We really enjoyed our stay @ Gulfside Townhomes! We have stayed at this location for years! We went down for Shrimp fest and this was perfect! We walked down instead of driving, so we didn't have to fight traffic! Loved that! Nothing wrong with the unit; I would just change the decor, especially in the 2nd bedroom ( the wall hangings).All in all,nice place, we would definitely stay there again!

The condo was clean and pleasantly furnished. The staff was helpful and friendly. There were a couple of bathroom fixtures that were missing but they in no way affected our showering and cleaning up. Would certainly recommend it.

Everything was great except for the general cleaning when we checked in the tile floors were all sticky like they hadn't been washed or if they had it was done with dirty water. But other than that everything was great.

My family and I stayed at Gulfside Townhomes, Unit 21 from august 13th through the 20th. We were pleasantly surprised with the units overall condition. I was a little afraid of this unit from some of the reviews I have previously read. There are some repairs that need to be done in the unit. The sliding door on the first floor balcony is difficult to open. By the end of the week, we had figured out the easiest way to pry it open when we went out. The living room was in nice shape. Plenty of seating, we had four adults and a one year old on our trip. The kitchen is on the smaller side, but had plenty of cookware, silverware, plates, etc. to make the job manageable. There is a ½ bath on the lower level. It appeared that they are in the middle of changing out some of the fixtures, (they were under the sink in the packages) so it may be more up to date by the time someone else stays in this unit. Both bedrooms are upstairs, with two additional full baths. The bedrooms are much larger than the pictures that I have seen online, and we were very pleased with the size of the master bedroom and the balcony on the second level. The air vent in the master bedroom was showing some signs of rust, not sure if it has leaked in the past, but we did not have any problems with it while we were on vacation. The temperature was in the low to mid 90’s all week, and we were comfortable every time we made it back to the room, the air conditioning was running great. The best part of this unit is the fact that you have a straight on view of the ocean from the balconies. The pool is also right in front of the condo, so it is a very short walk to the pool. The pool was not crowded while we were on vacation, so we spent plenty of time at the pool. The beach is also a very short walk from the unit. The pictures make it seem further away than it actually is. If you have never been to Gulf Shores the beaches are absolutely beautiful. White sand beaches and not very crowded if you go in the middle of august. There is also a storage unit with lock and key on the ground level of the condo unti. This was extremely helpful, considering the fact that my 1 ½ year old had plenty of beach toys that I had to drag to the beach every day. Being able to leave them in this storage unit was my savior. Bender Realty is a very short drive, about 1/2 mile or less from the unit. Unit 21 does not have wifi, but the Realty office does and they told me that if I needed to use the wifi I could drive up and use it in the office, or use it from my car if I needed. They were very friendly, and very helpful in telling us some fun activities to do in the area. Overall, our stay was a very nice stay and I would not hesitate to stay in this unit, or this complex again. I cannot wait to go back.

First time in a end unit, loved the total view of the property as well as the ocean. The unit was great and the beach even better. After a two year absence from Gulf shores, there was a significant increase in beach patrol as well as medical assistance.
That was outstanding! -

The location is great - and my kids loved the pool and access to the beach. The condo is fairly old and showing wear and tear despite the new paint/decor. Several things were broken and my husband had tighten a door handle so we could use it.

The complex itself is a great place to stay and Bender was very friendly and easy to work with. This particular unit was still pretty dirty and the carpet was filthy with stains.

We have stayed at this property before, so we knew what to expect as far as location, amenities, etc. The main difference for us this time was that the unit is showing signs of age and could use some maintenance. The master sliding door is corroded and would not open without being forced open. The lack of a good seal around that door made the master bedroom warmer than the rest of the condo. After a day of rain, the ceiling vent in the hall bathroom experienced some dripping. In addition, half way through the week, the larger air return vent in the hallway started dripping and we had to use containers to collect the water. I guess the rust stains around the vents on the upper floor should have clued us into some of the problems. Bender Realty was very responsive to all of our concerns and did the best they could to remedy things during our stay, but some longer term maintenance needs to be done. Despite these things, we had a great vacation and Bender made check-in and check-out easy and quick.

Everything was great other than a few items: People consistently tried to use the pool loudly at 11:00 p.m. The reason for the low clean score is there were broken glass shards on the kitchen floor and the toilet had dried urine running down the front in one BR. The parking is not good if you have anything other than a small car if your in this unit. Very limited turning around space. Grounds and pool were beautiful.

We love the location and the grass and pool area of the complex. The condo we stayed in had burned out lightbulbs and broken blinds. The was a leak in the bathroom and the air conditioner was broken. The management took prompt care of things, though. The furniture and bedding have seen better days. The kitchen is small and closed off. The decor is dated. We loved the location and the outdoor amenities.

Two things I forgot to mention when we checked out. The icemaker did not work. There did not seem to be any water coming into it. Also, when it rained the blinds in the kitchen window were wet, maybe from the top of the window. Neither of these things made our visit any less enjoyable. We loved it all and will come again.

It was wonderful. Sitting on the balcony, you were looking over the pool and right at the ocean. The landscaping was very pretty and well kept. The townhome was nice, very comfortable and decorated cute. The covered parking was great! It was extremely convenient. We will definitely stay there again!

I actually rented three condo units for my family. Units 31 and 19 were up to the usual high standards we have come to expect from Bender after more than 12 years of renting various properties from them. Unit 21 was not as clean and had pest problems. There were wasp nests on the patio and ants on the kitchen counter. A maintenance person from Bender eliminated the wasps, but the ants were an ongoing problem. I even bought some spray for the ants, however it did not seem to work. The icemaker in the refrigerator did not work properly. The biggest disappointment was on Friday late afternoon when the pool was suddenly closed without any prior notice. Supposedly it was to "shock" the pool. All of us, especially the grandchildren, were upset that we would not be able to use the pool on our last night of vacation. As I said, we were not told anything in advance and that was really aggravating as we traditionally use that last night to swim and wind down before departing on Saturday. Advance notice would have at least allowed us to make alternate plans.

Overall it was a good stay. We encountered a few problems, but nothing major. When we got there we found ants in the kitchen, The coffe pot was dirty. and the sofa-sleeper was unusable. These things wouldn't keep us from going back, but it would have made our experience more enjoyable.

I had a nice week at Gulf Shores. Everybody at Bender Realty was wonderful. Condo was nice and clean. I like the smaller condos better than the big 20 story ones. Unit 21 could invest in a new Char Grill and better pots and pans. (Pots and pans were paper thin)

The condo was wonderful! The layout was great with plenty of room for everyone; kitchen w/ appliances, washer/dryer, towels/linens. A home away from home! The beach was right outside the back door. If you are looking for a place on the beach for a reasonable price, and want a place with personality and functionality, this is your place! I was completely satisfied!

Gulfside Townhomes was awesome! It is not a huge complex which made it less crowded and we loved this aspect especially accessing the pool when needed. The property was very well-kept and the condo was fabulous! Townhome #21 was like having a beachfront view. Even after staying at other condos here in GS we would make this our first choice to come to when we return next time. We also liked how close it was to the main road. The other condos seemed as though we had to drive a long way down the road but GS townhomes is very accessible. We have already recommended this to our friends here. LOVED IT!!

Parking is not a problem and more than several of the units were empty during our week. We have stayed at this property every year for very nearly 20 years and for the first time were told we would have to move our boat elsewhere or it would be towed! Not necessary.
