This condo was a perfect getaway for my parents, myself, husband and two kids (11 & 7)! I do agree with the previous posts that the carpets were dirty - the only other complaints though were that the toaster only toasted one side of our bread lol and the elevator was slow (we usually took the stairs as we were only on the 5th floor)...not to bad really for a wonderful family getaway! The location was wonderful! We saw dolphins swimming in the ocean daily from our balcony. The beach, indoor and outdoor pools, sand volleyball pit, local shopping, restaurants, and pier offered quite a variety to keep us entertained. We were within walking distance of the pier and the Sea and Suds restaurant (which had awesome long island tea's and fish sandwiches). The bed's were super comfortable...although the "bonus" room was kind of unnecesary as our kids prefered the couch/floor in the LR so they could sleep near the ocean- it did keep their stuff contained so we weren't tripping over it. It really was a great vacay and the kids asked to come back next year for spring break again!!
The view and restaurants are outstanding.

The people at Young's were always courteous and helpful. The gym, pools, and hot tub, are the reason we have been spending the last 9 years at the Lighthouse, during the winter months. It was cooler than normal this year but so has the rest of the country.
This place was fabulous!

We enjoyed the beautiful view, the extra little room and the layout of the bedrooms, baths and kitchen. The spa tub was great. We were glad to be able to watch Thursday night football on the NFL channel too! We would stay again and probably will next year.
Ocean vacation with a few mishaps

I enjoyed the beach and ocean views from this unit. The unit was pretty beat up and had a number of stains on the carpet. I would return to Gulf Shores but pick a different unit. The resort rented to a youth church group the same week and thus the pool was full of 200 teenagers every afternoon which made it impossible to enjoy the pool or have a conversation since it was extremely loud during that time. I was hoping for a more family friendly resort

We have stayed at the lighthouse for years and have always been pleased. This year, this unit was very disappoinying for the cost. Walls needed paint, carpet was filthy and ceramic tile dirty.
Well worth it!!!

We have gone to Gulf Shores many times over the past 10 years and this was our first time in a Condo. For the price we paid I can promise you will be continue in Condo's for now on (no more hotels for us). We will be back next year.
This Condo has a great location!

Overall, this condo was a good rental. The set up of the place was great. We had everything we needed for our stay. One thing I would like to see is a deep cleaning. Other than that, I would stay again.
Thankful for the sunshine and swimming pools.

This was our 2nd time to rent from Young's Suncoast, both times the servie we received was excellent and we had no problems getting in and out. This condo was very clean and spacious. We loved the location and the condo amenities, it was very close to everything we needed and wanted to do. What I liked best about this Condo was the double swimming pools and this is because of what was least expected and that being the oil on the beaches. It had actually been spotted the day we got to Gulf Shores, but we didn't see it on the beach until June 5th. The sunshine and the swimming pools helped ease the visual of the oil and my husband and I still had a wonderful time.

We went down for the inaugural Hangout Music Festival. This was a great location to walk to the festival. As always, we had a great time at the Lighthouse and in Gulf Shores. This unit is nice but could use a little TLC.

We stayed in The Lighthouse Rm. 514 in Gulf Shores, AL, for 5 days this summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. The place is huge and we were there during peak season but did not feel overcrowded. The beaches are beautiful and there is chair/umbrella rental for those that are interested. We enjoyed the pools the most. We never had to wait on loungers and the pools were clean and refreshing. Overall a great place to stay!

We enjoyed our stay at The Lighthouse. This was our second stay there, with the first being October of 2008. Our unit this time was #514. Overall it was great, although there were some minor issues that we felt need to be addressed. In particular they were worn carpeting that had numerous stains and living room furniture that needs updating. Other than that, the unit was fine.

The staff was very rude and tried to threaten us by telling us they were going
to call the cops on us because we were 20 minutes late checking out. Also,
the third room is a closet that has a 1/2 of a twin bed and you can't even
shut the door. They should mention the dimensions of the third room in the

Loved the lighthouse and room, just hated the elevators like every other customer I met. Average wait for an elevator was approx. 15 minutes, sometimes longer, rarely less. Made it extremely difficult with 4 children to go up/down to/from our room.
Perfect Family Vacation
Left on 10/27/2008 for a stay in August 2008 | Cynthia
We had the perfect family vacation at The Lighthouse Condominiums in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
The condo we stayed in was just right for my family of 5. It was new, clean and very comfortable. It was tastfully decorated, had everything we needed and had a great view of the beach.
My kids, ages 7,4, and 2, all had a fun experience at the outdoor pool area, indoor pool area and the beach. All areas were easy to get to, clean and enjoyable. We loved having the accessible bathrooms on the ground level which we haven't had at other condos. The zero depth pool was a great feature, we all enjoyed the hot tubs, and I loved having the exercise facility available.
We will definitely be back next year.
What a let down.

Was really disappointed with this unit. Dishwasher didn't work & not nearly enough cooking ware to make a meal. Though it was a 3 br. there was enough tableware for 5 people & we were 8 there. Had to wash dishes by hand so others there could eat. The shelving in thh cabinets were rickety. Guess that why they didn't have many dishes in them. What's bad is these units aren't that old. Total disappointment. Wound up booking my annual Labor Day trip through Meyers. Sorry wasn't going to take a chance on disappointing my guest.

The time we were there it was nice - then Hurricane Gustav came into the gulf and they made us evacuate ( 5 miles down the road). We had 3 nights left to our stay and we were only compensated for 1 night. We were not that satisfied.
