Unit 114 at Gulf Village is in disrepair. The patio door had no working lock, the walls were in need of paint, window blind slats broken. Not properly cleaned - We had to sweep the living room floor when we arrived to get up the sand and hair.

Great location not to far from the main strip and right on the beach. Accommodations were good for the age of the unit however it dose need some TLC from normal wear and tear. Spent five nights and cooked most of the time in the unit which we found everything we needed to prep food for a family of 5. Even purchased seafood from local markets and were able to steam cook at the unit. First time @ Gulf shores and we found the air temp and water to our satisfaction kids saw dolphins and sea turtles while at the beach. Definitely will return again next year.

Loved the beach, and the location of the condo was great. We even met new friends! The condo itself however was lacking. They should follow up on the cleaning crew. We had sand on the chairs, and floors. Rugs were dirty. Sliding door didnt lock,DVD player didnt work. They stored the dustpan on the shelf in the closet where I was supposed to put my food. 1 steak knife, bar in shower broke, fans in bedrooms looked like they would fly away when on. TV's were very fuzzy. Missing the toliet paper holder. With the money they make each week they could maybe afford to paint the inside?? Steam clean the carpets in the bedroom?? The propety needs to have better upkeep, and updates. However we did enjoy ourselves dispite the minor issues. How can you not enjoy the beach!

We had a great time. The location is perfect, just a walk out your door to the beach and the pool. Close enough to restaurants and shops but still private.
We decided to cook in a couple of nights and the set of silverware was quite bare, but not a deal breaker. Also, the first day a maintenance man came by in the afternoon which we were not aware of to fix a door handle. It would have been nice to know to expect him. We only had one trash bag, one package of dishwasher detergent, and one roll of paper towels. Those kinds of things you don't think to bring to the beach or purchase and it would have been nice to have atleast more trash bags.
Overall our stay was wonderful and we had a very comfortable stay. -

The condo unit itself was real nice. The G.V.condo association really needs to start work on the building. Plaster and concrete are falling off the stairs, paint is peeling off the doors and rails. I have stayed at Gulf Village many many times and just
loved it. I'm sad to say I won't be back to G.V.until the place is fixed up again. That is a bad deal for your unit owners too. -

This trip was a last minute decision for us. We were concerned about not finding the kind of place you would normally find with pre-planning. The good folks at Bender changed that! Gulf Village was the perfect spot! Great stay and awesome location very close to anything you need.........and.......right on the beach!! Thank you to the great staff at Bender for making our short vacation perfect!!

With the current oil spill there were only tar balls on the beach the first day but after that no tar balls and the beach was beautiful. No bad smell from the oil either

We love Gulf Shores and Gulf Village. Our overall stay was great. However, I would recommend you check behind your cleaning staff. Unit was not very clean on our arrival. The floors were filthy and appeared they hadn't been swept or mopped in a while.

We have used Bender several times in the past, have always been happy w/their service..they're always nice & helpful. Overall, the unit was clean. Only negative is that patio was covered w/cig ashes when we arrived, and the bulb was blown in the main bedroom. Also, the lounge chair on the patio is dry rotted & should be discarded or replaced. We will be back, and Bender will be our first call when we attempt to make reservations.

Only complaint I have is that the bath mats need to be replaced. They were dirty and in poor shape. Owner should update.

The realty company may want to review the cleaning service. Upon arrival, the bathroom was not as clean as I would expect. For instance, there was hair in the bathtub, obviously not mine! The kitchen seemed to be clean,however I did prewash all dishes before using them. Otherwise, we had a great vacation.

This property was a perfect location for my family, the unit needed a few repairs and the bathrooms were not clean, I was impressed with the way Bender responded when I contacted them, I would definitely rent from Bender again and recommend them to anyone.

On our last night of our vacation I locked my purse in the unit. Unfortunately we had already turned in the keys to unlock the door. I was extremely impressed on how quickly the property manager came to my rescue and opened the door. I was so thankful and completely satisfied with the service that I am already on planning my next stay Spring Break of 2009.
