Gulf Shores is a great place to relax! The Sandpiper is a great place to stay. We book here every year. It's right on the beach. It's also convenient to restaurants and shopping. It's a great place for family.

We had a great time in Gulf Shores. Our condo was conviently located with easy access to the pool and beach. The only thing bad thing was the people upstairs from us was very loud.

My extended family has come to Gulf Shores, Sandpiper for 26+ years (60 to 75 persons per year). My condo 10A was in excellent condition and updated recently. My complaint was with the continuous failure of the elevator. Especially on the check-in and checkout days. This has happened for at least 10 years. My siblings all complained of the lack of dishes, utensils, un-updated appliances, old, original furniture, flat screen TVs (TV are less expensive now than just a few years ago), carpet, etc. in their units ( 15 spoons, 4 forks, etc). We have been coming long enough to know the original bamboo furniture We understand that there have recently been low rental years because of mother nature & BP, but that is not our problem or fault. We love the size of the facility (48 units) and proximity to the pool and beach. If we did not, we would not come back year after year. Bill Bender and Bender Realty are a major reason for our return each year. Something has to be done to encourage owners to commit to a major update of their units. Maybe a rating system of each unit twice a year (Dec. & July. Based on your rating could determine which units get rented first. I have noticed that along with the overall deterioration of the complex, the quality and life style of your tenants has deteriorated as well. Clean it up. Fix it up and raise the rental fees accordingly. I rent two units (10A & 11A). 11A is great and 10A is needing major upgrades of furniture and appliances & utensils (I pay nearly or the same amount for each which isn't fair.). There is a brand new complex up the road toward 59 that has 4 bedrooms & 4 baths that I can rent for $3000.00 per week! This is nearly the same as I am paying (siblings too!)for inferior accommodations at the un-updated condos at the Sandpiper. I own my own business and sometimes I have to spend money to make money long term. So do you owners.

This is the second time our family has stayed in this complex. We love the laid back friendly atmosphere with great views and access to the beach. The complex is well maintained. Parking is a little tricky with very tight turns to get in and out. Great family vacation spot.

Our 4 families stayed on the 1st floor of the Sandpiper. We enjoyed being connected by the walking deck. Perfect layout of Condo's. Everyone was courteous and maintance was prompt when I needed something taken care of. We will definitely be back.

We liked Sandpiper's location. Enjoyed the WiFi availability. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen supplies adequate though the missing cupboard shelf made accessing the bowls.etc. a bit challenging for two short women. (We are two widows sharing the condo.) The little balcony was nice, so was the little chest in the master bath.

Our family loves to visit Gulf Shores and we love staying at the Sandpiper. It is a great place to stay. You are just a few hundred feet from the beach and within close proximity to the great restaurants and stores. We can't wait to visit again!

Skillets need to be replaced and if replacing(hopefully) with nin-stick need to provide the proper utensils for cooking in non-stick.

Bathrooms need minor reparis, smelled like mildew. Unit above us had small children, so we were awaken every morning at 6:30am.

Thanks for letting us know about the minor repairs in the bathrooms. Didn't find any "mildew" or other odors though - had the tile floors thoroughly cleaned just to be sure.

The unit was nice. Not as updated as some others but served our purposes well. The pool was great and loved being close to the beach. Close enough to town but quiet enough.

We had a very nice stay at the Sandpiper. This was our third or fourth stay in unit 10A , starting in 1994. This time we did notice a strong odor of charcoal lighter fluid coming from the grilling area right below the unit.
I also had a issue with an "Owner" who thinks because she is an "Owner" can take a persons pool side chair. I guess being a " RENTER " for a week does not get you a chair at a table where all your family is sitting. I guess I needed a reminder that I was a guest. And that rudeness is now in vogue in this country. -

The unit and property was nice and comfortable but the furniture & amenities could be better. One BIG problem we had was with the Owners in 10B unit above us. They kept us up until 2 AM each night (up at 7 AM) after we reported them 3 times! Very unfair to paying guests! We had a 6 year old that was more behaved than these adults. This property is usually 'family' oriented but NOT this time. We got some rest & relaxation AFTER we got home!!

everything was very clean except the ceiling fans.I cleaned them because the dust blew off when we turned them on other than that I was very satified with everything and we will be back to share your condos ,thanks again for a home away from home. p kraft-louisville

The unit was not the one we had booked so that was disappointing. Furniture in this unit was a little worn but the bedding was good. Please tell all these folks who still have the old white melamine cabinets that its high time to replace them after 30 years!!! Faucet in bath leaks and the kitchen items are a little sparce compared to other units in here.
