The condo was in a beautiful spot right on the beach. The views were spectacular. The building was very well taken care of, and this condo was a perfect vacation for our family of 6. Very clean, well stocked, and location couldn't be better! We appreciated the courtesy of the folks at Bender Realty also in making the booking very painless.

Had a wonderful time with our son and his family - plenty of room for all
The only issue we had was the bathrooms needed better cleaning and a good overall dusting throughout. Would definitely recommend this unit and would stay again. -

I had never rented a condo before so I was a little concerned about what I was getting into. This place was great. LOVED the balcony. Had everything we needed in the kitchen. Plenty of blankets and pillows. The only thing was the recliner was VERY broken. My son was the only one who could use it. lol Not a big deal though. We will be back and will keep this place on the list.

Our family rented this beautiful three bedroom/three bath unit for the week of July 4th. We loved the location and the layout of the unit for our teenaged son and daughter (and a friend). The beach is beautiful and the fireworks were AWESOME from the pier that we watched from the balconey. Beautiful weather and a beautiful unit. Elevators worked fine. The sliding doors to the balcony were tough to move, but if we didn't close them completely, they were much easier to open. The front door knob does not seem to latch well, but we were fine using the deadbolt when necessary. I would highly recommend replacing the recliner in the living room. We tried to open the legs and could barely get them retracted. The seat of the chair is also breaking apart. We advised realtor about the cabinet door under the sink that fell off in my hand on the last night.
We loved our time in Gulf Shores and wanted to stay another week!!! Nice unit for families. -

Pool is in shade most of the day,but is very good if you have small children.Indoor pool goes out side as well,however if you are a sun girl or boy you must go to the beach for your tan.Had a great stay and love the people of Gulf Shores,even came when we heard that was oil spill just to show them our support!!!!!

The condo was beautifully decorated, location was fantastic -- on the beach with a beautiful view.
The only downside was the elevator broke down the night before we left. We had to climb the eight flight of stairs with elderly parents. The elevator remained out of order the following morning we had to check out so carrying luggage and supplies for six individuals and assisting the elderly down the eight floors was very inconvenient and unsafe. No one from the condo staff offered or acknowledged whether anyone needed any assistance moving their luggage, etc. I really felt sorry for the elderly folks who did not have younger adults their to help them with their luggage.
Otherwise the beach and condo was beautiful. -

We enjoyed our stay, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Maintenance was very quick to fix a few minor problems with our disposal in the kitchen sink, and the slow drain in the master bath. Our only complaint about the conditions were the dirty
toilets. You could see black mold under the rim of the toilets, and in the master bath, the mold was beginning to grow into the toilet. The rest of the condo was clean adn well taken care of. -

Beer bottle caps were found all over our unit and the bathrooms were also not very clean upon our arrival. The unit was nice, but we have stayed in much nicer units for a lot less money. We definitly did not feel that this unit was worth the almost 2000
we paid. -

This year we brought our sons, their wives, and four granddaughters. Although we liked Island Royale overall, the fact that there is no bathroom accessible downstairs makes ataying there with small children difficult. To use the bathroom, we would have to wait for the elevator and go the 8 flights up - and for the first two days, one of the elevators was broken, making for a very long wait.

1. No WiFi service, spent a long time on phone with Harbour Communications never got it to work, speaking with other tenants theirs was not working either.
2. Doors hard to lock and open both front and patio.
3. Rodents in pool area
4. People smoking in pool/hot tub area with no enforcement of no smoking policy.
5. Exhaust fans & dryer vents at entry door to condo with large draft from bottom of door.
6. Long time for elevators/ and or 1 not working.
7. Condo could have been cleaner, behind doors on floors, pantry area etc...
8. Amount of money paid expected higher quality, and use of all amenties.
9. Outdoor pool small with no sun.

Cleaning fee too expensive. Management did not know where workout room was located so had to do some detective work to find it ourselves. Apartment had a couple of maintenance issues that we told management about upon leaving. But, I suspect they are a couple of things that have been an issue for awhile. Entrance door sticks so difficult to get in and sliding screen door to balcony in living room has to be lifted to slide. Excellent location right on beach. Balcony is amazing in the apartment. All bedrooms had their own bathroom and flatscreen. Master bedroom had a sliding door to the balcony which was wonderful to open and listen to waves. Managment was nice & we did book this property on short notice so overall happy with property and stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We can access anything in Gulf Shores within a few miles of the condo. The staff at Bender Realty was a pleasure to work with. The staff was very courteous, as well as informative regarding things to do in Gulf Shores, as well as good places to eat. We have stayed at the same condo for the past 3 years, and enjoy each vacation we spend there.

We have not been back to Gulf Shores since 2005 and had seen all the pictures and news reports on the oil spill and it's impact to Gulf Shores. We were surprised and very pleaesed that we could enjoy those early morning walks on your beach and swim and float in those beautiful Gulf waters with no problems with oil or those dreaded tar-balls. The deadbolt was the only way to lock and unlock the door and it was VERY difficult to lock and unlock. The doorknob was very loose and needed repair. The air conditioning worked but took a very long time to cool the condo - it didnt seem to cool very well. Overall the building was very nice and the location was great.

The issue we had (with 3 kids) is we had to go further down the beach b/c the rental chairs took up the entire area in front of the condo. Our second and most important was there is no restroom in the pool area or anywhere. We had to bring the kids to the room every time they had to use the restroom. Also, the elevator broke the day before we left but it was fixed that same big deal. I would stay here again and also do business with Bender again. This was our 5th time dealing with Bender and every time was a pleasant one.

The pool area was a big disappointment, it was in the shade all day with no sun at all. The room could have been cleaner, there was sand all in the floor when we arrived, so the first thing that I had to do was sweep the floors. I liked how the walk to the beach was really short.

The condo was in a perfect location, and fit the needs of our family. It was spacious, had a terrific view, and was equipped with everything I would need from home. My only disappointment was the cleanliness of the condo. The kitchen area and linens on the bed seemed very clean; however, the bathrooms were left dirty. There was black under the rim of the toilets, hairs on the sinks and the soap dishes were dirty. It also seemed like the place had not been thoroughly swept because balls of dust and a few wrappers came out from under the bed in the 2nd bedroom (with attached balcony). The showers didn't appear to be clean as well. I would enjoy staying at this condo again, as long as I was guaranteed it would be more clean the next time we stayed. We definitely are planning on returning next year, and will be booking another rental soon.

Our stay at Island Royale 806 was great. I did have a few issues with some of the lights not working and the dryer not drying properly. I called to report the light issue but noone every came to fix the problem. I have rented from Bender several times and never had a problem, but this unit was not the cleaniest I have seen in the past. All of my issues were reported to Bender. I will be renting from Bender again in the future.

The condo was great and the layout very much accommodated our three families. We were some what disappointed that such a nice place wasn't any more clean than it was. On our next trip to Gulf Shores we will want to stay in 806 again.

We had a family vacation requested by our mom, who was diaganosed with Brain cancer earlier this year. Bender Reality made it very easy and pleasureable. I would always recommend Bender to friends travelling.

The unit was very nice and roomy ~ we loved the large balcony. The toilet in master bathroom would not properly flush. We called maintenance, repairman came, but it never was repaired. The dryer would not heat enough to dry the clothes. This sounds like I am complaining but the unit was beautiful and in a great location.

The pool looked wonderful on-line, but it is in an area where it is shaded by the hotels shadows and it was to cold to swim in even in the Summer! Big disappointment for the kids.
