The location of the house was perfect. The scenery was perfect. When we arrived at the house there was sawdust all over the floor, the tv in the family room didn't work. They did replace it with a smaller one. Only one tv worked in the bedrooms. Not enough silverware to go around. Only one roll of tissue per bathroom. Had to wash towels and washclothes daily.
Great place to stay; lots of room and right on the beach. Does h

We really enjoyed our stay at Get-A-Way. We had lots of room and was right on the beach. There were some problems: Some of the electrical outlets did not work. The refrigerator quit running. We had to plug it into a different outlet and that solved the problem Due to the additional expense I understand why but upstairs one TV had 10 channels, one no channels and the master bedroom had no TV.
But don't let me discourage you, we had a wonderful time. When you see the interior of the house you would think Jimmy Buffet lived there.
Great place to stay, but...

This house has perfect accomodations for our family but it would be so much better if improvements were made. It needs new flooring, bedding, paint, and a good thorough cleaning. I am sure the owner thinks "why should I spend any money on it when it gets rented anyway". A little TLC would make it an excellent place to stay and we intend to rent it again next year anyway.

Check in was extremely easy. Very important. Location to the beach was most important. We were right on the beach, but still close enough to town if we needed anything.
The size of the house was great. It could really use some paint and upgrades. There were several things wrong but didn't keep us from having a wonderful time. When we reported the dishwasher needed repair, it was done in a timely manner.
All in all, we had a wonderful time with our family and would love to do it again.
Oh yes, if you can, bring a water hose so you can rinse the sand off your feet. There is a spigot, but no hose. That would help a lot.

Me and my family had a great time and enjoyed the stay so much that we will be returning hopefully next year. The house was great. Lots of room for everyone. The view was great, people were very nice, we had no problems at all.

We stayed in this house the week of the July 4th and loved it! This house is in a great location. It is close to town and there is a store and a restaurant right across the street. The house was plenty roomy for our 9 people (5 adults and 3 kids 12-15). I must brag on the maintenance and the management. As with any house there were a few little issues, but Maintenance came promptly and fixed everything. We didn't even have to call. They came to check on us before we had time to report the problem. I would definitely recommend staying at Get-A-Way for your family vacay.

When I book our vacation the rental office was not sure of the square footage, so I was a little worried about space. Upon entering the living room I and my 13 traveling companions were amazed at the space we had. The décor, high ceilings, awesome beach had us from the word go. After traveling 12 hours and then shopping for food once we got there it was a treat to have such comfortable beds and sitting area. This was a family trip including 10 adults 4 children. The upstairs was nice to separate the age groups.
The only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 star rating was the refrigerator freezer would not freeze, it would keep things cold but the ice cream melted. when reported, someone was there within 30 min but thought we had just overloaded freezer. Hopefully before I return the fridge will be replaced.
This was my second time to use Sun Coast and they were helpful and friendly. Hope to see you again next year
Perfect for you and your grandkids!!

We had such a wonderful time at Get-A-Way last week and my grandkids wanted to know if we could do it again next year! And of course, being a loving grandmother, I have already booked the house for next year's vacation!! The house was so large with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everybody!! It was so relaxing and fun to be right on the beach!! We loved it!!!
Nice vacation rental!

This home is a great vacation rental. It is conveniently located across the street from a convenience store, restaurant, and seafood shop. The staff at Youngs Suncoast were very nice and attentive to all my needs. Any issue that came up, they fixed immediately.
The only thing that I did not like about this home was there was no exit from the deck, we had to go through the house to get down to the beach. So there was only one exit from the home. Kitchen equipment could be upgraded a little but overall it was a wonderful vacation.
Perfect For Large Group!

We stayed for a week before Memorial Day Weekend. The house was huge & spacious-much larger than what the pictures illustrated. The bedrooms were large, the balconies were nice & big for the 7 kids of our group to play on one side & the adults to sit & visit on the other side.
I really liked the bright "beachy" colors & decor of the house. The direct access to the beach as a beachfront house was wonderful! Also, as a runner-the early morning jogs along the road right in front of the house were phenomenal!
Cons of the house-while we were there, there was some sort of sand mite infestation in one of the bedrooms & it's adjoining bathroom which was pretty gross. They came & sprayed the room, but the bugs were still there. Also the refrigerator kept leaking water in front of it which wasn't a huge deal, just required a towel be kept on the floor in front of it. It just took away from the experience. The cleaning people could probably do a more thorough job between guests, but we were allowed to check in several hours early, so it was a fair trade off! Also, in the ad it said there was a grill, & there was not one there. A TV/DVD player in the kids room would have been awesome too- but seriously, for the price- this was a wonderful place to stay & met all of our needs for a large group.
I would recommend it, I would stay there again, I miss it already!!!
Not a kid friendly house. Maint. needs to be done on this home!

Although we had a great time because we were with great people. I would not stay at this property again. We had children that were 18 months, 3, 5, and 7 years old and there were safety issues such as spindles on the deck that were hanging off and children could have fell thru and severely hurt themselves, dishwasher was not attached to counter and when it was opened it fell on foot...injuring foot, dresser in kids room fell on our 5 yr old 2 times when putting close in it...very flimsy and unsafe...there were rusty nails and wire all over the property not to mention the neighbors cut a chain linked fence down right on the property line and there were sharp rusty pipes hiding in the sand that 2 people cut their feet on. Electrical outlet in upstairs did not always work ..was not connected correctly, upstairs shower did not drain and one of the showerheads was coming off...these are just a few items that were wrong with the property! we called numerous times to get someone to fix...or at least the items that were safety issues and no one came!!! they expected us to leave the house clean however we were given a vacuum that were missing 2 wheels and did not work...was in such bad shape it needed to be thrown out. finally on the last day they brought us a new one. For a house that sleeps 18 or so there was only seating for 4 ,they did bring us a plastic table and 4 chairs a few days after we arrived. Also a old broken rusty chair was left on the top deck, again with children they could have cut themselves and with it being rusty could have turned out bad...we had to throw it away and take it down to the garbage. This property was very disappointing...although looks good in the photos ...I would not stay here again...

We were very disappointed in the cleanliness, needed repairs, and plumbing issues at the Get a Way. We had to spend time cleaning the floors (bottom of feet were black from walking on the floors the first night)and cleaning out traps in the bathtubs so the water would drain. A call to rental company asking for repairs to tubs and asking for a working vacuum cleaner did not result in anything being done before we left. One bathroom didn't have hot water. Would have liked to have a table and chairs on the outside deck for dining (one was shown in the rental pictures)and some furniture on the upper deck. Also, sounded like there was a grill in the rental material but was not one at the property.
Few maintenance problems but would rent again! Beautiful house

We had a great week in Gulf Shores, enjoying the beach and a week of relaxation away. Although the weather wasn't super warm we still enjoyed spending time on the beach and hanging out on the deck of the house. The house was very nice but we had a problem with 2 toilets getting clogged and we couldn't fix them so we had to have a maintenance guy come over and fix it, although he did fix the toilets after a lot of work a lot of toilet water was splashed onto the floor so much that the water ran out of the bathroom and onto the floor in front of the door. The maintenance guy left the house without cleaning up the wet toilet water on the bathroom floor or cleaning up the wet carpet. Although our toilets were fixed I had to clean up the mess that he left and we were left with wet toilet water carpet in front of our bathroom all week. We used the dishwasher daily and after opening it up we found out that the dishwasher wasn't bolted in on the top part so every time you pulled the drawers out the dishwasher began to tip out and if we hadn't caught the racks they would have flown out and broken all the dishes. I again called about this problem and was told that somebody would be coming over to fix it and was on their way now and after calling the company at least 3 times to my disappointment nobody ever showed up. We also had a problem with our electricity and we had one room and bathroom's power go out one evening and had a maintenance guy promptly show up and flipped the breaker and fixed the problem. Although we got 2 of the 3 problems we called about fixed I was unsatisfied with the way one of the maintenance guys left our bathroom. Other then the maintenance issues the house was spacious, gorgeous, beach front and central to all of the cities shops, seafood places, groceries stores and so much more! We had a blast with our break neighbors and friends staying near by! I would rent from them again even with the maintenance issues that we had.
Horrible Management company

When we walked into the house and set our things down, we realized that the tables and counter tops were dirty and sticky. The shower downstairs did not work, there was a hole in the wall in one of the rooms, the internet and cable was not working, and the dvd player upstairs did not work. when we called Young's to tell them the problems, they said there was nothing they could do and they would have someone contact us monday. We were scheduled to leave on Sunday morning. No one ever called us, so we called them. They told us that we trashed the house and that they were charging us for a hole in the wall. The hole that was already there, that we tried to tell them about. I don't think all these problems were the owner's fault,
I think the management company is unprofessional and hides things from the owners. If you have no choice but to use this company, make sure that they give you a checklist so that you can mark off what is already wrong with the property. Don't get stuck being charged 300 for a hole in the wall that was already there. Read more
Response from Young's Suncoast Vacation Rentals - 02/21/2013
We apologize for the problems with the internet and TV service and addressed those issues as soon as the guest contacted us. The home was thoroughly inspected the day before arrival and was absent of any cleanliness issues or damage. An additional fee was collected from the guest due to the excessive disarray the home was left in upon departure including but not limited to: Excessive trash & food left all over home, crayon marks on numerous walls, ruined linen and towels, and the hole that was not there upon inspection the day before. While we strive for guest satisfaction, we must also protect our owners and their investments from damage such as this.
