Gulf Shores was great!! Had a wonderfull time. Ocean Reef 111 needs some work. Carpet is pretty bad. Refrigerator had water in it everyday. Dinette set needs to be replaced. It's a folding table with benches.

      Nice getaway

Nice place to stay. The only drawback was the staircase going upstairs. It was hard to take luggage up.

Very nice and relaxing environment. We had a blast. Can't wait to return to Gulf Shores. We will return and would stay in the same rental. Very clean and just as stated in listing.

      Relaxing

Left on 04/24/2010 for a stay in April 2010

This was a perfect vacation spot for a large family. It was not a far walk to the beach and it was close to shops and restaurants. This was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed at in Alabama and we have already told friends and other family members to book with Anchor Vacations!

Very disappointed, room outdated and security guard made us unco

Left on 08/12/2009 for a stay in August 2009

I have stayed at the Ocean Reef several times, but this time may have been
my last. I have always loved the family oriented atmosphere and the lower
level buildings (I hate high rises). But when we arrived the room was
outdated and the furniture was dirty. The security guard was too much. He
made my girls feel uncomfortable every time they went to the beach, he
ask them what room they were staying in. He followed us to the beach one
day while we were taking pictures and told us not to get on the grass (we've
been to Gulf Shores numerous times and know all about the habitat areas).
We talked to several people staying there and none of them even saw the
security guard except while he was sitting by the pool playing his guitar. I
do not ever remember a security guard being there the last few times we
stayed, which was a couple of years ago. I think we will either go on to
Florida next time or find another condo. It disappoints me though because I
have bragged and bragged on the Ocean Reef and made referrals and have
loved staying there in times past. The best part was the location the least
favorite part was the security guard and the outdated room.

A very nice first family vacation.

Left on 06/16/2009 for a stay in May 2009

We were fairly happy with the condo and all items furnished. There were a few spider / bug issues though and we felt that it was a little over priced at 1000.00 for a 7 day stay, but again, we were very happy for a first out of town vacation with our 5 and 8 year old daughters, we are 37 and from St. Louis, Mo. We will return to Gulf Shores and try to stay for 2 weeks instead of 1. We also caught the tail end of the spring breakers, some inapropriate behavior did occur and was wittnessed by our kids.

Thank you for the feed back. Part of living in the south are all the bugs. We have not had anymore guests complain about bugs in that unit, however, the Oleander Bushes get infested with a black catapillar type insect in the spring. They cover the bushes, I can only assume that they somehow got in your unit. They are only here for a short time. Again we look forward to seeing you again in the future.
