryer to wash bathing suits and items that got "ocean water" wet and dirty during the day. Had a great time and we'll be back!

The condo was very nice and we enjoyed our stay except for the oil! I felt that the condo should have givn some type of incentive or bonus for coming at a time maybe a night free or some free entertainment. I felt that the red flags were up and they warned swimmers not to go into water. But, they did not close the beaches because they would have had to refund the money. Also, I called up until the night that we left and spoke to representatives about the oil spill and they said its business as usually the oil was not there. I dont think lying is a way to get guest to come honesty is alot better policy! It would have meant alot if someone could have offered a little incentive for guest. I have 2 children that was very disappointed that the beach was so oily and that we were lyied to up until the very moment. The oil just did not get there the same day we did surely you dont think people believe that. It sad for everyone but show some appreciation for the people that still chose to come and not cancel.

This was our 5th stay with Youngs Suncoast and at the Lighthouse. We can always trust Youngs to place us in a wonderful vacation unit and their service is top notch! This unit was beautifully furnished with an awesome view. The beds were SO comfortable and the ammenities were the best! We will definately be back!

loved the view of the ocean, you can sit outside in the morning and watch the dolphins swimmimg and jumping around. the beach was awsome, very clean. the only thing we didn't like was the bed in the master bedroom was very hard. and the chairs around the dinning table are also very hard to sit in for long periods of time. Still I loved the place and will go back again...

Jackson, TNwonderful cond complex
Left on 05/21/2009 for a stay in May 2009
Our trip to Gulf Shores was, as usual, wonderful and relaxing. Except for the refrigerator not working properly, everything was great. Maintenance did get us another refrigerator to help keep our groceries cold, which did help. We really enjoy staying at the Lighthouse and really enjoy the covered parking. Hopefully, we will be coming back in October for another relaxing vacation!

NW ArkansasNot quite up to my expectations
Left on 04/02/2009 for a stay in March 2009
I arrived at Young's on Sunday to check in and was told they didn't have any parking passes available because the place they get them from doesn't sell them on the weekend. I was given a "temporary" pass and told that I could come back and get one later in the week. I wasn't very pleased at the prospect of having to return and handle "business" on my vacation. They knew I was arriving. Why didn't they have a parking pass available?
I actually had a security guard approach me about my "temporary" parking pass and indicated that it wasn't valid and I could get towed. I never made it back to the office to pick up my parking pass but luckily the security guard understood it wasn't my fault I didn't have one.
The condo itself was OK, but there were issues.
There were stains all over the carpet. Why so light carpet in a rental? The bedding appeared to show some age and probably should have been replaced by now.
It was nice to have the kitchen but the cookware was cheap and slim pickings. I understand it is a rental, but we cooked a lot and would like to have more appropriate cookware, etc. for the price we paid.
The refrigerator never really seemed to keep our food/beverages cold. I would call it "cool" rather even though it was turned up almost to the maximum.
It was nice to have TVs and DVD players, but those, too were cheap.
I enjoyed Gulf Shores and will definitely be back...Not to this particular property though.Response from Young's Suncoast Vacation Rentals - 04/03/2009

Thank you so much for letting us know your thoughts from your recent vacation in the Lighthouse. We are very sorry the parking passes were not available upon your check in and had personally arranged for you to post the temporary passes in your window throughout your stay. Please be assured we are contacting the owners of the condo to express your thoughts and offer guidance on how to update the condo. I have personally mailed a letter to you along with a 10% gift certificate. Please come stay with us again and I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. TennesseeNot clean
Left on 03/25/2009 for a stay in March 2008
We had been to the Lighthouse before, and were very pleased. This year 1606, however
did not compare to last year. The carpet was very stained. The smallest bathroom did notlook as if the tub was cleaned before our arrival. There were hairs on 3 of the towels.
Master bath was clean. Master bed, sheets were stained. I had to do laundry and clean myself upon arrival. Due to this, we will
not be returning next year. Unit did not meet our expectations for the cleaning fee
we paid, as I had to clean myself.

Home was nice, but kitchen was not very well appointed. We had to go out and buy a skillet and corkscrew. The indoor pool and workout area were very nice. The kids loved the bunkroom. The ladies a Suncoast were VERY helpful and friendly. Overall, it was a positive experience.
