From the moment we opened the door on the ninth floor of the condo our two families loved our stay! We enjoyed the spectacular view of the beach and Gulf from the balcony and enjoyed relaxing and listening to the endless waves crashing the shoreline all day long. Living on the top floor shielded us from some partying below from some younger folk and provided us some extra privacy from beach life. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking supplies and all the appliances worked fine. The condo is well located to para sail with Ike's (a short walk down the beach), shelling in the AM or crabbing in the PM. A short fifteen minute drive east and you were in Orange Beach for deep sea fishing adventures, or a shorter distance along the same route is the Gulf State Park and fishing Pier! Several times during the week we enjoyed a quick quarter mile walk to S & S Seafood on the corner of 11th St. and West Beach Blvd for fresh steamed shrimp, homemade gumbo, tuna spread or fresh grouper (which we cooked on our own at the condo). Also I recommend DeSoto's or Lamberts for a family seafood experience...we also dined at Louisiana Lagniappe in Orange Beach (fantastic, but a bit more expensive...wouldn't take the kids). We enjoyed The Hangout one night as well at the corner of 59 and West Beach Blvd.. You're close to Walmart or The Pelican Place if weather is lousy and you want to shop or get some groceries. All in all we spent the week doing what we wanted. The only negatives would be the pullout bed in the living room is very uncomfortable (along with the mattresses in the two master bedrooms); the leather chair in the living room is falling apart; and the wireless and cable services (along with a higher quality tv) need upgrading...but these issues would not deter us from returning (would be a great improvement though)!

My family and I came down for a wedding and stayed at the Westwind. The condo is in a great location and right across the street from the management company. The condo is very spacious and being that it was the top floor only had one neighbor that we only saw and heard from when we used the elevator. The balcony is large and spacious and the view was fantastic. The only problems that we had were some of the seats on the balcony were unusable since they had deteriorated, 2 barstools, and the recliner in the living room were also broken. The cleaning service could have done a better job also. Other than those minor issues we had a fabulous time and thought the condo overall was great!

Bender is Great!! My family and I checked into another unit in the building through another local property management company and it was in terrrible condition - AC not working, balcony railing loose, floors filthy, unit showing significant wear. We had other families we had traveled with staying in the building and did not want to switch buildings. When the original property management company could not accomodate us, Bender came through!!!!

The size of the place is great, 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, good location and being on the top floor was a plus. The condo was clean except for stickiness on the floors. We were very disappointed in the age of the propery, you can tell it's old, and many things were either substandard, like the pots (all the non stick was off and they were rusted through) the knives (were dull and wouldn't slice a tomatoe much less a steak) patio furniture (only 4 chairs, two that the seats were broken) and couch (was sunken in and not comfortable to sit on), or broken. The dryer quit working and was full of sand and lint build up. Called Bender, which were helpful but it was going to be the next day before service could get there, so my husband fixed the loose belt. He also fixed a towel rack fell off the wall,a bar stool that broke when a child sat in it and laundry closet knob that fell off. The fan in the hall bath would not turn off, so we reported that when we left. For the price, nicer places can be found, we will not stay at that property again. Bender was great considering what they had to work with.

The condo was nice, however, there were some issues that should be addressed. None of the bedroom doors locked, one of the bathroom doors did not lock (this would be considered the main bathroom I guess, it was in the hall between two bedrooms). There were at least two broken lamps. The towel rack in one bathroom kept falling off the wall even barely touching it. There could be one more TV purchased for the back bedroom (this is not a huge problem, but would be nice to have a TV in all bedrooms). Overall, nice place, just needs a some minor things fixed.

Overall, the stay at Westwind was great. Great location convenient to several shops, restaurants, and obviously the beach. The Bender realty staff was great and very understanding of any needs or concerns I had. The 10 person penthouse was a great size, it held eight of us VERY comfortably. The only problem I had with my stay was that we had to pay $12 for each car I had parked in the parking lot of Westwind. When paying a sizeable amount for a condo, most people would appreciate parking validation. However, most condos make you pay for parking as well so not much of a concern. Overall, very satisfied with my stay.

We loved the condo and the location was great. Our family had a great time. Housekeeping could have been improved. We did see some roaches and someone had swept dirt under the dining room rug.

Everything looked great! We stayed 3 nights and 4 days. The only problem I had was that tropical storm Lee had very heavy wind and rain. Friday morning it was storming the rain was coming in under the balcony slide doors. The sitting area was all wet coming
down the hall midway, the rug was soaked, and we end up using our towels. So I reported it that day no one came out other than housekeeping to bring four towels. We had kids with us and they could not enjoy because of the wet floors which meant they had to
stay in the rooms. Saturday morning I called back to report the water and from that moment till Sunday they were very helpful with the towels. It was about four loads of towels they had to bring to soak up the water. Later that evening the maintenance guy
brought over a blower which helped some but blowing the water in another direction. If it was not for the rain and the kids not able to come out only to eat we still had a great time and will return. I spoke with the manager and I was happy to know that she
gave a small refund for the inconvenience. Let me add again we stayed in the Penthouse a lovely place. -

We have always loved this condo, but during this stay when we arrived sand was everywhere and the floors were gross! Also, it just seemed to be falling to pieces. Very unhappy with this stay this time! Updates needed!

West Wind 901 was a lovely well appointed condo with plenty on room for all 10 of us to move around. The facility itself was well kept, but the pool was a little small. The only disappointing feature of the condo was that the master suite was rather small and did not face the beach. I would definitely recommend this condo to people who looking for easy beach access at a reasonable price.

Otherwise, it was beautiful. Great location. Sunrise and sunset on the patio, dolphins were seen in the Gulf everyday. -

We were very happy with most everything. Apon arrival we did find a need to sweep up paper/tissue etc.& TV controls do not work properly. Loved the high bar stool chairs on the porch. Everyone agreeded we will be back! And hopefully for a longer stay!

i want to say i have rent from bender for years and that i will always use bender. i think its time you at bender need to look in to the cleaning crews. they are not doing a good job for money we pay to have condo clean. clean crew could RUN BUSINESS OFF. but thanks i will give it another chance

We have had good luck with Bender in the past this time our condo had a AC problem and we had to move to a location away from the fest which made walking not a great option. the new condo was not the best it was musty and not nearly as nice as the one we wanted to stay in.
I understand things happen and I appreciate the efforts to help.
maybe a discount or a coupon for dinner would have been a nice thing for our inconvenience??

It was an excellent place. We went with a group of ten and stayed four nights. We initially had plans to g out every night but ended up stayign in every night because we enjoyed the condo so much. There was plenty of room and everything was very nice. We are already planning another trip!!!

I know that the owners have responsibility for keeping conditions of property, but pocket door in Hollywood bath should have been fixed, or noted as not being fixed. Price adjustment offered?
Parking was not good. Even the spaces were too narrow for suv's.
Closet floors were not clean so pillow shams and extra pillows were laid on dirty floors. -

The condo was a great size to accommodate the 10 of us. We really enjoyed being able to stay together and not be split up. The floors cleanliness left a lot to be desired. After taking a shower and walking through the condo, the bottoms of our feet would be pretty dirty again. We wore houseshoes or flip flops to keep this from happening. There were a few times when the elevator stopped working. Thankfully, it started working again within a reasonable amount of time. The pool was nice and the location was great. All in all, we had a wonderful vacation and made super vacation memories for 2009!

Our AC died after 3 nights. Bender realty came to us within 30 min of my call to them. They could not get the AC fixed that night. Bender let us stay in another condo at Westwind for the night. The next am, our AC was fixed. Bender went above the call of duty.

We had 10 of us that stayed at this condo. It's a bit of a stretch, because 10 includes the sofa. But the beds were comfortable, the decor was beautiful (my niece commented "wow, I want to live here!"), the kitchen was nice and well equiped, and we were able to seat everyone to eat together (a big deal for us - we cooked and ate in all 4 nights). Definitely the best condo we've stayed in (we've made 24 trips to Gulf Shores, so that's saying something!)

The condo (901) was great. The condo was very large and perfect for 3-4 couples or a large family. There were a few issue (no globe on fan in one room and a sliding door broke the day of checkout) that the staff said would be repaired. Other than that it was a good stay. The beach was not very crowded due to the smaller size of the complex and the pool was just the right size. Would stay here again.

Our family truly enjoyed this reasonably priced condo on the beach. The bedrooms offered privacy as 2 have their own baths; the other 2 share a bath. The 9 of us loved eating dinner together at the large dining room, and one of our favorite things was the large balcony overlooking the gulf!

we enjoyed our stay at Westview. The one thing i didn't like about the condo was the master bedroom was at the back of the condo. Also on our last day, most all of our beach chairs were stolen from the parking garage. That was the first time we had any problems with anything missing or being taken.

None of the doors in the bedrooms or bathrooms would lock. There were dust bunnies in every room. It was not clean. In one of the bathrooms the commode seat was not attached to bowl. When we checked in we had to pay additional fees to park our cars which was not in the agreement when we originally made the reservation.
