This was our first trip to the beach. I had been planning for two years to take a family vacation with the kids and grand kids. I searched for some time for exactly what I wanted which was a condo or house with plenty if room with an ocean view and very close access to the beach at a reasonable price. I discovered houses with these amenities were out if my price range. This penthouse condo was the answer! It is centrally located to restaurants and other beach services. The 2600 sq ft condo was plenty of room for 5 adults and 3 children- we all had our own space but could meet on the balcony or around the table for meals or on the roomy couch for a movie. The view from the balcony is amazing! We saw dolphins right from our 14th floor condo! The beach access was perfect! Just take the elevator, walk through the pool area and you are on the boardwalk with just a few steps to the sandy beach! We rented chair sets so ours were set up everyday with our cushions and umbrellas waiting for us! We loved it! I am a pretty particular person so there were only a couple of things I might point out. The carpet needs to be cleaned, the master bedroom was a little stuffy - may need some ac maintenance. Overall this was an amazing vacation and we are already planning our next trip! If you go it is worth it to have the beach experience. If I went to the beach I wanted to be on the beach and I was for 7 days!
Always use Suncoast
Left on 07/18/2013 for a stay in July 2013 | The Andersons
My family has vacationed in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area for years. We have always used Suncoast rentals, and we always will. Suncoast makes renting a condominium or house effortless and a pleasure. The staff, both in person and on the phone, are always kind and helpful. That being said, this condominium we rented most recently wasn't quite up to par. There were no big issues and all the appliances (with the exception of the ice-maker), AC, electronics, furniture were acceptable. Our problems were with a few little things - one balcony door handle was broken, a toilet paper wall holder was broken, a towel hook in the bathroom wasn't attached to the wall, and the refrigerator never produced ice that week, despite having all the settings at the recommended levels. My husband fixed the towel hook and the door handle, but the toilet paper holder was irrepairable. We reported these problems to the Suncoast representative at Crystal Shores West so that they were aware that we were not responsible for the damage, but no repairs or inspection was made during our stay. We were unsure how they handle things like this, so we didn't worry about it. These things, in no way, lowered the enjoyment of our stay. We still would have rented this condo despite the small problems. Someone just needs to make a quick pass through this rental and fix/replace/update a few things and this would be a five star rental. It is starting to show it's wear and tear. Suncoast - five stars, Condo - three.
Great condo with amazing views!

We stayed in this condo for Spring Break 2013 with another family and it couldn't have been any better. It's near impossible to find 2 Gulf front king master suites with a balcony in most complexes, but that's what this condo offers. The kids stayed in the rooms in the back of the unit, each with their own bathroom. The living area is huge and was perfect for hanging out, watching movies and playing games at night. The kitchen was fully stocked and spacious. There is also a separate wet bar. The balcony is huge and has very comfortable furniture. The pool is a bit small but would be perfect for families with small children as it has a zero depth entry. Our kids used the pool tables in the gameroom every night. Also, being that the complex is on the smaller side, the beach never felt crowded and we always had plenty of
space to spread out. I wasn't sure how the off site check-in process would be but it was extremely efficient and we were in and out in less than 5 minutes. If we vacation in Gulf Shores again this will be the first condo we check for availability.
we enjoyed our stay.

The unit had a musty odor and it was so significant that we had to o buy air fresheners. The floor was not clean b/c after just a few minutes of walking barefoot our feet were black. Kitchen was nicely stocked with cooking supplies. One of the balcony doors would not open. One of the front bathrooms never had hot water.

The service was very good. After a little mix up with the cleaning situation, everything was done very quickly and courteously. The unit was out of this world. The west side of the beach is my favorite. The balcony was great too. Need some cushions on the chairs!

The condo was very nice, furnture was well kept, kitchen well stocked, nice facilities.
New toilets that were installed in 2 of the bathrooms were not level and had shimmes under the bases - little wobbily!
Though we received a nice discount due to the oil, I was not happy with the surprise fees when I checked in - paying extra for arm bands when Suncoast already knew we had 10 people in our party (that what the condo sleeps) and for paying $10 for an extra parking pass when we were assurred from the time we booked (January, 2010) that having an extra pass would not be a problem. All of these items should have been included in our balance from the very beginning.

The people at Young's were very courteous, and helpful. The condo was absolutely gorgeous, very very clean, it had everything you would need for your stay. The Gulf front view is to die for. I would recommend #1403 to anyone, as a matter of fact, the family suggest we stay there whenever we return to Gulf shores. Which, we will be returning for the Shrimp Festical. We all had a great time. Crystal Shores West is conveniently located to anything you want or need...groceries, restaurants, convenience stores, etc. The only problem we had was, the jaccuzi tub in the master bathroom, had a malfunction, and we had to wait forever for anyone to show up to repair it. We ended up fixing it ourselves, and calling to cancel the maintenance man, but, he must not have gotten the message, becausse he showed up anyway. Thanks Youngs, for making our stay a pleasant one. We will deinfitely be seeing you again.

This was the second year for us in 1403. We had our two daughters, their husbands and 3 grandsons! Plenty of room for all. Great location. The kids really enjoyed the walk-in pool!
Only complaint is that the Master Bedroom temp. was warm. I don't think the vent was on. Rest of the unit was cool but our room was a bit warm.
Great kitchen and appliances. I enjoyed the coffee brewer so much that I went out and bought one just like it!
My wife really enjoyed the master bath and especially the jacuzzi tub!
We will be back!

The condo was very spacious. We had 4 couples and everyone had a bathroom. We enjoyed the pool area and hot tub. You can't beat the price. We plan to stay there again. The only thing we didn't like was only getting 2 parking passes for a 4 bedroom condo and having to pay for extra passes.
A decent place

Upon our arrival, there was no staff member in the office at the condo unit to assist us. Upon entering our condo unit, we found it was spacious and nicely decorated. However, one of the bathrooms smelled horribly of urine, so we shut the door and avoided it. The ceiling fans were noisy and shaky and several of the closet doors were off their hinges.
The condo unit is right on the beach which was nice, but you have to get out there early or there may not be a spot for you to spend your day.
The pool is very small for the size of the condo unit as well.
On the positive side, the location of the condo unit was very convenient to local restaurants and shops. Parking was not an issue either. It was a decent place to stay.

This condo - labeled brand new- had some issues which I allerted the agency about but have heard nothing from them. If the following were taken care of we would really have nejoyed our stay. The view was great as was the company we had. But, the master bath toilet wobbled when you sat down, the dining light fixture was not screwed all the way into the ceiling, the kitchen fan was filthy, tile floors were extremely slippery so that we cleaned them with water, carpeting was badly in need of vacuuming, vacuum cleaner hadn't been emptied in a very long time, bathroom kickplate totally loose, bedroom door handle loose, dripping tub, teak chairs on balcony broken, broken dresser drawers, needs a good dusting, exhaust fan very noisy, lamp shade screws missing, cushions in bar chairs gross, bloody pillow, and a dresser/cabinet that was very unstable. If feedback is paramount why haven't I heard back?

We used the condo for a family reunion over Thanksgiving and found it exceeded our expectations as a pleasant place to stay. For many years (we alternate years with inlaws for children and families)we have stayed in a comparable condo in Padre Island in Texas but due to hurricane damage this past year, we were unable to get the same unit we had used previously. So we tried Gulf Shores. As a youth, I had stayed in Orange Beach at our family cabin, so I was somewhat familiar with the area, including the fish market in Foley which I was happy to see still operates. My wife found the shopping outlets more to her taste.
So I am happy to say we enjoyed the stay very much and will probably try to arrange to get the same condo in two years. My wife and I liked it so well, we may come down and rent a smaller unit before then for the two of us.

I have a group of 8 people. we have been going to Gulfshores for the last 8 years. We all agreed this was one of the best times due to the condo we stayed at. The condo was very roomy and the fact that the walk to the beach was closer then anywhere else we have stayed was great. Everyone we met was very friendly. We have all agreed that we will stay at the Crystal Shores West 1403 when we go back. This was the first time in the 8 last years we left Gulfshores that we didn't have at least one thing to complain about.
